Argentina - Giant UFO Causes Huge Commotion 11/26/09

What is the general consensus here? It seems to me at least that this was seen by far too many people to have been just something ordinary. The lack of footage is moot. Things happen, people sometimes are just caught unexpected, even in larger numbers.

Maybe this mass sighting without pics of any kind was part of a bigger plan. It was part of the planned disclosure that was supposed to take place on the 27th.

A Polygraph test!! what is that going to prove, other than that a mass Polygraph test would probably prove the uselessness of the Polygraph, and that the operator would most likely commit suicide after the first 5000 tests when he he realises that half of the testees are telling the truth.

I seem to remember an incident like this taking place in the skies
over London, England around 1840. Over a million people saw a
cigar shaped UFO.

I don't know why they couldn't take a picture of it.
The 2AM time is probably a factor.
They couldn't play that trick over Las Vegas.
MJ-12 would tell them to get lost.

I just want to make a point to all the people who have that knee jerk reaction which is:

"blah blah....7500 with camera phones and no pictures?? blah blah"

You people have obviously not tried to take a photo....at NIGHT with one of these camera phones.

Firstly, people in front of you barely show up.....

You can not expect a shot of the night sky with a camera phone to show you anything other than blackness.

And don't go testing this with your $700 SonyEricsson Cybershot in Night mode coming back to me with a black sky and a tiny dot...you can't assume all 7500 people have awesome camera phones. most camera phones are pretty weak when it comes to night shots.

This supposedly happened over the salta province in Argentina, correct?

I got a kind reply from Patricio J. Barrancos, fro Argentine Ufology Foundation, which is investigating the case.

A gigantic cigar shaped ufo appeared in the city Joaquin V. Gonzalez at the province of Salta on november 26th early in the morning. Once the ufo left, the towns around had no more electricity, telephone lines or water for several hours.
There are no photographs available up to know, our ufology specialist on the area is trying to find who has images or videos about it.
And he will fly with his plane around to see what else he can find.

As i've said earlier, it would be surprising if now we would have many videos and photos of the event (though to don't have any is unfortunate). Now, since it actually affected water, phones and power (all at the same time), i wonder if cameras and cell-phones were working, bear also in mind that the first phone calls from witnesses arrived AFTER the end of the black-out (plus the damages occurred to post lamps and to a turbine that has been found burned out for reasons unknown even to ENDESA, the electricity supplier, which reported it to the newspaper). Also the duration of the sighting is important (according to El Tribuno, a newspaper, the sighting lasted SOME SECONDS): but even if it lasted, for example, half a minute, then one would be expected to be as fast as some of the fastest gunfighters of the old west in order to surpass the shock, extract, aim and take the pic (given that he was carring the camera or the phone AND that it was working, switched-on and ready to work): heck, not everyone lives with the primary purpose of taking some UFO videos & pics, some people have also some other priorities in their lives, believe it or not.
Regarding the media coverage, it was reported (except the UFO websites) at least by:

The huge and unusual black-out (and its mysterious causes) have been confirmed by ENDESA to one of these newspapers

The collapse in the electricity system was confirmed by the company EDESA: minutes after the blackout had no power and that it was impossible to detect the fault, which occurred exactly in the central power plant located in El Tunal.

The major issue was a burned out turbine.
All the witnesses have been reporting the same story to nespapers, even the descriptions of the object are matching: the Argentine Ufology Foundation is aware and IS investigating on the case and of course looking for pictures or any other possible evidences, so i really don't see what is fishy with this incindent, unless i'm missing something.

Thanks for the update internos.

This incident has the potential to be one of the better cases.

So far we have:

1. The report of a very large cigar shaped object

2. Multiple witnesses who's descriptions of the event are consistent

3. A power blackout (burned out turbine) with the electricity company unable to determine the cause of the fault.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this one.
