Mars rover movies

I don't think this has been posted yet. There have been two videos released. One from each rover. They are 5mb quicktime files. They each show there first 90 sols on mars in 90 seconds. So this is time lapsed footage. Not real time footage, just to be clear.

How do we know the movies are not fakes? This is the US government, specifically NASA, we are talking about.

Of course they are fake, JPL, Stanford, MIT, The European Space agency, and every scientist from around the world who is pouring over this datat right now has been completely duped.

I am excited, i will have to show this footage to everyone, after looking at it and dissecting it to just make sure it is legit.

I still don't believe we've been to the moon. How could we have gone to Mars? NASA is a HUGE black ops spending write-off. For every $40 billion project, the movie studio gets a few million to "land on Mars" or whatever. The rest is for God knows what.

Well no, not with the weight of the scientific world breathing down their back. A conspiracy of this size involving thousands of people is highly unlikely, at least to be secure for any amount of time.

You don't believe the Missions to the Moon were true, as shown in other threads on this board. That is a flawed (and ignorant) belief. Naturally Space related science is going to improve and expand the frontiers over time. If anything its advancing a little slower than most other fields (primarily due to funding).

I don't mean to sound like some crazy. I try to think logically so as not to be classified as some conspiracy nut (as I often am). However, if some scientists discovered we didn't really spend $40 billion (enough to buy several large countries) to go to Mars. He calls ABC news (or whoever) and they hang up. Why? Because the government pressures them? Perhaps. Or, more likely, they feel it sounds to crazy to air. Look at the moon landing. There is all this evidence that we didn't go to the moon. Tons of experts telling you (though thousands of NASA employees claim we did). Yet no news agency airs the story. A FOX special (hosted by X-Files star - conspiracy show star). I don't know why nobody cares that we didn't go to the moon. But I think its the same reason nobody cares we didn't spend $40 billion to go to Mars.

Except all that "evidence" doesn't hold up what so ever. I havn't seen tons of so called experts saying we didn't go to the moon and it's not just NASA scientists saying we went either.

The experts I was referring to are from the FOX special. Forgive me for being gullible, but I'm going by their info. The head of the developer of the company which made the cameras the astronauts used, as well as engine specialists who worked on the shuttle engines (sup-contracted - not NASA employees) all showed great evidence against the moon landing story. The photographic evidence is the most overwhelming. You should look into it for yourself if you have any question about it. Its not some crackpot story. If their facts are true, there is no way we went to the moon, unless the government really wanted us to believe we didn't go to the moon, when we really did, which would be really stupid. But who knows.

So is it safe to assume you didn't bother to investigate the counterpoints to the Fox program?

Yes, I read the official NASA "de-bunking". It was like 20 pages of BS. A few of their explanations may pan-out, but most of it was just official crap. I have see tons of websites saying we did go to the moon, and tons that say we haven't. Each side claims they have "proof". I think there is evidence for both, but only one truth.

I've looked into a lot of info about the Moon landings. What photographic evidence are you reffering to? The stuff i've seen that claims to prove the photos are fake are things like not being able to see the stars and things like that. All it proves is there lack of understanding of how camera's work and how light exposes onto film. If it's something else i'd be interested in hearing it.

There is no 'official NASA debunking'. NASA is well aware that they went to the moon, and doesn't really see the need to answer a program full of pseudoscience, half truths and lies. There is mention of the moon hoax theories somewhere on NASA's site. But mostly it is not even bothering with refuting the pseudoscience.

Its all well and good that you are aware that there is 'evidence for both'. But have you actually bothered to look into it? The trick with the 'evidence for both' is that the evidence for the 'moon hoax' theory is all junk science and misleading statements.

Either way, this is a topic about the Mars rovers, there are a few dozen moon-hoax topics. Until there is something new on that front then I suggest we take any moon-hoax discussions to one of them.

well i personally think that there is no chance moon trip was hoax, if so where did the rocket whent? on antarctic? i mean too much people was witnessing the departure, so it just couldnt fly off and after then land in japan
