I agree with the assessment. I think society is becoming damaged by blogs and forums. As a result of being exposed to forums, (forum rules specifically), I think it has turned many people into little socialists (Hitlers). People are trying to apply what they learn in forums to real life. When someone has an opposing opinion in real life, they are looking for some type of moderation by an authority. What do you think is causing the socialist movement in real life? Social networks in the form of forums and chat rooms. We are also becoming rude to one and other. Since people think their voice will be silenced in real life, they will outburst into child tantrums. Many younger adults who grew up online are now depending on moderators; thus, they buy into government (socialistic) control over society. When it comes to interacting with the real world, they look for someone to tell them what to do. They have become dependent on discussing their opinions within a online committee. They cannot function in society.

When it comes to obtaining false information, blogs have been used to create an illusion of truth. Everyone from Obama to Average Joe has influence on the next day's news. Look at the topics here on ATS. Where do you think 99% of the false information about UFOs, 9/11 conspiracies, and many others have been started? When the internet was only used for information websites, the world was still on solid ground. I guarantee Obama would not be president at this point. Why do you think he walked around with a Black-Berry? He knows where to go online to manipulate the truth. How do you think he got elected? Why do you think he wants to ban talk radio, blogs, and forums? He knows how they affect society, for they got him elected into office. Since he can no longer walk around with his black-berry, he is having a hard time controlling the news. Its pisses him off.

Another eerie thing to think about -- Even though you are friends with someone from Iran (or Iraq), online, that does not mean they will not kill you offline. Since we have been exposed to several nationalities online, our societies have become complacent from the interactions. Younger naive people think we live in a Utopian society. We don't. -- During one of the ground battles in World War I, two sides of the battlefield stopped to celebrate Christmas. Each side stopped firing for 24 hours, so they can get together for the holiday. Everyone crossed the battlefield and celebrated as one. At the end of the night, both sides retreated to their opposite sides. Once the morning arrived, they ended up killing each other. -- You may have some type of commonality online with strangers from another country, but do not let that feeling of complacency fool you. If they are ordered to do so in real life, they will attack you without hesitation. Unless they are from one of our friendly nations, I would question the motives of those from communistic and socialistic countries.

Blogs, forums, and other social networks are screwing up society.

Sorry for the cold truth. We live in a cold society.

Exactly. Its all about manipulating and controlling the truth. It all depends upon what type of message you want to send, and then you need to put the pieces on the board. Naive people are buying into government security, but they are also buying into enemy rhetoric. Our societies are becoming messed up.

Blogs, forums, and social networks are a double-edged sword. Pros and cons.

First of all, Nowhere in any of that was ATS mentioned.

Secondly, do you know how many blogs there are?
There are millions, literally covering everything from neighborhood gossip to celebrity mudslinging to weird rants about political parties or positions and so on and so on.

How many do you think are even remotely accurate?
How many of them actually do fact checking?
How many are distilled into a comprehensible presentation.

Should public opinion hold sway over anything other than to be held in storage for when the next election occurs?

Do you think there is value in an education arc that covers journalism?
Do you think someone is qualified to be a journalist because they can use a word processor or a blog site?

In the words of the bard: "Methinks thou dost protest too much". lol

ALL media is propaganda servicing the agenda of the person or persons who let the message out. Propaganda doesn't mean "lie". Look it up.

i don't believe the inaccuracies in the blogosphere are the problem, it's our confidence in our own abilities to assess the stories on their own merits that worries the political establishment.

if you get your news from the web, you've probably developed the ability to cross check and contextualise a story for yourself, you naturally become capable of assessing motivation and reliability of a source and you are far less likely to simply swallow the angle being presented to you.

the problem for the PTB is you naturally apply these skills to the MSM and the political establishment.

I believe what were are experiencing here in the "matrix" (what I call the entire pyramid structure of control), is the inevitable shift and evolution of the consciousness of humanity, on a individual and societal level. The planet is changing and with it's inevitable change, the resonation of this shift is now palpable. People are waking up in droves. I remember talking to others about what this whole scheme is about, (I.e slavery of the human race in a prison you can't see, taste, hear or touch, the prison for the mind) over a year ago, and most people would look at me funny, now I overhear conversations involving the federal reserve, the rockefellers, etc. People have begun the journey, to free their minds, to step out of the circle of "societal norms" that work just like a shock collar for animals, step out of it and the people who are inside of it supply the shock. Ohhh no, you can't be unique and beautiful and a wonderful human being capable of your own thought, feelings, opinions and biases, NO, you MUST be a slave to the societal norms, you must take all that you are, multi-dimensional infinity, and put a limit on that, fit that into a box, so you go from being this immensely powerful being, an incredible and divine manifestation, into being a robot slave sheep.

But we are individually and societally shifting out of the "old way". The way where you have to buy THREE houses to live in one, where you have to slave away most of your existence to pay for the lavish lifestyles of the "elite". The elite are just like you and me, the only thing that separates us from them are all illusions. They hold more pieces of worthless paper either electronically or physically. Fair enough, but it is worthless, the only worth money has is the worth we give it. The "elite" are us, and we are them, they are our human brothers and sisters just like the poorest people are our brothers and sisters. They like to control the perception so that they can feel like they are different, and in the end, they are not, they are delusional and lying to themselves. Some would argue they own land, which is I feel an obsured concept. This planet existed LONG before any rockefeller or rothschild thought, hey, I own this little chunk of dirt. The Native Americans believed that NO ONE could own the earth. We are the earth's caretakers, we are it's family. It loves and sustains us, so we must in turn love and sustain the planet. This is folly because the perception is, we are so dead set on controlling the planet, controlling nature, we are at WAR with our planet, our HOME. How can we live peacefully if we are at WAR with where we live, not to mention the people who live IN the home.

Does all of this sound rather childish and stupid. A bunch of little kids in suits are fighting over a little place in the sand box to play and sit down, and these selfish little kids keep the rest of humanity from playing in the sand box, from enjoying life and experiencing the beauty that is life.

The shift in consciousness is coming and the "nwo" knows this. It is no longer tip-toeing to the totalitarian state, they are on bikes now and speeding towards the finish. They will hit a brick wall, it is inevitable.

We have to understand that this is a crisis in consciousness, we CANNOT solve this global problem (i.e nwo) with the SAME level of consciousness that created it. We have to evolve ourselves and most importantly, our minds. We need to decide for ourselves, each of us realizing that we are all beautiful, unique and wonderful and stand up for all that we are, for we are all one, and its only a matter of time until the whole of humanity realizes that they've been on the battlefield, killing brother after brother, sister after sister, we've been killing ourselves, for nothing but a system of illusions and control. Lets take our power back!

One must consider the source here. The attack is comming from the US Senate, the national whorehouse and home to the Bankster Pimps AKA United States Senators.

God, they can not seem to be able to accept any adverse opinions whatsoever. Understand that they own MSM and control the minds of all the "Dancing with the Stars" crowd. The few critical thinkers that are left in the vast entertainment wasteland, called the USA, aren't to be allowed a few meager comments on the internet? What a pack of loosers!

1. the internet exists and anyone can have a blog.

2. NO ONE is stopping you from voicing your opinion on ANY subject.

Why do people think that other people are being silenced when in fact there is all too much communication available and on top of that, loads of ignorant jibberish tossed around and round.

The very fact that there are hundreds if not thousands of hate sites, dissent sites, counter-point sites, you name it and free speech is the winner.

If you have the where-with-all and the get to it spirit, you can get your word out.

If you expect people to hand you the ways and means of saying what you feel and having the world be aware of that in an instant, then you need to go talk to a working band. lol

It is hard to get out there and to promote ideas or songs or books or anything.

Having access isn't enough, you simply have to work really hard. And, of course you have to offer something that has value to others. Just because you or I think something, doesn't mean that anyone will agree with us no matter how right we think we are or know we are.

Any blogger who got picked up by msm would jump right away and support that agenda. Unless of course, they themselves become folded into the msm which is really what every blogger wants.

heck , even this place sells advertising to companies that want annoying pop ups for work at home scams. lol. that's the price you and me gotta pay to this site owner for talking about ufos and government cover ups.

ats is selling ads to the highest bidder who is forcing pop ups to flash on you to go get yourself a crappy job licking envelopes for some heel who will never pay you. lol

speaking of waking people up. lol, what would everyone do if they were "awake". Why do people who carte-blanche believe in the weirdest of conspiracy theories believe themselves to be "awake".

I think this whole forum could use a good waking up. lol

Great thread! Honestly the disdain that these people have for the internet in generally is proof enough that they don't want the people to have access to information outside the MSM.

Not only access though, they don't want us to be able to communicate as rapidly as we can online. It is dangerous to them.

Education has always been dangerous to any slave trade, just ask Fredrick Douglas.

"Great spirits have always been violently opposed by mediocre minds." (Albert Einstein)

What could be more mediocre AT BEST than government-lamestream media as we know them, especially nowadays? It's as though they're the walking cyborg-undead repeating the monotone, "Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated." Not saying everyone in the blogosphere, meaning everyone opposed to the government in whatever way(s), is spot on about everything, but there's clear hostility toward (real) free speech by TPTB. Here's hoping they start pooping bricks daily.

Internet Presents Web of Security Issues
WASHINGTON, Sept. 25, 1998

In a briefing room deep in the Pentagon earlier this year, Air Force Lt. Col. Buzz Walsh and Maj. Brad Ashley presented a series of briefings to top DoD leaders that raised more than just a few eyebrows.

Selected leaders were shown how it was possible to obtain their individual social security numbers, unlisted home phone numbers, and a host of other personal information about themselves and their families simply by cruising the Internet.

Walsh and Ashley, members of the Pentagon's Joint Staff, were not playing a joke on the leaders. Nor were they trying to be clever. Rather they were dramatically, and effectively demonstrating the ease of accessing and gathering personal and military data on the information highway information which, in the wrong hands, could translate into a vulnerability.

"You don't need a Ph.D. to do this," Walsh said about the ability to gather the information. "There's no rocket science in this capability. What's amazing is the ease and speed and the minimal know-how needed. The tools (of the Net) are designed for you to do this."

The concern over personal information on key DoD leaders began with a simple inquiry from one particular flag officer who said he was receiving a large number of unsolicited calls at home. In addition to having the general's unlisted number, the callers knew specifically who he was.

Beginning with that one inquiry, the Joint Staff set out to discover just how easy it is to collect data not only on military personnel, but the military in general. They used personal computers at home, used no privileged information not even a DoD phone book and did not use any on-line services that perform investigative searches for a fee.

In less than five minutes on the Net Ashley, starting with only the general's name, was able to extract his complete address, unlisted phone number, and using a map search engine, build a map and driving directions to his house.

Pentagon: Internet needs to be dealt with as if an enemy weapons system

Information Operation Roadmap Part 3

The Pentagon’s Information Operations Roadmap is blunt about the fact that an internet, with the potential for free speech, is in direct opposition to their goals. The internet needs to be dealt with as if it were an enemy "weapons system".

The 2003 Pentagon document entitled the Information Operation Roadmap was released to the public after a Freedom of Information Request by the National Security Archive at George Washington University in 2006. A detailed explanation of the major thrust of this document and the significance of information operations or information warfare was described by me here.

I always get into trouble because I am an observer. Most people in the United States have short term memory when it comes to politics, military, and foreign affairs. Since I take notice of the little things, I see the world from a different perspective. That is why I do not believe the 9/11 conspiracy theories have any levity. When people communicate with others around them, they dismiss body language, behavioral patterns, and other psychological aspects. People forget to put themselves and others into context. Instead of questioning the human being who wrote a blog, most people online do not even question a author's intent.

When I observe our presidents, I remember things such as:
(1) Obama owned a black-berry before arriving into office..

(2) Obama accepted online contributions, and he has kept there origins a secret. (Since Obama accumulated around a million dollars, could he have received anything from foreign nations?)

(3) George Bush's father was almost killed by Saddam Husein. (Could revenge be the motive for the invasion of Iraq?)

(4) George Bush sank a oil company, which his father had given him as a gift. (Could Bush's inability to run a business be the reason why the country stayed sour? It should not have been a surprise.)

(5) Bill Clinton was responsible for deregulating the financial system. As a result of removing laws that were put into place, to prevent a depression, he helped to start a chain reaction that lead up to our current crisis.

(6) Etc...

People forget the little things. I don't. I can tell a lot about a person by looking at their environment. While most people only observe the conditions of a person's home, I observe the items that are laying around. Photos, type of plants, wallpapers, color of paint, etc... I am able to learn a lot about a person within the first ten minutes.

I was trained to do so.

When I go into a job interview, I look for sculptures and other art pieces. I am able to tell how a person thinks by the type of art they own. I can also tell you exactly where, when, why, and how the piece was created. I can also tell what a society was like around the artist.

I was trained to observe.

When people post in these forums (and others), they dismiss the origin of the person who is replying. Why? Knowing a person's age, education, and environment reflects their answers. As a result of not being observant online, life in some nations has become a wreak.

Example: Socialism is a historical keystone in the progression towards communism. As a result of several of our young US citizens being exposed to those who live in socialism, (foreigners who were brought up thinking it is acceptable), our own citizens are now moving towards it. They are dismissing the historical aspect of its usage. Thanks to the World Wide Web.

Well, as I said in previous post, there are billions of asleep people that use the net for their everyday work, finding a contractor, speaking with their loved ones, etc, etc, etc.

France had a revolution where the people were so angry they marched on the palace and I do believe tptb were beheaded.

And in Ireland not many years ago there was a female journalist who was a wife and mother and reported on drug lords. She kept going eventhough she was severely beaten and ignored their threats to her life. She kept writing and ended up with a bullet in her head while driving home.

The Irish people I believe took to the streets they were so angry and kicked the drug pushers out themselves and the drug lords were convicted and their possessions conviscated.

Just goes to show what some of the public can do when they really want to Mr Viceroy.
