People forget the little things. I don't. I can tell a lot about a person by looking at their environment. While most people only observe the conditions of a person's home, I observe the items that are laying around. Photos, type of plants, wallpapers, color of paint, etc... I am able to learn a lot about a person within the first ten minutes.
I was trained to do so.
When I go into a job interview, I look for sculptures and other art pieces. I am able to tell how a person thinks by the type of art they own. I can also tell you exactly where, when, why, and how the piece was created. I can also tell what a society was like around the artist.
I was trained to observe.

Example: Socialism is a historical keystone in the progression towards communism. As a result of several of our young US citizens being exposed to those who live in socialism, (foreigners who were brought up thinking it is acceptable), our own citizens are now moving towards it.
