Dead Mermaid Washed up on the Shore?

<<  1    2  >>

Topic started on 25-9-2009 @ 01:11 AM by TwiTcHomatic

Here is the Video first... www.liveleak.com...

My opinion.. I do not really believe in "mermaids", but it it appears someone went to alot of trouble with this video.

The person taking the video was pretty calm considering he was standing so close to a seemingly mythical creature.

The hair seems a little to clean for something that was in the water and is now on the sand.

What do you think?

I'm gonna go with a hoax on this one. You made some good points about it being too clean. Not to mention, why would it be "propped" up in the manner it is? Was it doing push-ups when it died?

It definitely looks like it's a hoax. Another thing that gives it away for me is the way it looks, kinda like plastic. and the way the tail fin thing is curved up.

Uh, the cameraman was walking slowly, swinging the camera slowly, toward the "mermaid"? Too dramatic? What?

UH. Do I need to spell it out?

That was a good fake.I think the top bit is a woman acting. The rest of her body is in the sand. The bottom bit is a good model.

I did a bit of a search on this one, but couldn't find anything.

What I did find was one that screames HOAX and another very SIMILAR to the one in the OP.

There is also this other thing that washed up on a beach, but I should warn everyone that it's in the advance stages of decomposition.
Unknown creature was found by soldiers ???Any ideas of what it could be???,,Komodo Dragon maybe??

Of coarse it’s a hoax. Every one knows that Mermaids bury their dead right next to the Elephant graveyard…

Quite sad that someone went to all that effort.
Clearly a fake.

I can't watch the video right now. Hotel internet is awful. But this video didn't take place in Israel by any chance, did it? There was a thread a few months back of multiple Mermaid sightings in Israel. They were offering some kind of reward for anyone who came up with some proof. So I suspect that's the purpose of this video if it's not just for comical purposes.

The video is of someone walking along the beach with a camera. THey happen upon a 'mermaid' propped up on it's arm, the fin part of the tail slightly curled up and one hand outstretched.

Clearly fake.

Throw her in the water she'll come back to life everyone knows this.

The nice looking hair hair kills it for me, otherwise it's looks great, well done whoever made it.

It looked like a manequin or hollywood prop.

There were no insects feeding on the corpse. Judging from the condition and posture, Hoax.

The "unknown creature" found by the soldiers was proven to be a decomposed whale. I think it was a Beluga whale but I'm not positive.

Hosted by www.theync.com...

Was a bit surprised at what the site turned out to be. Now I'm not trying to be a prune or anything like that but as it concerns sources for serious investigation that site would probably not make it to the list of reliable sources. (warning: the site has extensive pornographic/violent/offensive content)

As hoaxes go there are plenty more believable hoaxes out there. Probably Juan Cabana sculpting again (as was mentioned above - he really loves making mermaid sculptures)

Cheers.

Obviously, Disney had to cut her loose.

She ran out of benefits like all others in these bad economic times.

And she came ashore looking for hope.

I blame the whales. They set a bad example for all water creatures whenever they decide it is a good day to go to the beach.

EDIT to add:

- For all the sea creatures out there whether you are a fish, a myth or a hoax... tanning is bad for you!

Your not kidding it's been awhile since I've seen stuff that bad.

edit to clarify

By bad I mean the violence, not the porn.

Yes. I was just trying to figure out the source of the video and was expecting to find a shady source but didn't expect to find that big a cesspool.

Completely off topic side note - awesome banner. Nightbreed is a cult movie.
