I need knowledgeable advice about vasectomies. I have an appt scheduled for the procedure but I have read up about vasectomies and there are reports of complications. Chronic pain, loss of sensation, even impotence. Yet the nurse I talked too never heard of any complications. If it's so safe, why are their problems?

I need advice before I go thru with this. I am nervous about it.

Why are you posting this in a conspiracy forum? Are you suggesting your nurse is involved in a conspiracy concerning vasectomies?

You are much better off going to a health forum, going to webmd, or simply asking your doctor.

Try ehealthforum.com...

*Because that is where his e-friends are.

...And vasectomies are obviously associated with the population control agenda with which we are so familiar.

It appears our friend's future children may fall victim to this conspiracy.

I posted this in Medical Issues. Your answer was not what I was looking for.

I wish I could help, but I know there is risk of future problems.

A friend's dad had gotten a vasectomy many years back.... And then came the point when he would need a needle to get it up again.

I have only heard about this complication from my close friend. I wish I had more details.

But, needless to say, my friend's dad lost his wife and died a very lonely man.

This is why I opted to get fixed myself. Being female, the Essure procedure was really painless, and completed in minutes. I would seriously suggest your girl look into this. I wouldn't risk my guy's 'manhood' for anything.

A few friends and family of mine has had it done. They haven't had any complications. Both my dad and brother were back to work in 2 days and they work construction.

Find a good doctor and ask a bunch of questions during the mandatory sit down. If he can't answer all your questions up to your standards then find one who can.

I had it done.

1) Hope your doctor has a skilled hand.

2) Use lots of ice afterwards (24hrs).

Results: Both me and my wife love it.

Im trying to help you....

You can get much more informed and intelligent responses from an online health community than you can from ATS concerning this topic. Why ask people on ATS when you can ask a doctor?

Ask the doctor. Get free medical consultation and advice. Choose a medical specialist and post your question! Doctors in all medical fields are available.

www.doctorslounge.com/ask.htm

Am I out of line in pointing out that you are on the completely wrong website for your question?

With all due respect, I believe Blueracer has every right to ask this question. ATS is an "Alternative Topics" website and it too me was placed in the correct "Medical Issues" forum.

This thread may be helpful to other members that may undergo the same procedure and are looking for the same answers. It is comments like yours that deter other members from asking such questions.

With that, I am unable to really answer your question as I am only 19 years old. But I thought you might find this site some what helpful in regards to the topic.

I've known people who've had vasectomies.

The swelling is the worst.

If you go for one, make sure you bring ice packs. Grab an instant-activation kind just in case because you will be sore.

Plus the swelling can cause other problems and the cold helps to get that under control.

Now by getting a vasectomy you might not get more sex. In fact, your subconscious will clue in instantly that it is shooting blanks and this can affect your mindset, moods etc.

Your very reason to be sets nestled in that sac. Right now, your mind and instincts are geared to getting the contents to fallopian tubes - but when you take that away, it will have an effect. (Even if you already have children)

You might become a carefree stud and git yerself some more often

...But then again you might not, as you will have realized that your amorous ways were propelled by an instinctual, subconscious desire to procreate and extend your line and not based purely on pleasure, as you mistakenly thought in your younger days.

Even in old age, there is something satisfying about knowing that one has the capability to repopulate the planet, and can access it at any time without having to undergo surgical procedures.

This is a big decision, and it will have consequences. So if you decide to go ahead with it, you should consider them all - and also have cold packs at the ready.
