Probably. Yeah.

1. I will be living in dorms, which spread disease like wildfire. And most of the people up at my school are anti-vaccine, so it will be even worse, because they will all have it.

2. I get the flu shot every year anyway, so it's not the first time I've been vaccinated against an influenza strain.

3. I have a weak immune system and when I get sick, I get sick.

4. Mom works in the city, so even if I didn't get it up at school, she could bring it home if I'm home on break (but she would probably be vaccinated, too, because she works in a medical office.)

5. If I was ever going to have an issue with a vaccine, I think it would have happened by now. But I've had tons, I'm getting the HPV one in a few weeks, and the only problem that I've ever had is getting Pertussis in 6th grade when I didn't get my full DPT because it gave me a fever as a baby. Permanent lung weakness. From the Pertussis that I got from NOT getting a vaccine.

Can I Get Mine Now?

I will have samples to analyze next week. Then we will see if you really want the vaccine.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

I am suggesting those who do take the shots report back to us if they did well or had problems.

I am not taking them. I have had severe allergies and was told never to take a flu shot by my doctor.

Normally I have no problem with the idea of immunization and take tetnus and others if I can. But after the Baxter screwup I do not trust the flu vaccines. cGMP requirements means the bio-weapon flu should never have been anywhere need a production facility. Double check, Double signatures, label control...all are designed to prevent that problem

I won't take it, no matter what.

And I've adviced everyone I know they shouldn't either- ...
but it's their choice at the end...

Most people in my city have totally freaked out and are more than willingly to get the shot of the "holly vaccine" -

Personally im not sure. I am going to get flu shots just so I can detect any sickness beyond the flu in my house but still not sure man. To me they just aint had enough time to make it.

But if forced vaccinations began to happen then most def. not.

The shot doesn't seem to be such a good idea to me. It just seems to be a whole lot of mercury and squalene plus a little bit of science.

Just think, most of the doctors who will be giving you the shot and being paid to do so, do not regularly get flu shots themselves. If it is so good for you why is it no good for them?

Also just think about this colossal mistake. Walmart is thinking about giving out the vaccine. What great corporate thinker coughed this idea up?

They will be forever remembered for promoting a dangerous and quite possibly useless vaccine to the American public.

There went my whole oration -- off to the cornfield thanks to my cat walking on the keyboard. It's your lucky day Fred!

Thanks for asking the question; interesting to read everyone's perspective.

I won't be getting any influenza vaccines, and neither will my Bride. I really urge everyone to research this issue thoroughly -- don't listen to me or anyone else -- just research, list the pros and cons, make a decision that you think will result in the best wellness strategy for your family.

Be well!

I'm a HELL NO.
I've never gotten the flu in my life. In general I enjoy robust animal health. I have never taken any flu vaccination
I don't see why they are spending so much to buy vaccines when so few have died and the vaccines won't be efficacious, particularly.
If they make it compulsory, I still won't. (I'm pretty good at things like that...it'll be fun...they will lose interest before I do, I bet)
The whole affair is either peculiarly stupid or deeply suspicious, I vacillate as to which interpretation is correct...

Maybe after all those people get the shots they are in for a rude awakening, especially men. They probably won't be able to get it up with even a crane.

Mark my words, the vaccine will shoot Viagra sales through the roof. But even then, they will be shooting "blanks".

I have done a lot of research about this strand of (a)H1N1 virus, putting all good and bad aside I have determand that I will not take the vaccine. I have never gotten a flu shot before this event began and will take what ever punishment that comes my way for making MY choice not to take it now. If I am forced? I guess they will have to detain me or kill me but I will not take it!

I can understand it for persons in high risk arenas.

On a personal level my feelings are...

Just say no to genetic puss!

I'm a NO also, but something to think about. The more "robust" your immune system, the more likely you are to die from this strain (if it continues to mimic Spanish Flu). Your immune system will destroy the lining of your lungs. Smokers and those with weaker immune systems seem to fare better?!?

A related story I came across this morning -- Vaccination Myths and Truths, written by Stephen Lendman at countercurrents.org.

The author leans heavily on the document: Dispelling Vaccine Myths by Alan Phillips.

______________

While I personally believe many of these ideas are sound, I'm not attempting to sway anyone's opinion, just providing some thoughtfood to chew upon.

Um, no thanks... I have a very rare ability nowadays... it's called a fully functioning immune system.

I kinda feel for those that have had deaths in their families with this stuff, but you know, with a society that was brought up on anti-bacterial EVERYTHING, it's no flippin' wonder everyone gets sick at the first sign of anything.

I read several years ago about a local boy (about 10 or 12 years old seems like) that caught chicken pox... and DIED three days later. Can you believe it? I guarantee that Mommy and Daddy kept he house downright sterile and had all the anti-bacterial products that they could find in the house. Poor kid never had a chance with such a poor immune system.

Just my thoughts, and if for some reason it's suddenly "mandatory"? Well, add me to the list of rebels then. No way on this planet, short of injecting my dead body, with they give me ANYTHING like that on a "mandatory" basis.

No thanks. I won't be getting it.

There are a number of reasons why, one of which is that I'm too paranoid.

I have a very able and functional immunity system and am rarely ill at all.
But this kicked the crap out of me.
I'm half way though day 2 of my course of Tamiflu.
Already I feel a hell of a lot better.
Is it a natural thing or Tamiflu doing what it's supposed to do?
I don't know.
All I know is that I should be able to go back to running my pub tomorrow thus saving me paying wages above my budget.
And I will be able to see some people who are close to me who I haven't been able to for a few days.
And for them reasons alone I really don't give a toss what has helped me get shot of that horrible twat of a virus!!

I realize that by and large this is an anti vaccine crowd
but how many of you if push comes to shove would take the vaccine on a voulentary basis?

Given my job, I will be among the first group that get the vaccine. I view it as an essential step in protecting myself but more importantly protecting my family. I do interfacility transport of pediatric patients who mostly come from outside ER's so Im exposed all the time to the bug du jor from some of the sickest kids and thier families. Same goes for people working in the ER, EMS, Fire, Police etc.

So setting aside forced vaccinations, interment camps, etc, please tell me if you would get it or not and why? We have plenty of threads to go over the evil drug companies and like issues, I am more interested in hearing why YOU would not and reasons for it

I will get the vaccine for the reasons noted above.

I spoke with my father about this yesterday, he's a doctor...
He said the hospital is telling the employees all the time to take the vaccine but most dont really bother, he didnt really felt much for it..And actually the more people around you take it the more they protect you, so the less reason why you have to take it yourself..
I dont really bother taking the vaccine or tamiflu, in fact with the resources we can get via the hospital i'll try and help most of my friends when tshtf..Most vaccines are safe in the city's hospital here...I think i'd rather take the risk of eventual side effect s[which patient information leaflets tells you all the time] then indeed getting this flu #..

And oh yeah i'll be sure to have my bottle of havana club or mulata [7 years] within reach

Im in a unique position it seems. My job is such that I am in effect a first responder and worse, I will be confined in a chopter, aircraft, or ambulance with kids that are infected thus increasing my risk of exposure many times over compared to the general population.

Interesting replies so far. I expected a heavy anti-vaccine lean but not this dramatic
