Here's my contribution.

Pearl Jam, 'Black'. It's one of my favourite songs, always sends a shiver down my spine.. I was in tears when I saw them play this in '06...
Also, props to the dude who posted 'Last Kiss' it's a great one.

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a sun
In somebody else's sky
But why
Why
Why can't it be
Why can't it be mine

Once you know what this song is about, and why it's been written, it is a real tear jerker.

This song was written shortly after the death of her son....in memorium...

Probably been posted before... but if it hasn't then it should be:

One of the rawest, most heartfelt performances I've ever seen. Not only is he a great musician, but you can tell he feels every word that comes out of his mouth.

I am showing my age but these are some of the saddest songs I have ever heard.

If you have ever been in love and lost them to soon you will understand.

Bobby Goldsboro- Honey

Bobby Golsboro-Autumn of my life.

This is an old classic sung By Roy Clark.

Here's my list:

Kate Bush - This Woman's Work Lyrics

Pray God you can cope.
I stand outside this woman's work,
This woman's world.
Ooh, it's hard on the man,
Now his part is over.
Now starts the craft of the father.

I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.

I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking

Of all the things I should've said,
That I never said.
All the things we should've done,
That we never did.
All the things I should've given,
But I didn't.

Oh, darling, make it go,
Make it go away.

Give me these moments back.
Give them back to me.
Give me that little kiss.
Give me your hand.

(I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.)

I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking

Of all the things we should've said,
That were never said.
All the things we should've done,
That we never did.
All the things that you needed from me.
All the things that you wanted for me.
All the things that I should've given,
But I didn't.

Oh, darling, make it go away.
Just make it go away now.

Martika- Toy Soldiers lyrics

Step by step, heart to heart, left right left,
We all fall down like toy soldiers.

It wasn't my intention to mislead you,
It never should have been this way. What can I say?
It's true, I did extend the invitation,
I never knew how long you'd stay.

When you hear temptation call,
It's your heart that takes, takes a fall.
Won't you come out and play with me

Step by step, heart to heart, left right left,
We all fall down like toy soldiers.
Bit by bit torn apart, we never win,
But the battle wages on for toy soldiers.

It's getting hard to wake up in the morning,
My head is spinning constantly. How can it be
How could I be so blind to this addiction
If I don't stop the next one's gonna be me.

Only emptiness remains, it replaces all, all the pain.
Won't you come out and play with me

Step by step, heart to heart, left right left,
We all fall down like toy soldiers.
Bit by bit torn apart, we never win,
But the battle wages on for toy soldiers.

Only emptiness remains, it replaces all, all the pain.
Won't you come out and Play with me?

Step by step, heart to heart, left right left,
We all fall down like toy soldiers.
Bit by bit torn apart, we never win,
But the battle wages on for toy soldiers.

Step by step, heart to heart, left right left,
We all fall down like toy soldiers.
Bit by bit torn apart, we never win,
But the battle wages on for toy soldiers.

Johnny Cash- Hurt lyrics (originally by Nine Inch Nails)

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

[Chorus:]
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here

[Chorus:]
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

I listed the Johnny Cash version of Hurt as I find it to be a sadder and more poinent version of the song.

I've always loved this sad song of breaking up by " Henry Lee Summer "

" Darlin' Danielle Don't "

" Mad World " by Gary Jules

" Hallelujah " by Jeff Buckley

And I'll never forget the day that Eric Clapton lost his son at the young age of 4 years.
" Tears In Heaven "

That's all for me. Hope these songs help.

How could you be, so perfect for me?
