UPDATE: At the time this post was published it appears as though we may have been misinterpreting the section of US Code covered by this Executive Order. While this EO may not necessarily cover Obama’s birth certificate

Look's as if Carl was wrong about the executive order.

Did anyone bother to read the executive order referenced in the OP or did you just take the hype as is?

I don't think anyone read what that executive order is. I mean at least not from the real source.

Remember people can lie on the internet. People do it all the time. But if you take the time to do the research yourself you can find out some pretty interesting stuff.

Take this for example, Executive Order 13489 Presidential Records.

Sec. 2. Notice of Intent to Disclose Presidential Records.

(a) When the Archivist provides notice to the incumbent and former Presidents of his intent to disclose Presidential records pursuant to section 1270.46 of the NARA regulations, the Archivist, using any guidelines provided by the incumbent and former Presidents, shall identify any specific materials, the disclosure of which he believes may raise a substantial question of executive privilege. However, nothing in this order is intended to affect the right of the incumbent or former Presidents to invoke executive privilege with respect to materials not identified by the Archivist. Copies of the notice for the incumbent President shall be delivered to the President (through the Counsel to the President) and the Attorney General (through the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel). The copy of the notice for the former President shall be delivered to the former President or his designated representative.

(b) Upon the passage of 30 days after receipt by the incumbent and former Presidents of a notice of intent to disclose Presidential records, the Archivist may disclose the records covered by the notice, unless during that time period the Archivist has received a claim of executive privilege by the incumbent or former President or the Archivist has been instructed by the incumbent President or his designee to extend the time period for a time certain and with reason for the extension of time provided in the notice. If a shorter period of time is required under the circumstances set forth in section 1270.44 of the NARA regulations, the Archivist shall so indicate in the notice.

BARACK OBAMA

THE WHITE HOUSE,
January 21, 2009

Source: www.whitehouse.gov...

So if we are to actually read the executive order rather than listening to whatever blog Carl has written. We can start to see the truth.

What this was referring to was the previous administrations hidden memos. Does anyone remember those?

This is classic...

An Obama bashing thread with an OP that cites an article that is so out there that the author had to print a retraction stating he was wrong.

The OP gets 50 flags.

You post the retraction the author wrote and ...a single star for you...

Deny Ignorance? Or champion it?

You had to produce your state record birth certificate in order to get a job? Are you working on top-secret military technology? And your driver's license? All I had to do was provide my SSN and proof of residence.

...Are you sure you're employed and have a driver's license?

First, I'm a registered Republican. I'm not a neocon. I believe the real GOP is in exile, replaced in our government by the current evangelical-obsessed, control-happy imposters.

Having said that, I believe that if Obama were to decide to release his "full"birth certificate, whatever that means, I doubt that it would be accepted by those that dislike the Obama presidency, and the document would be deemed a forgery anyway. The naysayers would go on further about how the evil Obama has further taken control of every facet of our government, and pressed someone, somewhere to make his original disappear and replace it with a more acceptable version.

Being a true conservative, there are many things I find disagreeable about his proposed and current policies, but when I stood behind the curtain in the voting booth I found the alternative to be unacceptable.

What now?

Well, I win nothing, as a matter of fact, I lose my a$$ when the tax hikes and socialized medicine (treatment rationing) kicks in.

Here's a suggestion for liberals who want to shut down the "born in Kenya" controversy.

In the spirit of Kennedy-McCain amnesty bill for all illegals and their families, do what the illegals do well - produce a real and authentic birth certificate [for your "president"]!

It's real easy, illegals do it all the time.

Border jumpers know how easy it is to get anything from a birth certificate to a green card.

I just got done posting on another thread discussing this exact thing. Speaking solely for myself, I am not a neocon, a republican, an Obama hater or anything else like that. I am simply posting a thread to provoke discusion and debate with other members of ATS. Period. I do believe that the simply fact that You and I would and do have to show so much proof of who we are that asking for proof of his long form birth certificate is not out of the question. So please take your "Hater" arguements to another thread lol...

It's a different matter to showing your Passport/Birth Cert for an
Official ID, and having it posted on the Internet, Newspapers, TV.

That would be just begging for Identity Theft and would be pretty
Irresponsible for Newspapers and TV to do that.

And, surely the Electoral Office must have cited those records in
order to register as a Candidate in the first place, otherwise what's
the point of registering.

So now that we have proven that this article is a hoax, can we have this thread moved to the appropriate forum?

After all, the article is a hoax, the author admitted it himself.

After re-reading the thread a few times, I am willing to concede that my views on the issue were wrong and misguided. The fact of the matter is that more evidence has been presented to show that he was born in Hawaii than there is that he was born in Kenya. He has produced a birth certificate that states he was born in Hawaii, and the relevant authorities have confirmed that he was born there. Unless some concrete, solid evidence comes forth that challenges the fact that he was NOT born in Hawaii, logically I would have to say he was born there and is eligible to be President.

Way to go!
Make up your own mind about the issue. This is the reason that I hound these threads. It's obviously not for the points or the flags. It's because the truth is the truth.

Before getting into this subject I looked at it. I kept an open mind. When the facts presented themselves, and the opposition failed to generate anything of a credible concern I had a choice to make. Would I accept the official story as told. Or would I go with the people that continuously make up crap in order to prove their point?

It's a personal judgment call. Do you believe what they are telling you, or do you believe what some others are telling you. Who has what to back up their claims? That's the key.

There are groups out there that don't like Obama, they don't like what he stands for (and as it is the whole socialist thing, ill have to tend to agree with them) So they try and discredit him any way they can.

But this issue hasn't really ever been about where Obama was born. The reason it isn't is because the Electoral College voted for him. The Congress vetted and confirmed him and the chief justice of the Supreme court swore him in.

The real issue here is distraction.

Those that believe in this issue are distracted from what a democratically controlled Congress and White House are really doing. What they are doing is not good for America. It's not good for the republic and it is not good for the constitution.

The reason Obama doesn't release his "long form" or confront this issue on a daily basis is that it is good to keep people that would otherwise be hypercritical of every move that Obama makes distracted. Keep them on a non issue. Keep them on something that doesn't matter because it isn't true. Keep them deflected from the real problems this administration is causing.

Like Healthcare Reform, the Stimulus money, other social programs that will ultimately lead to a weakening of this countries freedoms. They know this particular issue is moot and already resolved, so they themselves go ahead and propagate the myth and do whatever they can to keep this issue alive and kicking and thus keep people distracted away from the real issues, the real problems and the real bad things that Obama will do as President.

It's a joke to the administration at this point.

"I certainly hope, by the 4th year of our administration that we will have dealt with this burgeoning birth controversy." White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

Why would he say that in particular? Is it because the Obama administration will wait for the entire term to deal with with this issue?

No

It's because this is a great distraction for people. It keeps focus on a non issue and away from what they really have planned.

He basically is saying this.

Listen, Hawaii has authenticated Obama's birth certificate, has authenticated that he was born there, believe what you want to, we have disclosed the evidence on our side to you. If you don't want to believe it GOOD!

Anyone? Anyone at all?

So let's say Obama DOES produce a legal birth certificate, short and long... and hell, offers a piece of his umbilical cord for DNA sampling... how many of you would accept that?

Hello? Anyone?

Really... would any of you accept the fact the the document was an actual birth certificate, issued by the state... knowing that it could be forged or faked by the government?

You guys just won't be happy with any answer.

(no, I do not support Obama... but man, give it a break already)

bravo!! i said much the same to my husband about a half hour ago... i have predominantly been pushed into researching these things because he got on youtube and found all sorts of nwo fema death camp train etc. videos and well... let's just say i'm a skeptic. not necessarily a disbeliever, but a skeptic, in what i believe to be the truest healthiest sense of the word

and this whole birth certifcate fiasco didn't add up for me, because if the gov't and the "nwo" is so all powerful, to fake and verify a birth certificate = PIECE OF CAKE

would they have rather had mccain and his scary-eyed stepford wife?!

Can you underline where it says he has banned releasing his birth certificate?

That's going to be difficult since the order has to do with records directly relating to his term in office, not his birth, schooling, or prior membership in secret time travel clubs.

That's not quite right.

I have nothing to hide in my closet AND you can't look there.

It says so. In the Constitution of the United States of America. It is Un-American for you to demand the right to invade my privacy in this way.

Except I live in Australia now and there is no such provision in the Australian Constitution. But Obama doesn't, and you have no right nor authority to go digging around in his closet.

And you still can't look in my closet. Because its none of your business and its the law.

Yet he hasn't. They guy wasn't born here. His family says he wasn't born here. Since day one of his campaign he's been dodging the whole B.C. issue. That shows he wasn't born here. Every other president proved it, its no different with this guy. Also last time I checked the government works for us the people. SO SHOW ME A DAMN BIRTH CERTIFICATE.
...

That is so much BS it is dumbfounding.

Every President has had to prove that they were eligible to whatever election authority was mandated by statutes then in force. True.

And Obama has had done exactly what he has had to do in exactly the same way every other presidential candidate has been required to do.

No president has ever had to show that proof to every citizen in the United States. And no president has ever had to show even more documentation to any citizen in the United States than that required by the statutory election authority.

Your assertion is so completely off-the-wall impossible that there are only two possible conclusions: 1) you are being mischievous or malevolent in pushing this issue or 2) you are so completely brain baked that you can no longer chew gum and breath at the same time, let alone think for yourself.

Georgy Washington does not have the birth certificate documentation that you claim he was required to provide. There may be a Baptism record in a church somewhere, but even that is doubtful, and you wouldn't believe it anyway since everyone knows that Washington was a secret Buddhist.

And there was no requirement to provide proof of 'natural born citizenship' in George Washington's time anyway. Washington wasn't born in the USA, he was born in Virginia Colony. And , The USA didn't exist. He only had to prove he was a citizen at the time of the Constitution's adoption. Was there a certificate for that?

Snopes article on the Obama Scholarship hoax

It is an April Fools joke that has gone interplanetary. Its perpetrator has admitted it was a hoax but it just won't go away.

About the only part of the story that is true is that he attended Occidental.

The only reason for perpetuating the story is for mischevious purposes.

this is what i have believed from day 1. it's ridiculous to believe that Obama would not have had to prove his eligibility to run for president....

"yes, we're going to let you run for the highest most powerful office in our land... and no, no... don't worry about the paperwork. we trust you"

that's laughable

unless of course Obama is a NWO/illuminati puppet, and though they had the forethought to implant a notice of his birth in a Hawaii newspaper, they never thought to just produce a fake birth certificate he could produce many years in the future when he ran for president.

because that was, after all, the plan all along... right from his birth
