Sept. 23, 2001 WAS a couple weeks after 9/11. And it wasn't just their names that needed "sorting out." The 9/11 "hijacker's" names were published along with their passport photos, nationalities, dates of birth and other personal information.
Since this was all a big mixup that simply needed "sorting out", why don't you tell us who the REAL hijackers were? You CAN'T because the government NEVER REVISED ANY INFORMATION on these so-called "hijackers." Since they didn't appear on any airline passenger manifest or government autopsy report, it's doubtful they ever existed, except as CIA/Mossad patsies.

No van was ever found packed with "tons of explosives." Police claimed sniffing dogs reacted to an empty panel truck. At some time in the past it might have carried something that made them respond. How about a female dog in heat?

You don't know whether the dancing Israeli's fake moving van contained explosives or not. These kind of details aren't typically released, but U.S. Army Radio, CBS News, Irish National News and the Jerusalem Post all reported that explosives WERE found. The History Commons article you posted notes that a nearby hotel was evacuated. Hotels usually aren't evacuated without good reason:

American security services overnight stopped a car bomb on the George Washington Bridge connecting New York and New Jersey.
The van, packed with explosives, was stopped on an approach ramp to the bridge.

Reports from New York are saying three people have been arrested with a van of explosives.
The van was stopped along the New Jersey turn-pike near the George Washington Bridge.
It was not clear why police stopped the van but when they did they found it was laden down with tonnes of explosives.

On June 5, 2006, the Muckraker Report contacted the FBI Headquarters, (202) 324-3000, to learn why Bin Laden’s Most Wanted poster did not indicate that Usama was also wanted in connection with 9/11. The Muckraker Report spoke with Rex Tomb, Chief of Investigative Publicity for the FBI. When asked why there is no mention of 9/11 on Bin Laden’s Most Wanted web page, Tomb said, “The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Usama Bin Laden’s Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11.”
Surprised by the ease in which this FBI spokesman made such an astonishing statement, I asked, “How this was possible?” Tomb continued, “Bin Laden has not been formally charged in connection to 9/11.” I asked, “How does that work?” Tomb continued, “The FBI gathers evidence. Once evidence is gathered, it is turned over to the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice than decides whether it has enough evidence to present to a federal grand jury. In the case of the 1998 United States Embassies being bombed, Bin Laden has been formally indicted and charged by a grand jury. He has not been formally indicted and charged in connection with 9/11 because the FBI has no hard evidence connected Bin Laden to 9/11.”

You don't know whether the dancing Israeli's fake moving van contained explosives or not. These kind of details aren't typically released, but U.S. Army Radio, CBS News, Irish National News and the Jerusalem Post all reported that explosives WERE found. Repeating: these are among the many inaccurate reports based on garbled information filed on Sept 11/2001. Note the date published for all 3 is Sept 12, 2001.
Hobbyist websites for the intellectually challenged have carried theses stories without qualification for 8 years.
Here's another Israeli source with an attempt to get their facts right:

Oh, I see -- you trust the Israeli news article about the dancing Israelis being arrested on charges of "plotting to blow up" a New York bridge on 9/11, but not the Jerusalem Post news article that quotes a U.S. Army Radio report of police finding a van "packed with explosives". You seem to be quite selective in your acceptance of some news reports, but not others.
So tell us -- why do you think the dancing Israelis were arrested and held incommunicado -- including being tied up without food or clothes and given "multiple polygraphs" -- for 71 days in an "FBI dungeon" on charges of "plotting to blow up" the George Washington Bridge? Immigration violations?
