Maybe I'm missing something on that page but from what I see those RC blimps are massive? The object in the video appears much smaller than that.

I'm tempted to put your a## on ignore for this thread I've watched that damn vid probably 12 times...stop frame and slow motion.

I don't think it's an adapted RC blimp, it seems to move off balance which would direct an RC blimp in whatever direction it was facing. I'm 100% convinced that it's an over-inflated 'something' being carried on the wind. It doesn't follow a straight line and begins to arc around once past the boat they are filming from.

I'm left with a couple of questions...
Why is the video edited?
Have they staged it?
If so, how? "WTF man, I mean WTF!?!"

Hey that would not be very nice now would it?

From what I have gathered Fritz Stammberger makes short films (no my knowledge he has 2) so he probably has some experience with edited videos, which could discredit him seeing how he could have the ability to mulipulate the video.

The video does have a well-made feel to it. Face close-ups are timely and far from clumsy. Then again, if the cameraman is experienced they would be. Why does he focus on the beardy guy? If the object was drawn like a kite on wire, the moment it's at it's closest is when he pans away. When it appears to be traveling fast..no reference points. I think the light and the clouds change quite a lot in the 4 minute vid and suggest it was filmed over a longer time frame.

t's annoying because I know it's just an over-inflated something and I'm dying to know the what and the how

A balloon but its powered quite well.
I have never seen a balloon that maneuverable.
I think you guys are wrong, look again.

Ok guys, I read through all the posts in this thread and I can't believe not a single one of you related this video to its counter-part.

This same object was filmed in GERMANY this month, May of 2009. Now the video quality of the second isn't as good, and you can't see it as close. I honestly am unsure if it's the same, but they share similarities. Check it out.

This isn't the most scientific approach to sussing the real mysteries from the hoaxes....I'm 100% it's a hoax. I've looked at inflatable dragons, turtles and dinosaurs. 'Inflatable turtles' Google image search scored a soft porno balloon site, apparently there's a fetish for bikini babes with balloons. I had a good look at several pages but couldn't identify the object in the video

The reason it's a hoax IMO is that the video has led most of us to suspect it's an inflatable something. The guy with the binoculars would have been left in no doubt what the object was. So if at least one of them knows, they all know. Posting it as a mystery on YT is a hoax. Set-up!

HAHA! Love the reactions. "What The F*#k is that!" It is strange, but just looks like an inflatable baloon to me!

I did laugh at their reactions but I had my own hilarious reaction to something I couldn't explain two years ago so I can't say much really. I even have it on film but you can't see anything because I thought my camera would be able to film things in pitch black but you can hear me and it's just as funny as the people in this video

This type has been on video before.
A black and white video taken from a helicopter.

There was a bright body but dark jets were jutting out.

It just looks like a large balloon to me. They make lots of differently shaped balloons for parties. One probably got away from someone on a cruise ship.
