So I guess it's just a coincidence that all the Bilderbergers just happen to embody the same oppressive agendas and all fit into a bigger NWO scheme like fingers in a glove. Gee whiz, looks like I can sleep easier tonight then.

Why is it not plausible? History is full of conspiracy.

****

Another great thread DD.

Just to give an international perspective to the Bilderbergers, here is a short list of portuguese personalities that have been known to attend:

José Manuel Durão Barroso. He was perhaps the worse prime minister in portuguese history. I don't think anybody liked him, in or out of his own party. Yet he leaves the post, while still in active duty, and heads up the European Parliment. Kissinger is reported to have said "One of the worse prime ministers in recent history, nevertheless he shall be our man in Europe". I'm quoting from my head, so accuracy can be disputed, nevertheless, the man is a Bilderberger. And he sucks.

José Socrates. I call him the portuguese Obama, as there is much doubts on who sponsored him to get a very dubious University degree. He is our current prime minister, and seems to be gunning for Barroso's reputation as worse prime minister ever.

Pedro Santana Lopes. Ran against Socrates in last elections and lost. Became prime minister for a while when Barroso jumped ship for europe. Has been president of Figueira da Foz (seaside casino town) and Lisbon (bigger seaside casino town with an airport). Well known night owl and bon vivant. Has 20 kids from 30 different women (ok, I kid, but you get the picture).

Pinto Balsemão. President of SIC (nice acronym, eh? Trust me, it fits), one of the major portuguese tv networks (if major and portuguese aren't oxymorons). Station is full of masonic type imagery. One of the set designers is an architect who was caught in a major sex scandal in the late 80's.

So let's say they all have dubious character at least. This is just so everyone feels better, we are all in the same ship. It's not just the US or the UK, these folks have their tentacles everywhere.

And conspiracy theory? What the heck?! Bilderberger group is conspiracy fact.

Cheers.

I still don't understand that they play the whole Bilderberg stuff this open.

I mean why would they announce their meetings and have a list of people who visit?

They don't.

Bilderberg meetings are closed to the press, participants are asked not to publicly discuss the proceedings and the attendee list is only occasionally released. As a result, the group has come to be viewed as a more publicity-shy cousin to the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations – other influential international think tanks that are staples of fringe group conversation.

Unlike Bilderberg, though, those organizations have opened their proceedings to public scrutiny, maintain websites and have long listed their members.
Even this isn't true. Only half of the transcripts from CFR meetings are publicly released. And when's the last time you heard ANY media organization so much as mention the Trilateral Commission?

"Fringe group conversation." Yeah, right. This ain't no Elks Club.

"Change We Can Believe In." HA!

Say hello to the new boss. Same as the old boss. extra DIV

Can we save some outrage for actual events?

Sure, the Bilderburg group meets and talks about things we don't know about. There are a thousand other meetings of power brokers just like this. We have the US Chamber of Commerce, which can be linked to crooked behavior. We have the World Trade Organization, that makes sure that 3rd world countries stay in debt.

It's more likely, that people of influence get invited to be influenced. But really, there is a lot of more obvious malfeasance going on. Why not get upset about the Fed; a group of bankers who lend us our own money, and periodically crash the financial system due to their own greed and mismanagement needing to be bailed out in order to make their yearly bonus obligations.

Or GM and Ford, who go bankrupt while building plants in Mexico and China. Their biggest cost outside of the 40% spent on executives, is the 10% they spend on labor. But really, they lobby to NOT have Universal health care, while Toyota gets to clean their clock because they operate in Japan where the healthcare is covered and the government subsidizes their production. But we can't let these companies fail or we lose another 3 million jobs.

Why not go after the military spending? Why do we have 750 military bases around the world if we aren't an empire? Why is 50% of our discretionary spending more than the entire rest of the planet necessary even when we are relatively at peace. Is a nuclear submarine going to chase down Bin Laden -- and what would be the point in spending on these things even if they are useful, when we have leadership that screws up and asks for more power at every turn?

There is enough to get upset about that appears on the news, is documented in the court rooms. I'm not saying there is NO conspiracy -- just that the evil is out in the open. People like Paulson turning a blind eye to all his friends in the financial services industry, and then suddenly declaring an emergency that requires almost a trillion dollars. Then, OF COURSE, the money is doled out without regard or keeping a receipt and the people taking it must be trusted and unfettered from the oversight of the rabble. The best we can tell, it was used to buy up other companies and on Christmas bonuses.

>> And even after all that, we don't have someone showing a photograph of these suspected members of Bilderburg -- without knowing that they are any MORE plotting than the usual country club. We just have some guy on a blog saying that Sebeleus is part of it and Obama's administration is rotten. Well, let's concentrate on facts and site examples of concrete actions. We are in a recession of great proportions and history has shown that government gets out of these by spending. So where is the conspiracy that Obama is pushing a few billion for high speed rails, or that the usual politicians are ear marking money for their pet projects? I see absolutely nothing in their ACTIONS, that shows anything but a response to a dire economic situation.

I am upset, however, that they aren't prosecuting all the people who caused the financial crisis, There are a thousand other Bernie Madoff's who aren't going to prison.

It's always a good rush to study reality based reality - excite? Well, sure. Studying the truth of a dream as old as humanity - world domination as it unfolds before you very eyes - it's truly divine. It's the same rush that a gazelle galloping at full speed attains before it barrels into the ground inexplicably and feels the force of the cheetahs maw bear down upon its neck - the sudden realization that something more powerful than you is about to obliterate your soul and absorb your energy into itself. Humanity is about to meet its new form - a horrifyingly beautiful architecture as ruthless as it is perfect - formed from the same universe but existing on some dimension utterly incomprehensible.

I believe everyone reading this thread should take the time to investigate the Pilgrim's Society. It's the next tier of the stairway to heaven.

You are not getting my point.

Federal Reserve stinks based upon what people have done there.

Paulson is a damn crook -- no argument there. I also don't trust Kissenger and Rockefellers -- due to ACTUAL history.

The Bilderburg group, while curious -- is a waste of time because #1 there is no info on what they talk about. #2 If anyone is trying to work their way up in government -- they'd never turn down such an invitation. Reality means, that all the power brokers who are going to get the job, are probably at one time or another going to be approached by the power brokers.

If Obama showed any overt dislike of these power brokers -- he would never have gotten to where he is. There isn't anyone who is going to be President in our lifetime, who isn't going to have to kneel at the seat of power before they get the job. The BEST you can hope for is someone smart enough to bid their time, and do the right thing when they get the opportunity.

It seems to me, that Obama is just such a person. He has done a LOT of things right, and improved transparency tremendously. I think that the banks have a gun to his head, and would shut down our economy and put us in a Great Depression, if they don't get their bad investments bought out by taxpayers. Obama can't prosecute George Bush for all his crimes, because of the NSA internal spying compromising so many people in government, and because Dick Cheney still has an Executive Hit Squad at his beck and call.

You can only know someone by their actions.

Everybody with a Wall Street and High Finance connection, is connected. Not that I'd want to trust these people, but the media and the Wall Street Journal and the banks -- they would raise a huge stink if anyone OUTSIDE their club were in an oversight position. And there is too much to solve.

I disagree with Obama's tactic -- but then again, I've never had to actually convince a group of self-interested, egotistical, overpaid Economic Royalists to pull together and suffer equally to stave off a Great Depression. If you can't arrest each and every person and force them to prove their loyalty to the country and its people -- then I guess you have to work with them, and hopefully put in place smart, slightly corrupt people who will do at least the top few items on your agenda.

Because the smart, honest, and loyal to the citizen folks, are NOT going to get a stamp of approval from anyone in power. Obama has to hire from the mobsters who at least are sentimental about helping America.

Neither of these assumptions is quite correct.

Have a look at this article from Nexus Magazine.

I'm kind of an agnostic on this stuff, and when I read it, I spoke to a friend in Germany because the article said they were going to put Angela Merkel in as German Chancellor:

The Bilderbergers also discussed how to dust off the "boring" image of Angela Merkel, Germany's "future leader"...

My friend thought this was laughable. Nevertheless, after a close election and some strange backroom negotiations, Merkel was duly victorious.

After that I started taking the Bilderberg thing a lot more seriously.

This from the Venus Project website

FULL DISCLOSURE This event will be at the TRIBECA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER in NYC, which will cost, in total, $4000 to rent, plus equipment / security / personalle / live webcast tech & insurance, which will cost $4500 more.

The cost of flying in The Venus Project and covering their stay will also be around $1000. Our total cost for producing this event will be around $9500 The theater seats 913 people. In the event tickets where sold to full capacity, we wouldn't break even after Expenses ($10 x 913=$9130).

We state this because we want to make sure no one assumes any of the actions of The Zeitgeist Movement are for profit. We are sorry to have to charge at all, but we need to have a way to differentiate between those who are very serious about attending ( and who might be coming from long distances ) and those who have a general interest, but might not show up.

Thanks for your understanding.

Anyone want to bet that the power brokers of the future are going to this meeting?

God help us all.

Very clever to put this story, makes us automatically link Bildeberg with crazy theories. The media seems to be shifting in a new direction.

Maybe the disclosure we've been seeing lately might just be a front to keep some of the population happy, while they demonize the most important topics in order to discredit our research.

You may soon be happy to be huddled around us. When the world economy tanks,(or other catastrophic event takes place), you will see martial law at the stores, banks and gas stations . Mass people will be confused, as lost sheep. Your friendly local police, military and possibly Civilian National Security Forces will direct you to a local fire department, school or other pre-arranged destination to receive an ID chip. Very simple to upload all your personal data to, social security number, banking info, medical info. Problem solved. No more identity theft, hacking the Feds database, on and on. It will seem to fix the worlds problems. They may even upload some credits just for signing up. Then you are welcomed to come back and ask some questions about what the hell is going on. If Internet is allowed at that time. Things will be much different than they are now. This is a global problem, which requires a global effort to fix it. The problem is how they will implement it. You seem interested in the subject. Why are you huddled here? I think I fell for your ploy.

Where is the "transparency" in allowing an $850 BILLION blank check to be handed over to the criminal banksters without any strings, oversight or explanations?

Do you really think not putting up a fight will avoid another Great Depression? Get ready for some Weimar Republic hyperinflation and a Very Great Depression that'll make the 1930s look like child's play.

To be honest, I would've had more respect for Obama if he'd stood up for the citizens like presidents Garfield, Lincoln and Kennedy tried to do, even knowing the outcome.

1881: Two weeks before he is assassinated, president James A. Garfield states, “Whoever controls the volume of money in our country is absolute master of all industry and commerce… when you realize that the entire system is very easily controlled, one way or another, by a few powerful men at the top, you will not have to be told how periods of inflation and depression originate.”

To far into the future? Just as far as we want are prone to believe, the truth behind the fact is, the US stealth bomber is the last secret plane to be exposed. What do they really have? (Bob Lazar)

So, this makes me have to ask. Either they are meeting for tea or to control the world or something in the middle. But no matter what it is, we dont have any proof. So I ask those that can, those that have the skill, go get the info.
Why not? An ex navy seal, or spec ops or even a covert ops, there has to be someone out there, that wants to know as much as we do and can get the job done. And I dont mean go in guns blazing , but plant some taps, record it and get out. It cant be hard for someone who has connections, the gear and the skill. And if these guys are just trading lame jokes just for fun, we can find out.

If the Bilderberg meetings are nothing more than harmless banter back and forth between world leaders and businessmen then why all the secrecy? Why not have a website and let the people of the world read the transcripts of their harmless debates and discussions?

From their last meeting they supposedly decided to bring down the world economy which would then allow war with Iran. Looks like that may be bearing fruit.

The best way to defeat them is out in the open. The only thing they really fear is full exposure and condemnation.

Ron Paul for president....of Texas.
