yes, after a couple of e-mails back and forth I told her all about it. Her reply was unexpected, she said something like, "I think we were meant to meet, for some yet unknown purpose..."

My reply to that was, I'm just approaching this as a "potential friend" "if possible"

Then a day later I send her a link to my youtube page (see above), just as a way we could possibly share music (she's a singer and I'm a bass player), I thought we could turn each other onto what we like.

The thing about my youtube page is that it has little video demos of the weird music machines I made in the past. I never received a reply back from her after that.

So, I started thinking are my machines that weird? Or do I come off as a weirdo in the video demos? She has previously seen my pic and seemed very interested in me.

The reason I put the link to my videos here was to get some feedback about them, not the content, but do they (and I) come off as weird/nutty?

I thought there was a chance that the last e-mail I sent with the link to my videos was tossed into her spam folder, because of the link. So yesterday I sent another e-mail. Essentially saying that I'm sending this last e-mail in case the last one got lost, and if you don't want to talk anymore that's ok, and thanks for talking.

I'm thinking about posting the e-mail correspondence here, of course with her anonymity.

Right after I just got finished reading her profile on yahoo personals I checked my e-mail and saw this:

Came across your ad and found it quite appealing - at first glance it looks like we have alot in common -
I'm sure you received many responses but perhaps one more ??

I'm 41 y.o. single(divorced) medical professional living in XXXXX. I love to cook (Italian background) and have a degree from XXXX College for Music -

I am not selling Amway products or trying to get you on a porn website as I'm told is typical with replys to ads

I have pictures I'll be happy to send you but cannot attach them to Craigslist due to the size -

I hope to hear from you - if not - good luck in your search for a new friend !

REGINA

My reply:

Hey Regina,

Thanks for writing. What did you study at XXXX? Do you play an instrument?

What area of the med profession do you work in?

(I appreciate not having to buy any amway or a porn site membership from you, it's a relief...)

Hope to hear from you soon,
Tony

2nd correspondence, keep in mind I had just read a girl named Regina's profile on a different personals site.

Tony -
I am actually a singer - I do play the guitar and can tink out notes on a piano if necessary -
I've attached a pic for your perusal -
[/qoute]

My reply:

Hey Regina,

Thanks very much for the pic, very cute.

You're a singer? Very nice. I play bass guitar mainly, but also electric guitar and classical.

This is going to sound strange, but before seeing your reply to my craigslist ad I think I read your profile on yahoo personals this morning. I have to back and check, but it was a very interesting profile.

You work in the med field? I was a pre-med in college, then switched to toxicology with a minor in chem. But now doing more creative/artistic stuff.

I'll attach my pic. Let me know if you'd like to talk more tonight.

Tony

Then she said:

Tony -
Thanks for the pic - you got that rough rugged look work, eh ?

I am on XXXX personals but I don't pay for the subcription so I normally just go in every now and then and delete messages- hmmm, hope you liked what you saw if it WAS me !

I do love my profession but if I could sing and make a living from it - that would be my dream.
I was singing in a piano bar in XXXXX on Fri/Sat nights for about a year and felt so guity everytime they handed me my pay - it's like a guilty pleasure to me - forget about accepting tips !

I'd love to talk more with you this evening if it's good for you -

REGINA

I said:

Regina,

Yes, I've been sporting a beard lately which I might shave.

Yeah, the profile was yours. I was scrolling through my "matches" this morning and read your profile, thought it was really nice, very interesting. Then went to check my mail and saw your reply to my craigs ad. When I saw your name in the e-mail, I thought, hmm, I just read a girl named Regina's profile. What a strange thing. (Strange in a nice way).

I think I know that piano bar, went there a few years ago. There was another little place over there called the Amadeus Cafe, but gone now.

So, you can really sing! Do you have any samples of your singing online or anything? PLEASE let me know I would love to hear. What type of music do you do? Do you write lyrics too?

We should talk more about music (and cooking). I'll write again tonight.

Tony

Then she said;

Tony -
Yes, I think I can carry a tune - or at least I've got lots of people fooled -
I did some demos for people but the songs were crap so I wouldn't want to use them -
I used to write my own lyrics but they were horrible - now I stick with singing American Popular Standards - that's my favorite genre to perform - then again I love to let my hair down with some classic rock as well -

Nice to find a man who likes to cook - I usually do my cooking on Sundays and that way I have meals for the whole week -

Look forward to chatting with you later tonight - BTW - where do you live ? I'm in XXXX .

REGINA

And I said;

Hi Regina,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you, I've been sick with a cold and passed out last night.

Do you play with a band currently? I had to look up the definition of "American Pop Standards", I wasn't sure if that included jazz, etc. (I feel dumb). But now I know what you're saying, interesting.

I'll give you a brief background of my musical journey, which may or may not be interesting.

I started studying classical guitar when I was a freshman in college, love Renaissance guitar, Baroque and Romantic period. Then picked up a bass and played with a hard rock band in early 90's, then a progressive instrumental rock band. I discovered "free improv" via the lower east side Manhattan and some recordings, John Coltrane, and things got weird. I've been on this "free improv" kick for a few years now, add experimental electronica, now things are really weird.

So these days playing music is a fun thing, recreational art. (Very recently re-discovered the bass after a few years of not playing it, having a lot of fun with it.) Been thinking about doing some composing, either a modern electronic chamber music thing, or combine electronics with acoustic (classical guitar) and write series of short pieces. Maybe in the near future, now I'm having fun just improvising.

Now for cooking. I just made Swiss Steaks a couple of nights ago. Cubed steak, dredged in flour and browned in frying pan with a oil and butter, remove steak. Add onions and crushed garlic to pan, saute, then "de-glaze" pan with some red wine and water. Add steaks, onions/garlic/contents of frying pan to dutch oven, add beef broth, cover and cook at 300 for about 2.5 hours. When close to done I added some corn starch mixed with small amount of water, and just stirred that in just to get the gravy alittle thicker, and of course during this whole thing I added salt/pepper to taste.

There's an alternate recipe which uses tomatoes, a little different. But this thing was great.

I usually cook very simple things ( a lot of pasta and sauce) but lately getting bored and trying new stuff, some are winners, some not so. My pasta sauces (meat, marinara) have finally gotten pretty good after 20 years of trying.

You have to tell me how you make your sauce! It's amazing to me how differently people make their sauce. I heard someone say they put maple syrup in their's... yikes. My grandmother would hit me with her big wooden spoon if I ever did that.

Let me know when you get a chance what things you like to cook, and I'm also wondering what might be some of you "musical" ideas, plans or dreams.
Do you speak Italian? (What part of Italy did your family originate?)

Hope to hear back,
Tony

Now I tell her about the dream, and the synchronicity that occurred.

Hey Regina,

I believe this is going to come off as very nutty. I don't expect you to want to write after this. But after thinking about it I thought maybe I should tell you this.

I was very hesitant, but I have found it too interesting not to tell someone. I'm a little perplexed (and astonished.) I'm not one of those "new age" or psychic mumbo jumbo "believers". I do occasionally have one of those premonition-style dreams once in awhile, which are always like, I'd dream I found a baseball card while walking to the store, and lo I would find a baseball card when walking to the store. Nothing you can win the lottery with, nothing with deep meaning, just everyday trivial things.

I've had these types of dreams since I was a kid, but they don't really happen often, once in a blue moon kind of thing. I believe most people do have such dreams, but most people forget their dreams.

I know I risk having you think I'm a nut, and thought that's ok, this was interesting enough to risk that and I should at least tell someone about. There might be a chance I could be telling this to someone who is nuts, but realized you're probably a professional and most likely not nuts.

About 2 months ago I had a dream where I saw a girl. There was no interaction in the dream, no talking, etc. It wasn't a romantic dream. It was just a dream where I saw a girl, wearing a long skirt, boots. When I woke I tried to remember the girl's name and I thought it might have been "Rebbecca", I thought that name was about 80-90% accurate, but wasn't sure.

Thought it was an interesting dream, but that was all. Now yesterday, I was scrolling through the yahoo personals and came across your profile. I thought, that girl looks like the girl from my dream. Then I saw one picture of you wearing a long denim skirt and boots. Exactly what I saw in my dream. So I just thought that was interesting. I do occasionally have dreams of things I see later, usually just objects like the baseball card example, and just thought maybe I'll send you a message in the near future and just say hi. But, I thought this was just one of those things I experience now and then, I was writing it off and forgetting about it.

This is the part that I find interesting: Right after that I immediately logged off of the yahoo personal site and checked my e-mail. I saw an e-mail from someone named "Regina", and thought to myself how strange, I was just reading a girl named Regina's profile on yahoo personals. I didn't think it was the same person. Then when you sent your pic I was surprised, it was your profile I was just reading, it was the same person. The photo of you wearing the skirt and boots (on your profile) is exactly what I saw in my dream. Also, very accurate from my dream was your appearance (face, hair), your size. The image of the person in my dream, the girl was very petite (short).

Now, I don't think this is any kind of whacky "destiny" or fate thing. I don't believe in those things. Nor do I think it has any romantic significance, or deeper meaning. I just find this very interesting (maybe astonishing) in a down to earth kind of way. I try to think of these things in a more scientific way.

I know there are probably a lot of girls who look like the girl I saw in that dream, who wear similar clothes, are petite, etc. But right after I saw that picture, remembered the dream, you e-mailed me. I have never had such a coincidental event like that occur.

I don't think there is any "deeper" meaning to it, except maybe you were destined to give me a really great recipe or musical advice. Or you should tell me to buy a certian stock, etc. Seriously though. I'm not a believer in that kind of stuff, except to believe in the science behind such things, then to be amused, chalk it up as one of those unusual/interesting things and move on. I'm not one to get "fixated" on anything like this. I'll just talk about it and then move on.

So just to recap (if I hadn't done that already), there was nothing romantic or anything like that associated with my dream, it was just a picture of a girl. It was a nice, very brief dream. I thought wow, what a nice/cute girl, a vivid image, then that was it.

I'm not one of those people looking for my "soul mate", not at all. I'm not even looking for love/romance at all, (only to chat with someone with similar interests). I'm a guy who is very happy with his life, I love my life, find it very fulfilling, have a lot going on and have many creative plans and business goals. In other words please don't worry about this, you didn't happen across a nut case/stalker. This is just about the nuttiest thing I have ever done, tell someone something like this.

So don't worry, if you're not interested in talking anymore no problem. I completely understand, I just wanted to tell someone about this interesting thing that happened to me, and who better than someone you don't know, it's anonymous and there's no embarrassment.

Please understand, I'm not thinking any weird stuff like we were "meant to be", or we are "soul mates" or any nutty stuff like that. That's not anywhere near what I'm thinking. I'm thinking, yes I have had these little premonition dreams before, insignificant stuff that I think a lot of people do have. But this particular coincidence is interesting enough to say something about, then forget it and move on.

If by any chance you are still interested in chatting via e-mail just let me know, any time if ever. I can send you a recipe for a steak/rice recipe. It's actually skirt steak with a balsamic vinaigrette, on top of rice. You can easily substitute the steak with chicken cutlets or even fish (flounder, lemon sole, etc.)

Again, if this came off as completely nuts to you, which I imagine it did, no problem I completely understand and wish you well, and thanks for talking.

*Unless you have any questions about this, I'm going to forget all about this stuff after I send the e-mail. So please feel free to inquire, and if not have a great, happy life, it was nice talking.

Tony

P.S.

(I see the humor in many things, and this is also a little funny to me. Me telling you about this. perhaps the "cosmos" is telling me should I tell you not to use too much pepper in your gravy. Or maybe you should tell me to use more chicken instead of beef. Or that cilantro is the new parsley! But seriously, I do believe if anything at all, maybe it could be something as simple as friendly advice, or something like that, or maybe nothing. In any case I won't write after I send this unless you write back).

Her reply (which surprised me):

Tony -

I don't think you're a nut - not at all - and I'm not reading anything into your dream -
I DO believe that everything happens for a reason though - and you're right we have "met" for some purpose - yet to be determined.

I feel the same as you - I'm very happy with my life - just would like people in it to "compliment" it - make it better -

I'd live to chat more with you - but to be honest I'm not into the whole "computer chatting" thing - would much rather be face to face -
call me old fashioned !!

I hope to hear from you again -

Then I said:

Regina,

Wow, ok. That was pretty heavy stuff I laid on you there. I have to tell you, that whole dream/picture/e-mail thing made me a little nervous, it freaked me out a little, and thought I should tell you no matter what you thought.

I have believed, previous to writing you about this, that a dream like that, which is followed by a coincidental event such as you e-mailing me right after I saw your profile, might (maybe) have some significance; maybe as simple as you might have something to say to me, or me to you, maybe a little piece of advice or something like that, or maybe not.

I'm really surprised I'm talking like this, a little uncharacteristic of me. But I'm still trying to figure it out.
Talking about this to someone I don't know is also a little weird, but what can I do, a very unusual and interesting thing occurred.

Anyway, I feel like since I had that dream and saw that photo I should try to talk to you. If possible, I'm approaching this strictly as a curious, potential friend.

Ok, enough of that. Will write tomorrow.

Tony

I lost her reply to the above. But it said something; "Ok, I can always use a friend who can cook, etc."

2 days later I wrote back to her saying:

Hey Regina,

I was curious about what kind of music you listen to, or are currently listening to?

Also was wondering if you're into improvising or jamming?

In addition to the guitars, effects, etc. that I've made I've also made a lot of experimental music machines. I was really just experimenting and sold a bunch of these things in the process. The reason I mention this is because I don't want you to be confused when you visit my YouTube page. I thought maybe we can share video links there, I would like to know more about "American Pop Standards", the kind of music that you sing. Maybe I can turn you on to some of the stuff I like too, (that might be a stretch, but it's possible.)

My YouTube page: www.youtube.com...

You can also see my website at: electrokraft.com (It hasn't been updated in awhile since I'm making a transition into software development now).
Anyway, it might be interesting.

I'll send this message from my other e-mail account as well, in case this one gets tossed.

Tony

I thought this could be a way we could find out more about each other, whta music we like, share music, etc.

But never received a reply.

Then yesterday I sent this:

Hi Regina,

I thought I'd send this last e-mail in case the last one I sent got tossed into your spam folder. I added a couple of links in my last e-mail and thought maybe that could have happened.

If you never got the last one please let me know. If you did receive it I'll assume you're not interested in talking and that's ok. It was nice chatting with you.

Tony

Never got a reply.

If by any chance anyone reads through all of this, if you can give me some insight into what you think, that would be great.

(I'm forgetting about trying to talk to the girl now, but just curious what others here would think of all this.)

Yeah.. I'm not comfortable reading the emails as it's not for me to say. I think you could give her several days or a week as you might be coming off as too intense. Intense can be good but it may be too early into the relationship yet.

Well, I don't think there's anything in the e-mail that is too personal, etc. Nothing more than you would get from a chat forum.

But, if it makes you uncomfortable, that's Ok, I understand. It really is all very generic.

I appreciate the insight. Maybe too intense right off the bat. I took the chance telling her about the dream, etc. because I thought she would be the best person to tell, and that I would most likely not hear back from her.

But did you read her reply, the one she sent right after I told her about the dream, etc.?

Maybe she thought more about it and got scared. I can see that happening.

I think this is really your answer, straight from her.
Is there a possibility of you two meeting face-to-face?
If not, then likely best to move on to a more realistic prospect.
If so, then by all means, exchange numbers and plan a "real" date...

I know what you're saying, but after I sent the e-mail with the link to my YouTube page I never received a reply. Then just 2 days ago I sent another e-mail just to make sure, and nothing. So I think that's the end of it.

It was very interesting, the synchronicity the occurred. I wanted to investigate it more. But it appears that's not going to happen now.

Maybe it was my "I'm just approaching this as a potential friend..." line didn't agree with her.

What I'm most surprised about is that she's not even curious. Which makes me believe she probably didn't believe anything I tried to explain to her.

Maybe she just thought it was some kind of romantic baloney story.

Is it possible that my videos on YouTube really turned her off about just talking to me?

I think it was either that "friendship" line, or the videos. Or she thought more about the whole dream thing and got scared.

I'm moving on, not trying to contact her. But I am still interested in the event in itself, the dream and then synchronicity that happened.

Still looking for more input/feedback from people.

I also just wanted to add that, if she's not into the whole "computer chatting thing", then what is she doing with an online personal ad and responding to my craigslist ad? Online chatting is essential in these cases, at least initially.

It may have been a very tactful "get lost" suggestion. Because if she wanted to talk with me on the phone and then meet, she would have at least responded once more, where we could have exchanged phone numbers.

Whatever the reason for the dream and then coincidence (or synchronicity) that occurred (if any reason), I'll probably never learn. And maybe that's not a bad thing.

As Riley said, maybe it had nothing to do with her, maybe there was no meaning to it except that maybe to remind me that I have this little premonition ability that I should pay more attention to. (Most people do have this ability in my opinion but either forget their dreams, or their lives are too busy to pay any attention to their dreams.)

Thanks again for the reply, I appreciate it very much.

All possibilities, or she may have met someone in RL that she's giving a try. As I said, online, you have no idea how many pans they may have in the fire.... Of course, there are many possibilities.

As for the dream, you know yourself best. Maybe get some dream analysis books, see if you can make more sense of it that way, correlating it with other dreams you've had, etc. to see if it may be a precognition event, or just a random coincidence.

Very true, there could be any explanation, who knows.

I really don't think we are the kind of people who would normally talk to one another. When she saw those videos, I think that really summed it up for her.

She seemed to be really on a quest to find a mate, and I told her I might possibly be a friend.

I don't think she wanted to talk to the "sensitive/quirky" artist type. Most people around here where I live are like that. Uptight, no nonsense types. Not a lot of culture or art here. Even though we are 30 minutes from NYC (Manhattan), and even in the city there's not a lot of real art.

Long Island is a weird place to live if you're an artist or inventor. It's all about sports (if you're a guy) or buying stuff, if you're a girl.

I got off track there, but what I mean is that I don't even think we would have liked talking to each other.

As for the dream, I have had many dreams like that, since I was a little kid. Most of the time now, there is no deeper meaning to them. In other words I would dream I saw something, then see it. And that was all.

I sincerely appreciate your thoughtful input.

She is a major point in your current time lines, lets say a pivot point. This might be a long term thing, or just a person with whom information needs to be exchanged.

Your higher self saw this potentiality on this time line. Chances are her higher self saw this as well. There might be past life Karma to work out, or soul contracts, I do not know such things.

However it is best not to think or overreact. Just be yourself, and be full of wonder in the universe, and be excited with the potential.

Sit quietly, and ask to make contact with your higher self, and ask your higher self to arrange a meeting by modifying your schedules to coincide, with cooperation of her higher self. If you get any inspirations in the coming days follow them. If you notice strange things like your shoe lace untying repeatedly no matter how tight you tie it, or that you keep taking a left turn on the same street in a state of confusion, just laugh, do not get stressed. Your schedule is being modified to enable this meet.

Sounds crazy, but I am not, and it works. The higher self communication is evident to me between the two of you. If you think this story is weird, is here one from many years ago.
