Well, do what you will. A significant bulk of revenue subject to boycott is from Israeli electronics, and not the kind you find in your cell phone. And arms. And munitions.

To tell you the truth, I just as soon all you Israel haters not have weapons. More for the rest of us.

This shouldn't even deserve a response, but I will.

I have seen Israeli children writing messages on the bombs being dropped on other children in Gaza.

So when you wake up and realize that Muslim doesn't automatically mean "Terrorist", I might just have a debate with you.

Stop pretending you know what every person in Gaza is thinking and who they support, and start realizing that those kids do not deserve to be murdered by Israel.

Thank you.
It's that type of ignorance that is a main problem & counter productive to what we truly need right now.

Wow, you people don't get it at all. We're not going to change this culture by sweet-talking anybody. These people are willing to die for their convictions.

The most powerful man in the world is one who has nothing to lose.

You guys keep talking about politics, and it's not about that at all. I'm actually shocked at how dim you folks seem to be. These people, from a culture several thousand years old, are not going to give up just so they can have cable TV and Dunkin' Donuts.

This conversation is a perfect description of how people just don't understand the middle eastern cultures. It's laughable to hear you folks talk about something that you clearly don't understand.

And we wonder why we can't "help". Our kind of help will only make things worse. And I'm glad that most of you aren't in a political position. You would just get us all killed!

Wasn't this the reaction to the USA's invasion of Iraq? I'm pretty sure the exact same thing was suggested, and practiced, after the war began. Somehow I don't think the results of that has benefited anyone...will this?

P.S. I'm not suggesting the Iraq war is comparable to the current situation in Gaza, rather I'm focusing on the failed method that was used against an aggressor (USA) in the past.

That said what products do I purchase that originate or pass through Israel.....

Well after a quick look like all good Americans I buy Chinese, Korean, and lots of stuff made by little children. Outside of the UZI what on Earth do the Israelis export?

I don't know your background, but let me tell you a little about mine. I worked with, and lived among Muslims in the ME for a considerable period of time. Most of the people were no different from others that I know in America. They have families, aspirations, and dreams for their children. Most condemn violence, suicide bombings, and want peace for their families.
It seems you are accepting the Western stereotype of the average person over there having nothing to lose, and willing to die for their cause. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. Although many have very little, they wish for a better world for their children. Are some desperate? Of course, just as some are desperate in America, or England, or any other country. But not all of them act on that desperation? If you were there, how would you act, in their place?

Don't give the NWO a reason for another idiot like Mandela, by playing into the staged game, geez. Do you have any idea what has happened to South Africa, Mandelatopia? It's a bloody hell hole since the IMF sprung the poster boy from hell, 50 to 100 murders a day, 800 to 2000 rapes a day, 2000+ car jackings and house invasions a day. If you get raped in South Africa, your odds of getting AIDS are 1:1.00012. South Africa is just full of the "gifts" that just keep on taking. So, do we want that for Israel and the Palestinians? I don't think so.

If we get another IMF sponsored poster boy for terror for the Palestinians and everyone eats it up just like with Mandela, then the problems of the south created by people like Mandela, Mbeki and Robber Mugarbage (Zimbabwe) will be visited upon the north. Please remember that all these IMF sponsored idiots are Marxists and terrorists and they are all in bed together with the banks and large corporations. Their poster boys are all hand picked, they don't rise to the surface out of thier own actions, they are put there through ad campaigns and someone is always waiting for a payday. Corporations aren't democracies you know, they pretend to be socialist but really they are just run of the mill dictatorships and the IMF or any government on the planet are not exceptions. But, what is the next step in defending oppression? Shall we allow the IMF and their other corporate buddies to seize land for supposed hate crimes and opinions.

I realize that something strong has to be done to help the Palestinians and the Israeli's sort out their problems, but asking to use the psychological model levered against South Africa is just stupid. It's like saying we want the 111,000 laws of the EU and their dictatorship model for a North American Union.

I personally do not support EITHER of the two parties here. Taking one side over another is really naive & putting your heads in the sand. There is fault on BOTH sides & they only have themselves to blame for being in this bad bad situation. There are NO innocents in this, both are war criminals, wake up & see the truth

Could it be possible that Israel is trying to bait Iran into a confrontation so they can then use that for justification to go to war with Iran?

Sir,

I only know what I see and don't pretend to know anything I do not. Please post the videos.

Here you go...

(Warning: Contains graphic images)

Link

Now, go ahead and tell me again how Hamas are indoctrinating their kids, then tell me that Israel isn't doing the same.

If you support Israel, you support them firing on the UN, leaving children to starve beside their dead families, refusing international media access. You are supporting war crimes, the murder of civilians, the refusal of medical care to the injured...

I keep having to state the above, because pro-Israel posters keep ducking and avoiding the proof of what Israel is doing. They don't want to face what is actually happening, what Israel is doing.
I haven't seen one pro-Israel poster actually answer to the Red Cross, UN, Amnesty International statements that war crimes are being committed.

So, come on, are you going to actually face these questions, or are you going to again state (just like all the others) "rockets fired into Israel!!!!" as a method of defending the mass-murder of people in Gaza?

Get your head out of the sand and stop ignoring what Israel is doing in Gaza.
I don't care what religion you are, surely you cannot believe that killing and maiming thousands of innocent people is acceptable?

*waits for several pro-Israel posters to answer with nothing more than "...firing rockets into Israel! blah blah blah"*

You are a demagogue and spume disinformation.

This was taken during 2006 Lebanon war and it says : "To Hezbollah with love".

What the world needs is one less country to send aid to.

Look the west and rich east countries aren't endless piles of money for the rest of the world you know. We have our own people to look after as well as the world.

Making Israel an even bigger aid problem than it already is for the poor Americans and the rest of the world would be chaos and crazy.

Although it would help there 11 trillion deficit if they stopped giving aid to Israel and buying the products where does the buck stop.

Where's the moral arguement from stopping the world from stopping aid to every country.

It's a slipperly slope.

What if the rich countries decide enough is enough and leave the rest of the world out to dry and stop all aid? Why not as well if they decide to boycott Israel and stop aid to them then there's no moral argument or highground anymore.

That is one of the future possibilities of what you propose and all that blood would be on your hands.

as for this post. i will now seek out israeli goods when ever i can & buy them

these dead gazza children are small adults being trained to hate to support the hate mongers in gazza & the female children are going to grow up & give birth to more mini terrorists & hate filled adults.
these children are being used by the terrorists, when the terrorists are firing weapons there are often very young children with them, learning from them & those children when they grow up will do the same. gazza is a system of hate education.

the terrorists are clever at useing the media.
in private (now children this is a ak47 & there is israel you will go to heaven if you kill an israeli)
in public (ohh boohoo hoo my poor dead child boohoo my poor dead child)
now this is reality. do i have sympathy for a bunch of cowards who do this to children then refuse to take responsibility for there actions by blaming there own actions on israel.
i say bomb them more..................lots more

Two points occur to me here. One is that a key aspect of Israel's strategy towards Palestine has been to strangle any industry the Palestinian people might themselves seek to set up. Those living in the Gaza strip are forced to buy Israeli goods and services because they cannot start their own businesses. This article by Avi Shlaim, Professor of international relations at Oxford University, and formerly a serving member of the Israeli army, explains exactly what his country has been up to:

Link to article

The key excerpt being:

Four decades of Israeli control did incalculable damage to the economy of the Gaza Strip. With a large population of 1948 refugees crammed into a tiny strip of land, with no infrastructure or natural resources, Gaza's prospects were never bright. Gaza, however, is not simply a case of economic under-development but a uniquely cruel case of deliberate de-development. To use the Biblical phrase, Israel turned the people of Gaza into the hewers of wood and the drawers of water, into a source of cheap labour and a captive market for Israeli goods. The development of local industry was actively impeded so as to make it impossible for the Palestinians to end their subordination to Israel and to establish the economic underpinnings essential for real political independence.

So for people in Palestine this sort of boycott simply isn't an option. That might add a different perspective and interest to such a campaign being waged elsewhere.

However, the second point I would make is in reference to the OP's comparison to a global political movement that dealt with South African apartheid. That may to some extent be true, but the alarming thing about the comparison is that the policy of apartheid in South Africa lasted from 1948 until the early 1990s - the best part of 50 years. 50 years is time that those who live in the Gaza strip simply do not have. If things continue as they are, the chances are that the Gaza strip as a Palestinian enclave simply won't exist in 50 years time.

So while I support people standing up for what they believe in, it would be my view that the beseiged population need urgent, political support and they need it now. If they are forced to depend on public boycotts and protests for assistance, it may be that time runs out for them altogether...

How do you know what everyone has or has not protested since 2005? That is a rather bold statement. Are you omniscient?

No mate, I don't live in "11 dimensional space" and wear cool cloaks to wow the audience.

It's just you whingers are just all so predictable. I don't need to be omnipresent. Not a single one of you has bothered in the past three years to lead a protest against hammas rocket attacks on Isreal.

I think Isreal is a bully. I think Isreal has frustrated peace, but so has Hammas and so what I am calling you ProfEmeritus and other like you are hysterical hypocrites.

So let's stop being omnipresent... cut the cra*p. You have never protested against Hammas rocket attacks otherwise you'd have already crowed about it, so please don't make it up now.

None of you give a stuff until it's trendy and really this is just a PR job by Hammas to manipulate world opinion starting with the hysterical and gulliable.

Sure innocents are suffering. But when you take sides with liars and manipulators, you are just becoming a weapon in a war which you don't even understand.

Beam me up Scotty... I've had enough of these pseudo-intellectuals
