You are kidding right? Its not the jews screaming at the tops of their lungs all day long, its the muslims. Its the muslims that want to drive all the jews into the sea and kill them. Its states in the koran, a roack tells a muslim, look there is a jew behind this tree, kill him.

The palastines are muslims that have been kicked out of Jordan, Syria, Iran and other muslim nations, they have no real home, they are gypsies. After the 1967 war when five muslim nations tried to kill off every jew and they lost, Isreal took their land back...THEY WON, MUSLIMS LOST, to the victor go the spoils, not the whiners.

Maybe Hamas should stop firing off missles into Isreal, last count it was 3000 rockets before Isreal decided to take action, then hamas goes and hides behind woman and children, they are not even men.

be glad you posted anonymous because your totally uneducated about radioactivity

Every Atom in the Universe has Radioactive potential!

please read up on it
en.wikipedia.org...
en.wikipedia.org...

and guess what?? its official science FACT that DU IS RADIOACTIVE!
en.wikipedia.org...

" Because U-234 accounts for about half the radioactivity of natural uranium, the external radiation dose from DU is about 60 percent of that from the same mass of natural uranium."

"DU is less toxic than other heavy metals such as arsenic and mercury, and is only very weakly radioactive because of its long half-life.[4] While any radiation exposure has risks, no conclusive epidemiological data have correlated DU exposure to specific human health effects such as cancer.[5] However, studies using cultured cells and laboratory rodents continue to suggest the possibility of leukemogenic, genetic, reproductive, and neurological effects from chronic exposure"

Im calling BS on your comment.

So your saying that "Depleted uranium is only used against armoured threats like tanks and apc's. " But that if you shot my fleshy body with it, it would not cause any harm?

DU Rounds do not penetrate flesh?

I disagree, if I shot you with a DU round it would rip your skin open and bust your bones apart. Its a bullet just like any other bullet.

DU Rounds will cause massive damage to a human body just like any other bullet/round.

DU munitions are not NUKES = nuclear weapons. Their effectiveness is not based on the fact that they are slightly radioactive. But on the fact that DU is extremely dense. Radiation from DU shards is lower than radiation in some groundwater pockets 20kms from where i live...

Very true.

I would like to add however, despite the low radioactivity of DU, i wouldnt sprinkle it on my dinner.

Would you?

So, this is a standard test to perform on victims now. We just go around searching for uranium in people. Sounds like disinfo to me.

Ya think?

The source is from iranian media - that bastion of truth. Notice how they just sort of slipped that in at the beginning on what looks like the same news report we've all seen elsewhere. I'm calling BS on this as well. DU is used to destroy other tanks, not "soft" targets. Unless the palestinians now have those, too, in violation of a ton of agreements.

Wait here's another possibility. The traces of DU come from hamas using kids to smuggle those weapons in through the tunnels under the border with Egypt.

Two issues:

1)DU rounds, if were are talking about artillery shells are just as dangerous as tungsten rounds. Only direct or very close hits are dangerous to people. So wasting them on running people is silly. A single HE round into the "region" (10m) is far more effctive. I have no knowledge of any

But thats not how war works. It doesnt operate on logic or efficency. It operates on Profit margins lol.
Sad to say but its true.

I do NOT know what weapons either side is using *exactly* , but I would safely assume that BOTH sides wish to use up their current arsenals so that they can buy more weapons (reinforcements) next month.

That IS how the military industrial complex works, afterall.

DU as a metal is radioactive, just not dangerously high. While in metal form, that is not reduced to the most dangerous form of it, nano dust. When the bullets made from DU, and they all are now, are used, 30%, according to the studies, turn into nano dust. When cluster bumbs explode 100% becomes nano dust. Its the fine nano dust that is so incredibly dangerous. Its so tiny it destroys dna. Your body doesn't pass it through as it does the natural forming uranium blowing in the wind.

The US quickly had some very shoddy studies done to shove this weaponsry, with the intent of destroying most of the life on earth, don't kid yourself, depopulation is the biggest goal of the blidenburg club, and quickly used megatons of this. But the Manhatten Project exposed very clearly, years ago, what this stuff does. So they were lying through their teeth that they didn't know.

Now, the entire world has been studying its effects. Its not pretty. Oh did I mention the Manhatten Project, as early as the 40s the cartel knew this, and has been forcing independent scientists and radiactive specialists, like in Japan, to redo the work they already did?

Theres even something worse, they've allowed this so-called "safe-ish" du metal to be mixed into our scrap metal supplies world wide as well, due to lax laws. Everyone who can afford a geiger counter should get one. I plan to
before you purchase anything.

They already use it in things that can explode and create the fine powder, parts in jets and racing cars (something to do with the weights) also in conductors. They have been dumping the used DU bullets off the coast of Canada and the US in prime fishing waters.

That was reported on cbc.

Hey, but Gaza is such a small little strip now. If the victims there are showing signs of DU in their urine, as are many US soldiers from the middle east, then all the citizens of Israel are also contaminated, never mind that it has increased the global mix.

Actually DU is used because it is the most dense substance we can use to defeat armor. You may be confusing DU with Thermite.

DU is pyrophoric.
When used as casings for bullets or missiles, DU bursts into flames on impact.
This adds to the effectiveness of the weapon, and helps kill those in underground shelters by sucking up the oxygen.
It also disperses the DU as tiny particles which lodge in everything, including the lungs of any still breathing victims. There the chemical poisoning and constant slow radioactivity do great damage.

PGU-14/B API Armor Piercing Incendiary [DU] 30mm Ammunition The 30mm x 173 GAU-8/A ammunition was among the most effective ammunition used in Operation Desert Storm with proven performance against all targets, including tanks, armored and light vehicles.

The 30mm lightweight family of ammunition was developed to optimize the air-to-ground mission of the U.S. Army AH-64 Apache helicopter. This ammunition family is also compatible with all 30mm x 113 gun systems. The PGU-14/B API Armor Piercing Incendiary round has a lightweight body which contains a sub-calibre high density penetrator of Depleted Uranium (DU).

In addition to its penetrating capability DU is a natural pyrophoric material which enhances the incendiary effects .

www.globalsecurity.org...

People denying the use of depleted uranium in Gaza seem to have suddenly forgotten about the underground tunnel networks they have been busily pointing out in other threads.

The delivery of at least 100 GBU 28 bunker busters bombs containing depleted uranium warheads by the United States to Israel for use against targets in Lebanon will result in additional radioactive and chemical toxic contamination with consequent adverse health and environmental effects throughout the middle east. Israeli tank gunners are also using depleted uranium tank rounds as photographs verify.

www.globalresearch.ca...

As well as being pyrophoric, denser than lead, and self-sharpening on impact, DU is cheaper than the alternatives. DU is a waste product, and, as such, nuclear power stations are all too happy to get rid of it.

Depleted Uranium (DU) is the waste product when enriched uramium is produced for nuclear fuel. As it is radioactive waste, the nuclear industry is happy to give it away at low cost to the military. The military want it because it is 1.6 times denser than lead and therefore excellent as tank armour and in armour-piercing shells - and much cheaper than its alternative (tungsten).

It's the spalling from a fired round that is dangerous to be around. Anytime we go into the AOR, we are told to stay away from armor that might have been fired up with DU.

My friend had a geiger counter.

Interestingly enough, the most radioactive material we could find was cement. It was fairly radioactive, still not harmful enough to worry too much about.

How 6,700 Tons of Radioactive Sand from Kuwait Ended Up in Idaho

On April 26, 2008, the BBC Alabama arrived in Longview, Wash., carrying 6,700 tons of Kuwaiti sand. The sand had become contaminated with depleted uranium when U.S. military vehicles and munitions caught fire at Doha Army base in Kuwait during the 1991 Gulf War. The depleted uranium was being repatriated. The sand was a gift of the Kuwaiti government. So was the cost of repatriation. Neither government will discuss just how much the tab was.

At the last minute, the Army notified port authorities that tests had revealed that the sand was also contaminated with lead -- in fact, four times more lead than the EPA's limit for hazardous materials. Transshipment was delayed for a few days awaiting a green light from the EPA. Wilcox told the Daily News that he hoped the delivery would be a one-time thing. Over the next month, longshoremen loaded 160 containers onto railcars bound for an Idaho-based waste disposal site owned by a company called American Ecology. When the sand arrived at the Idaho site, the company did its own tests and, as Chad Hyslop, project director for American Ecology, told the Daily News, "found no hazardous levels of lead."

yes,and its rather unwise to be using such munnitions in the most densly populated area of the world, espescially if you live right next door to it,its just gonna blow over and effect the isreali side.

I just noticed this thread while Googling this topic and thought I'd update it. I write a blog about depleted uranium and have a strong interest in unhumanitarian ways of waging warfare, especially as it concerns civilian victims.

I have been reading many reports and articles, and watching al Jazeera constantly since the attack on Gaza began. I saw the Norwegian doctor to whom the DU claim is attributed on TV. I saw him asked directly to confirm reports that he had said he found DU in victims and he did not give a straight answer at all. He proceded to talk about the DIME weapons.

I don't think DU was used in Gaza, but it might have been. I'm sure Israel could find some targets hard enough to get the pyrophoric blast out of DU that the boys love it for. It's not just used against tanks, I'm pretty sure, though this is hard to find solid evidence for.

It's still not entirely clear whether DU was used in Lebanon, Israel's previous attack on its neighbours. Things are often this way with DU - a lack of good information on actual usage, a point which might bolster the arguments of those who say there is a systemic depopulation conspiracy afoot.

Anyway, I wrote a blog entry on the question of DU in Gaza. Two, in fact. If you're interested in trying to find the truth on this, and that may not be possible, you should read them.

I have also written sever entries recently on white phosphorus and DIME weapons, two nasties that definitely were used. Here is a list:

Is Israel using depleted uranium in Gaza? www.gnn.tv...

Israel denies adding DU to its Cast Lead www.gnn.tv...

Israel using banned weapons (again) - The Whiskey Pete is hard to hide www.gnn.tv...

In Gaza, life ain't worth a DIME www.gnn.tv...

I hope this is useful to someone.

Gaza is most unlikely to have the alpha or mass spectrometers required to positively identify Uranium fragments or contamination, depleted, undepleted or low enriched.

However experienced medical personnel familiar with casualties from recent conflicts in the Middle East since Gulf War 1 in 1991 could recognise high density shrapnel by hand or simplest lab density tests. Both tungsten & uranium have a specific gravity/density c 18-19, similar to gold, 1.7x heavier than lead, 2.4x heavier than steel.

Combat medics may also have some idea of weapon types involved
e.g. shrapnel from 25mm DU canon, micro-shrapnel from new DIME weapons, fragments from cluster bombs, artillery shells or other submunitions, or from large bomb or missile warheads.

Tungsten is inert - no signs of burns expected. Uranium (depleted or otherwise) burns at up to 5000C - intense burns expected, either from explosion flash or from incandescent shrapnel. The DIME concept would work with uranium instead of tungsten in the high density castable explosive (US Patent 1997) but would be DRME - Dense Reactive Metal Explosive. This would cause extreme burns as well as micro-shrapnel penetration.

The Israeli arsenal used in Gaza is likely to have been 90% like that used in recent combat operations in Lebanon (2006) and Syria (2007). See William Arkin's book Divining Victory ISBN 978-1-58566-168-8 for assessment of the 2006 war with Lebanon.

The possible use of uranium in a new generation of large guided weapons was suspected in Jan 2001 following anomolies between radiation reports in 1999 and UNEP tests of DU A10 targets in the Balkans. Uranium contamination was confirmed in civilian urine samples in Afghanistan, in air samples from GW2 in Iraq, and from airborne dust, soil, water & urine samples from craters or bombed locations in Lebanon in 2006.

Israeli forces used several sizes of guided bombs (or missiles) in Gaza - ranging from 250 lb small smart bombs, through 1000 lb, 2000 lb and 4400 lb warheads. The sizes are evident from crater sizes, explosion flashes and smoke plumes. Some were penetrating or 'bunker buster' types - with secret high density metal ballast - and some were using thermobaric (high temperature, long cycle blast pressure) incendiary or fireball warheads, or both.

For analysis of these new generation weapons, plus suspicions & evidence of large, uranium enhanced weapons, see the UNIDIR journal Disarmament Forum Issue 3, 2008 online at www.unidir.org or direct at www.unidir.ch...

As in Fallujah it is possible that White Phosphorus was used in Gaza as a decoy weapon to distract media attention from extreme burns and injuries possibly caused by other more dangerous weapons.

The possible IAEA inspection requested by Arab states may be interesting
but is likely to find high levels of undepleted, or even low enriched, but not depleted uranium.

I read over an article right here on ATS about Israels nuclear developement facility. It specifically had a section to put this into ammunition. They said they scrapped it but of course governments say a lot of things when they want to keep things secret. I know Israel has this type of munition. I wouldnt be surprised if they wanted to test it out a bit. I mean thats the main way to get real research done.
