ABC says conspiracy web sites are contributing to mental health issues

This morning ABC had an article implying that conspiracy websites are contributing to mental health issues, therefore they should not be allowed.

After many excellent comments were posted that supported conspiracy websites...the article and comments are no longer there.

Is this a sign of the next area of attack? I think we should be paying attention to avenues to stop internet censorship now! If the free speech that is available on the internet is taken away where will we obtain real information?

Should we be planning an alternate way besides the internet to contact one another and keep spreading the truth?

They just do not want to let people know what the government is doing to people. Sites like this are very important to and much more important then any news station you can watch.

Just look how many people have been woken upto the truths or at least some of them, that goes on behind the scenes.

I take it abc means sites like ats.

A precursor to the impending censorship of information. It is imperative for them to turn off the spigots of truth if they are to take a final run at their end-game. I'm not suprised at all that this story was reported directly through the Ministry of propaganda, i.e. the mainstream media as they will be complicit in silencing the truth and distribbuting the lies.

WOW I agree,I don't agree with everything on CT sites, but they do bring a lot to light.

There is a lot of valuable information posted here, things you never hear on TV, and we post it weeks, of not months before it makes mainstream.

Although I think you're on to something the next group to be STOMPED TO DEATH will be Bible Believing Christians. They already have names for us...

Christofacists and Biblical Extremists and several BIG Church pastors have stated that they need to get the Fundamentalists out of Religion...

Martin Luther - Here I stand on the Bible and I can do nothing else.

He stood on the Bible and the Bible only, we are the ones that will go next...

Wait and see if you don't start seeing the word Christofacist soon in all the media and public.

The very first question that comes to mind after reading this thread, is this:

How will the reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine under Obama affect sites like ATS?

at least on this site we have a little thing called discussion.

on the other hand, I think there's more than one person on ATS who could benefit from some time off.

THEY DO.

Hear me out, if you are a sober person, you never drink or smoke, all you do is go on different websites (from porn to conspiracies) you will GET SICK.

Its just NOT healthy to live like that and I think 99 percent of you guys do.

Not a personal shot, more likely its the facts.

You have to exercise, have a relationship with a female or male if your gay, have hobbies and activities like fishing or hunting or bowling, you have to see movies, otherwise your WORLD becomes silly conspiracy theories that are 99 percent FALSE and just CREATED by some BLOGGER in his moms basement to get a RISE out of you because he NEEDS attention because humans are social animals

A man standing on a street corner with a sign reading "the lizard people rule you all," or, "my neighbors are spying on me for the government" isn't likely to get many supporters.

Of all the conspiracy theories and conspiracy theorists, David Icke has built one of the largest followings for his ideas that a race of reptilian people secretly control the world.

But give that man a Web site template, or let him produce some slick videos on YouTube and, lo and behold, he may have thousands of people across the world supporting him.

As Conspiracy Communities Grow, Mental Health Docs Are Left With Big Questions

The article is still available...and I posted a comment to let people know that they should come here to see that we aren't all crazy...

Have you been watching CNN?

www.worldnetdaily.com...

JERUSALEM – CNN's extensive coverage this week of the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca is a defeat for evangelical Christians and proves it is only a question of time before Islam will be "shining all over the world," according to Muslim terrorists in Gaza speaking to WND.

Starting last Saturday and continuing until Wednesday, CNN provided regular coverage of the Hajj, the largest annual pilgrimage in the world. The fifth pillar of Islam requires every able-bodied Muslim to travel to Mecca at least once in their life in a demonstration of solidarity with fellow Muslims and in an act of individual submission to Allah.

Mental health...now that is entirely debatable. Just look at the mental state of the news reporters. The ones I have seen are ignorant of anything except the hierarchy that controls them. I would probably trust some people diagnosed as clinicly insane over any of them. Deleting websites...maybe we should burn all the conspiracy books too.

It's the same reason why LSD is illegal...the purveyors of the consensus reality ("and how's that been working out for everybody? GREAT! Current thinking is fine!") want to make it illegal for others to aviod buying their product...And basically everybody has a mental health diagnosis, if somebody else is paying the expert witness who examines you...The media are such mediocre intellects that they can overlook their own oblivious arrogance and sincerely enforce their thoughts as THE THOUGHTS and for OUR OWN GOOD...(like how so few had the wit to be embarrassed by their pro-Obama missionary work)...

Please…ABC contributes to more mental health issues than ATS does.

What with all the fear mongering and disinformation they spread. If anyone needs to be monitored or removed from public view, it's the MSM.

I agree... except I think that the WAR against Christians is already happening in the media and definitely on the internet.
Christians will have to be spiritually strong to face all that is coming. It is time for everyone to rely on the Holy Spirit & get back to reading the bible.

To get back on topic...ABC, NBC, CNN & FOX are unhealthy! They brainwash people! I wonder if the push for everyone to go digital in Feb. 2009 is part of a massive brainwashing scheme?

(Oh no... not another conspiracy theory?!)

I dont see that it woud cause ats to shut down....as to put it bluntly the world does not stop at america. Changing servers and letting users know about browsing through proxies would get around that pretty swiftly most probably. I'd be amazed if the 3 amigo didn't have a back up plan in event of some sort of legislation along these lines though.

What would you say to those that are disabled and unable to do much of anything that like using the internet as a hobby?

I think you're stats are off way off there is no way that 99% of this sites members are only in here all day every day...

Besides if all they did as come in here how would so many find so many wonderful links to information on every topic, whether Aliens or bigfeet or politics?

Look at the thread called I WAS THERE by the guy who shot video in Thailand or wherever it was, I forget offhand because I take a lot of meds for my DISABILITY... It is in the top 2 pages though and i's actually a great post with lots of incredible video...

A funny remark considering that on Sept. 12, 2001 ABC's anchor, Diane Sawyer, broke journalistic ethics on her show by claiming that a large segment of the American public would develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder following those events. She even spiffed prescription medications that could be "requested" from doctors that are manufactured by the show's corporate advertisers.
