She didn't call him the Messiah. Didn't call him God's Son. Didn't call him the Annointed one. Just said she thought he was blessed by God. So again, not one calling him the Messiah. Don't say its the same thing. People don't claim the Dems say he was blessed by God, they say he's the Messiah. But still NO Democrat has called him the Messiah.

I think you might be getting caught up on technicalities. Whether or not he has technically been called 'Messiah' is not necessarily the point. It is the perception many develop once they see the devotion of Obama followers and the Messiah like status he is given by many. I'm not to haggle with anyone whether this reverence towards Obama actually exists. As far as I'm concerned, it does. I see it and that is enough for me.

In another thread there was a video of youth referring to Obama as the Alpha and Omega. That's one example, FF mentioned some above, Semper mentions another, and if you look around, you'll find all sorts of religious terminology being applied to Obama from his followers (and not as sarcastic remarks made by detractors).

It's pretty obvious many see him as a savior like character, a leader sent by God, some sort of 'chosen one,' etc.

This incident is an issue of stupidity which has no boundaries in race, religion, political affiliation, gender, ad nauseum the ways we "define" ourselves...

What goes around comes around. I'm sure they are hundreds of classrooms around the country which only have 1 black student who will vote for obama and the rest of the class white and voting for McCain. That one black student probably had it worse that Ms Alfanso.

So no, I don't feel sorry for her.

And once again, NO ONE has called him the Messiah but the Republicans. Not one Democrat. "Oh well he sounds like the Messiah" Not a Democrat calling him the Messiah. "Well Pelosi said she we were blessed by God to have Obama here." Not calling him the Messiah. "Well now you're just getting technical, just because no one has called him the Messiah but Republicans..." So, once again, waiting for a Democrat calling him the Messiah. Not he acts like one, not he talks like one, not Pelosi saying she feels blessed by God that Obama is here, but actually calling him the Messiah.

Sorry but you're wrong there. REPs only started calling him that after the Nation of Islam's leader Farrikon (sp?) called him that, twice. Typical DEM not doing any research.

BTW, I have no anymosity towards DEMS, as I hate REPs as well. They are all sheep voting for their 'party.' People should do actual research, not watch the news, when voting for a candidate. And vote for someone who actually wants to change the govt. Not someone who takes us back to the Clinton years.

What office does he hold? What year did he win his election? What state or district? I didn't see where he was elected. Is he in the House? Ok Googled him and he doesn't hold office any where. So, you have the Republicans calling Obama the Messiah, and one guy, not elected or holding any office, who is friends?(Not sure) with Obama calling him the Messiah. So now that you have that, show me where ONE ELECTED Democrat calls him the Messiah. I'm not trying to nit pick but the GOP say Obama is called the Messiah by the Democrats, that they believe he's the Messiah, but you don't have one elected Democrat calling him the Messiah. It's as bad as when people called us Ron Paul supporters Ron Bots and said we thought he was the Messiah.

You're shifting the goal posts. You said, 'NO ONE has called him the Messiah but the Republicans. Not one Democrat.' Then were given an example of a democrat using the exact term, 'Messiah.' It would be a lot more noble to acknowledge you were wrong. There is no shame in it.

I still think the perception is more important than an actual, technical example but you were given it. Obama has been referred using many other terms of reverence with religious connotations. To deny that is denying documented fact. However, to now say the Messiah example doesn't count because the person is not technically a politician is a little embarrassing to watch.

Just saying. I don't want you to feel like you are being attacked but you're kind of being dense to the facts.

Did you read that part? The GOP says the Democrats call him the Messiah. But so far you have one NOT ELECTED FRIEND of Obama saying it. Just reminds me of the Primaries. "Your Messiah isn't going to make it. No one will vote for Ron Paul." Even though no one called him the Messiah. So the question still stands, ONE ELECTED Democrat. Heck go to the local level of Mayors if you have to. But the GOP needs to stop claiming the Democrats claim Obama is the Messiah when they can't prove any Democrat has said it let alone more then one, or one who is elected. BTW Starred you Semp, you showed it, no personal attacks, just proved one point. But still, no Elected Democrat, or more then one.

Edit to add: Oh, and just to make sure once again: If you guys want to focus on specific examples- go for it. It's cool. To me that's nothing more than technicalities, therefore a waste of time. A room full of young people chanting, 'Alpha! Omega! Alpha Omega!' regarding Obama while marching in line (actual video footage) is much more alarming. It's the general sentiment of Obama devotion that scares me- not specific technical examples. But that's just me.

I guess this is all off topic though, so that's all I'm going to say on the matter.
