It would be interesting to follow up with this girl in 10 years if nothing comes of this to see what porno movies she stars in or what street corner she works on

Yea there's a fine line between sexually explicit photographs taken for the expressed purpose of arousing another. And those photographs taken by your parents in order to humiliate you during your teenage years.
(a) whether "the average person, applying contemporary community standards" would find that the work, taken as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest, Kois v. Wisconsin, supra, at 230, quoting Roth v. United States, supra, at 489;
(b) whether the work depicts or describes, in a patently offensive way, sexual conduct specifically defined by the applicable state law; and
(c) whether the work, taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value."

So this fifteen year old in the US can not legally pick a sexual partner above the age of eighteen, but the law can find her guilty of having a grasp of consequences enough to try and lock her up for ten years for taking nude pictures of herself and sending them to friends? This girl can’t be an innocent minor who isn’t allowed her choice of a partner sexually and be charged for sex crimes against other minors, finding her competent of the sexualized crimes she committed. Is this girl a child with a child’s mentality or is she not? Our system needs to make up its damn mind.

Why is this sort of behavior on this board being condoned? What good can possibly come from allowing this child to pose nude for sexually explicit photographs?

Perhaps no she doesn't deserve to be put on the sex offender list. But perhaps some sort of punishment for her obviously deviant behavior should be shown. I mean seriously do you all actually feel this is acceptable behavior?

The real sick thing is that this girl probably lost her virginity a couple years ago.
Its people like this who eventually either become sexual deviants themselves or unwed drug-addict mothers.

I agree. The bottom line, is her intent. Her intent was not to make child pornography, and she is being punished like it was.
I predict that she will see no legal reprecussions from this incident.

Before you go on and on about how this board is thinking. Read our damn posts man.
Who said we agree with her behavior? Go back and read our posts. You will see we do not. We are suggesting consequence. She needs to have her cell phone taken away for a bit and someone needs to educate her about pedophiles that can easily get their hands on photos that are sent electronically. And maybe her caretakers should tell her about the birds and the bees.
What we don't agree with is the criminal punishment that you do!

Don't think this girl is such a "kid." She knew what she was doing, and at that age, she knew it was inappropriate.
