**FLASH** The REAL REASON For The Bailout (Hint: FOREIGNERS)

Here is another link that has the exact snippet i'm talking about. This is essentially the short version. Makes me wonder what all the implications are for this. Are other countries threatening us and we are not being told? It's true that we are the cause of the worldwide economic crisis. Yikes.

I have to assume that he is talking about section 112 of the linked document that states:

"11 SEC. 112. COORDINATION WITH FOREIGN AUTHORITIES
12 AND CENTRAL BANKS.
13 The Secretary shall coordinate, as appropriate, with
14 foreign financial authorities and central banks to work to
15 ward the establishment of similar programs by such au
16 thorities and central banks. To the extent that such for
17 eign financial authorities or banks hold troubled assets as
18 a result of extending financing to financial institutions
19 that have failed or defaulted on such financing, such trou
20 bled assets qualify for purchase under section 101."

Oh and I love this section taken from the Yahoo news story
found here

"The rescue bill hitched a ride on a popular measure that gives people with mental illness better health insurance coverage. Before passing it, senators voted by an identical 74-25 margin to attach the massive bailout and the tax breaks."

And then we all need to vote for a third party candidate for President since both MSM candidates are "for" the bailout.

We have to actually act on this. Do not vote for Obama OR McCain. Vote for yourself if you need to, but lets send them a message.

That would be a sensible thing to do, but . . .

Run this situation in some other country, and both leading candidates might as well quit the race, providing that 90% messages to the representatives were really opposed to the bailout. But the American mentality is different. George Bush, for example, wouldn't be allowed to run a fast food joint elsewhere. That's the way it is. Different countries; different attitudes.

I think now is the time for all of us to get behind Chuck Baldwin.

He is ready to take America back to supporting the constitution!

I'm confused about something. If the house voted no on the bailout, how did this new version end up going to the senate first? Or had the senate voted before the house rejected the last one?

And, I don't understand what it has to do with the Wellstone Mental Health Bill?

This is so outrageous! The Senators have already one of the best medical insurances in the world!

I agree the American mentality has been more than a little passive as regards George Bush.

I think seeing the World Trade Center fall over and over and over again on TV helped that happen.

I have great hope that this outcry indicates that we have reached our breaking point. I think the market fall on Monday was blackmail. To try to break our will and make us support the bill. I do not believe it has. They want to report it as if it has, so that people feel that further resistance is futile.

They also ignore third party candidates to make you think your vote will be wasted if you vote for them. Turn off the TV. Dont vote for who you think is the lesser of two evils. Vote for someone you think is NOT evil. Dont feel the need to be on the winning team or side, be willing to vote your conscience. Be brave, vote free, ignore the polls, the reports, and the propaganda. Listen to your own heart. Even if your heart disagrees with me, and you want to vote Obama or McCain. If everyone would just vote their heart, their conscience, instead of a vote based in fear of the greater of two evils we could break the deadlock these two evils have on America.

Remember, voting for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil.

It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the mental health bill. The House said NO, the Senate went behind all of our backs and did what they wanted to do. I don't understand how this travesty can be allowed to be carried. And I still don't know what happens when the House votes again on Friday if they say NO again.

I just feel so sad for our founding fathers and I feel ashamed that we have allowed our country to fall. Greed, corruption, socialist insiders, etc.

If you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water, he’ll jump out. But if you place a frog into a pot of lukewarm water and slowly turn up the heat, it will boil to death.

We slowly allowed our freedoms and liberties to be taken away from us while we got fatter, and felt safer, and got more comfortable and dumbed down.

I think the majority of the American people have said no to this bailout, but it looks like a government by the government for the government.

I am rambling. I guess there is still hope to save America, but it is going to take something drastic.

I am so pleased to be able to say that both of my Louisiana Senators voted Nay to this bill. But at the same time, I am upset that 15 more Senators across the country didn't vote Nay. Sad when 15 votes makes the difference between the democratic republic were were originally formed to be and socialism.

And very soon, we will find that this bill did nothing at all to stop the crisis.

I plan to keep pressure on the representatives from my state and I hope the rest of you do too. The House still has to once again vote on this. It should go back to the House Rules Committee, where it *should* be refused outright, but I don't see that happening, unfortunately.

Maybe, by continuing even more aggressively with emails, faxes and phone calls we can convince even more members of the House to vote Nay this round

Did the senate vote on the last bailout bill before the house voted it down? I guess I'm not real clear on the procedures here but I can't understand how they got first vote this time.

n/m I understand how that works now thanks to an explanation in another thread and this news story which describes the process a bit too.
Wall Street Bill Passes Senate

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) used procedural measures to circumvent the House, usually the first house of Congress to vote on spending legislation. "There are a few people in the House who'd rather we did this another way," Reid said on the Senate floor. "But we've tried other ways. I say to my friends in the House of Representatives, we've got to get this done."

This is a load of crap.

I guess Benjamin Franklin would sound the same way.

This situation seems to scratch the very principles of democracy. People elect the government, because they have other jobs. The government is paid by the People to run affairs for the benefit of the People. But when things get really serious and the People say no, that means NO. The People are not obliged to explain to the government why not. They can be told once what the consequence of their decision might be, but not more then once. Hey, you're the boss. The Congress has a tendency of treating the People as some ignorant rednecks who would make a fatal mistake by making their decision. But the People, the vast majority, didn't cause this financial turmoil; the influential minority did. They are those who made a mistake in their decision.

So you have two leading presidential candidates who basically say this: Guys, this is too complex for you to understand; the world of finances has changed and it cannot be easily understood. You are trivializing the issues.

But who changed the financial system that way? The majority of the People? It's apparent that the sophistication of the system failed the test of being safe and good for the People. Let it burn.

Now the question is how big the fire would be. If the People believe that they can stand the heat, then that's their decision. And if you go against it, then you're disrespecting the People; you're disrespecting your boss. You may get fired for that and the People will hire someone else to run things.

I wonder how this all plays out.
Let's pay . . . I mean pray.

Did you R E A L L Y believe that the senate would reject the bailout package today…beast? (voice like Gaston from Beauty and the Beast) Do you R E A L L Y believe it will be stopped in the house, beast? Sorry, don’t know what that means, feeling theatrical again

Anyway, most politicians are so utterly unconcerned about what average people think, or want, it astounds me to see just how many American’s are suddenly waking-up, believing they are participants in this corrupt, corporate run process, or that they can influence these crooks in some way. Don’t get me wrong, god love you if you’re passionate enough to email your statesman, but my guess is that 60,000 emails will elicit one Harry Reid fart for a reaction.

Our elected officials are DEAD inside, numb to your concerns. And the media is nothing but a tool for them to tell ‘YOU’ how ‘YOU’RE’ feeling. The only polls that actually reflect true public sentiment on the major media websites, are polls that have little corollary, or zero political impact. But don’t fret, perhaps you can still vote on dog costumes. Wait - I retract that, you cannot be trusted.

To change America you need to get the attention of the mindless masses, and they are in a zombie-like trance. Do they ever learn? Are they worth saving? Sadly, I’m beginning to wonder.

On the Brightside, sometimes there are variables that cannot be predicted, events that seem to level out the playing field - a divine karma.

It seems as though my state (Wis) is schizophrenic. One Yea and one Nay. Both Democrats incidentally. Who says that politics is boring eh?

Edited to add:

Thanks everyone for your input. I'll admit that I'm not very knowledgeable about a number of things but I try to learn and it's through input like this that I can learn.
