this whole flag thing is not helping. Cause honestly, its either a major bad on one of the sides. And who is going to admit their side is wrong, esp when its he said she said?

Great post BK. This election I know there is a lot at stake. Of course I really don't like taking sides which is why I am independent because I like to see what both parties have to offer. Anyways I hope things remain calm here.

Just to update you, the mods wouldn't remove my other threads that I asked them to.

So we just have to keep future posts and threads at the higher standard. If we do it, enough people will start to follow, and the people who don't will stand out.

I seriously believe we can transform this forum in short order if we lead by example and call people out who are not playing nice.

I agree. But with that, comes fessing up when we make mistakes.. I believe we have both done so, but if posts from earlier come up for either of us, lets just remember we have raised the bar today. I think people will want higher standards, and this will happen in short time, as you said.

That's you and me folks. We aren't right all the time and we aren't wrong all the time. Debate is great. Mudslinging is tomfoolery.

I just hope we can all take a breath, put things in perspective and make the Decision 2008 forum something to be proud of.

Let me correct you on 2 things you said right off the bat.

(1). Obama is NOT a US citizen, he was born in Kenya when his mother was 18 yrs old and ineligible to become a US citizen because of it. There are procedings in Federal District Court on the way.

(2). Obama is a Democrat. Democrats are SOCIALISTS. They have Communist Agendas. They insist that the Nanny Government take care of them rather than them taking care of themselves. They desire and push for SOCIAL PROGRAMS that do nothing other than indenture or enslave people to the Government. They want to tax everyone to high heaven and don't care if people are in control of their own destinies. They want to take from the Rich and bring the Poor up from the loot they pilfer from the Rich.

A man once said that he would rather teach a poor man to fish, than to just give him the fish. The reason for it was that if you taught the man to fish, he would become self sufficient. If you gave him the fish, he would depend upon you to feed him.

I am an independent. I hate political parties. Their platforms suck. They never follow through with all the rhetoric and promises they spew. They need accountability. They need to work for the people, not their own agendas and self centered interests.

I think that enough said.

Jamie and bknapple32 are making thoughtful statements about even handed political discourse, and the very thing they are concerned about happens in the thread almost immediately after their posts.

Jamie and the bknapple32 seem like very cool smart guys who obviously want to make the discussion and our time here better.

Is it too much to ask to give them a little respect?

I'll agree and reverse position about him being born in Kenya or Hwaii.

I would think if the Republicans or the "Illuminati" controllers i.e. GOD-Gold Oil Drugs - cartel that runs our national and inter-natinal politics did NOT believe it...MORE of "legal" fuss would have been made over the issue before now...however...conceding THAT point...

There hasn't been much of a "legal" fuss against the impeachable and treasonous ACTIONS over the last 8 years either...so...who get's "legally taken to count" and who is not...depends on things beyond one or a small group of citizens' control...and also sometimes beyond plain human common sense brutal truths given the facts.
