Water really is a fantastic conductor for electricity, we all know that.

No, water, specially drinking water, is not even a good conductor, any metal is millions of times better than water.

Plug in your hair dryer, take a bath, then drop in the hair dryer... report back to us on whether or not water is a good conductor

Kind of off the subject...but kind of related. A year or so back, I was watching a show on the travel channel(probably) about the 10 strangest spots on Earth. There was a story about a hermit that created amazing feats of stone work by himself. The reason this sticks out in my mind is that the commentator was standing by this 30 ton, rectangular, horizontal stone block in a channel. He and his staff, like 6 or 7 men total, were pushing this block as hard as they could. Nada. Then the commentator went a few feet away to a much smaller stone block, angled it towards the large stone, and walked over to it, and pushed it with ONE finger...the large stone spun like a top.
The story was that the hermit has figured out how to harness the lay lines/magnetic lines, and utilize them to create these unbelievable works of stone by himself...
Does anyone know this story? If so, was it around this area, or could there be any correlation?

Just got a book in the mail called "among the gnomes" written about the stories and folklore of untersberg. It's looking like it's going to be pretty interesting, a nice short read. I'll report back here when I'm done, perhaps some new insight awaits..

White Eagle - Do you have any details of recent sightings or stories about the dwarfs? And by recent i mean something like the last 5 years.
Are there any eye-witness reports, or do you mean that people still "believe" in the dwarfs nowadays, but haven't seen anything.
I would be very interested if people have SEEN something recently......

One further question - The Allies secured the Area around the Obersalzberg in May 1945, after a considerable aerial bombardment. Hitler's Berghof, along with many other buildings were significantly damaged. The Bergoh was finally blown up in 1952, seven years later, and all traces of it removed (supposedly, although bits remain), to avoid it becoming a shrine.
The Americans then held on to the Obersalzberg area (which is basically the side of a hill/mountain), using some of the remainign buildings for "leisure facilities" for US troops, finally handing it back to the local authorities in 1995. This possession, of course, also includes the underground network of bunkers and tunnels, many of which are still not open to the public.
The question therefore, would be: "What was so special about this area that the US held onto it for 50 years after the end of WWII? Surely not just so that troops had somewhere to go skiing......

If you love this story about the Untersberg, don't miss the thread titled:
Enigmantic Discovery in 2003 in the Bucegi mountains Romania...Linked to underground world, hidden kn
"Mysterious Energy in Bucegi Mountains.
These are some of the things happening there:
Bucegii are considered by specialists a powerful energy point. The place is claimed by yogis and seers. Hypotheses have been issued regarding the existence of underground galleries, divining tests were done. Research has shown that the area is filled with more energy than any of Romania. Traian Trufin, museum conservator at the Museum "Cezar Petrescu" in logs, journalist and researcher of strange phenomena which he witnessed, tried to find some explanation."
Be sure to get past the OP regarding giants and David Icke....the thread is more about the mountain and it anomalies. If you enjoy the Untersberg you'll enjoy the story of the Bucegi Mountains.
I was surprised I hadn't seen BlueOrb, Vanitas, Zorgon or Skyfloating posting over there...so I wanted to make sure you didn't miss it.
