I have always been told that having lustful thoughts is wrong and sinful. As a human you can't help but to think about sex at some point in your life. Is self stimulation of the sex organs a sin? Or is it natural and part of our imperfect "humanity?"

I believe it is referenced in the bible as "spilling seed", and I think it's filed under "unrighteous".

........ and people everywhere silently applaud your answer

To answer the OP, I'd say that if it IS a sin, then we're all toast. It depends upon the belief system a person filters their values through. If the only time people have sexual stimulation is to procreate, then woops, that might explain why the population increases geometrically.

LMAO. No way is it a sin. If it is, every male over the age of 14 is toast. I got to say though, that if it is a sin, well, I say God made us wrong then. We should of been taller and had shorter arms so we couldn't reach..........

I believe it is totally natural, and healthy. Now, if you are pleasing yourself while looking at little children or thinking about little children, then you have a problem. Sex is natural, if we weren't supposed to have it, why would it feel so good, if it was only to make children then it wouldn't be pleasurable. I believe, to have a healthy lifestyle and to reduce stress, sex is a very important factor in it. If you want to be pleased, sexually, and don't want to be going out and sleeping with all kind of people (if you are single), with the risk of making a child, or having some sort of STD, then why not masturbate, IT IS OK.

I believe the Christian/Catholic priests made masturbation to be a sin so it would be easier for them to molest little kids. For those saying that it is a sin, why?

That is the problem that most everyone associates masturbation with lustful thoughts. Most people have to think rude and nasty thoughts just to get them self off, so I would say to most, yes it is a sin.

For those who don't think rudely and disrespectfully of women and enjoy thinking of the beauty of her entire presentation plus don't feel ashamed of it afterwords, I would say no.

I feel that it is better to masturbate then to keep your emotions bottled up like so many do and then act out in perverse ways towards girls or whatever.

Remember that most men 15-60 watch porn and the ones that deny it are the ones that have sexual identity issues. I met a guy that he denied it and said that porn was stupid, he has a girlfriend. I replied that it has nothing to do with having or not having a girlfriend. He ignored me.

The next day I was helping him find some stuff on the net and there was some nude women from an adult dating site on an ad. He saw it and got all excited and said some comments that can't be mentioned here.

I thought, "Yep, that confirms what I figured yesturday. He has issues with porn and women!"

For him it is a sin, because of the way he thinks of women.

I enjoy the beauty in women that is why so many on the videos I watch are softcore and are not sex involved.

I believe people misinterpret sin. To me sin is something that takes away from being grounded, or limits a persons freedom. Honestly though, I do not like the word sin. It has too much harmful energy attached to it.

I believe that masturbation can be harmful in the sense that it releases chemicals in the body that can be addictive. So in other words the addiction to masturbation can be harmful to the self. That which is harmful to the self is also harmful to others.

We are all connected. On the other hand, it can be a kindness to the self. Churches (cults) use sexual repression to put a person in a more controllable state. Same with food restrictions and other things. Also, rules that a prone to making someone feel wrong for doing something puts them in a subservient state of mind.

I say rub one off in the name of freedom and love...

If it were, I'd be in a whole lot of trouble. Let's just say that age 13-16 would be enough to put me away for all of eternity.

Seems the unanimous decision here is, if it is a sin were all in for a boat load of hell with the river styx as a thirst quencher.

Well, if it is a sin, ill see you all in hell, ill be manning the bar

honestly, i dont know....

the spilling seed thing has to do with avoiding the obligation to give your widowed sister inlaw a child (i believe)

i dont really think the bible mentions anything about it, except maybe rude thoughts

First of I believe the bible can have it's good points but it was written by man, organize and hand picked through and put together by man. People who have strong beliefs like this tend to do whatever it takes to convay their message. Just because they say it doesn't make it true.

To all the girls from Charmed, I'm burning for you. Ha
