Of course, you won't and you'll just keep racking up the high school body count.

Nice attempt to use sensationalism to argue your point. But let me very easily refute this argument, along with all the rest of the anti-gun arguments.

Check out the map
here

I'll save you all a little time and point out that you'll notice that all of the school shootings and and most if not all of the other mass shootings have taken place in so-called gun free zones. Places where the law prohibits anyone from having a gun in order to defend themselves. Contrast that with what happened in Nevada recently. A shooter walked into a casino and just started shooting people. Waiting for the police to arrive would have cost perhaps many more injured or killed. Instead, a licensed CCW gun owner pulled his gun and took down the shooter. So, you must now ask yourselves what if just one teacher or student at Virginia Tech had been allowed to carry a gun for self defense? And how many lives would have potentially been saved?

Owning a gun is not a freedom, it's a mistake. Yes, I'm very scared of dangerous weapons in the hands of Americans. Stereotypes exist for a reason.

United States of America Constitution

Amendment 2

A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.

Sounds like a 'right' to me.

On your assessment of school shootings, every single one has been under a compete weapons ban since Columbine. It hasn't worked. School shootings are more common since the weapon-free school zones were established.

On your concept of removing guns from society, a gun can be made in a basement machine shop with a little expertise by anyone with machining ability. So can ammo. Smith & Wesson not required.

On your concept that all gun-owners are murderous villains, I strongly resent your implication and slander and strongly suggest you find some evidence to back that up. I am a gun owner. Please provide some evidence that I am a 'murderous villain'.

P.S.: I hereby predict that CCBenjamin's response will resort to more slander and/or misrepresentation of gun owners without any factual evidence for support.

Actually it is a sad day when the Supreme Court has to take time to rule on individual rights that are already guaranteed by the Constitution, specifically the 2nd Amendment. Then to have it re-affirmed by a 5-4 vote? We shouldn't have our liberties reaffirmed like that. They should be automatic and unquestioned.

What's *really* sad is the fact that the vote was so dangerously close. Kennedy could have had one of his brain farts and gone the other way.

The thing I don't understand is why so many from outside this country get in such an uproar over our gun laws. I've never understood that. If the British want to ban guns, that's fine with me. That's their right and it has absolutely no effect on me.

By the same token, we also have the right to determine our own laws and regulations regarding domestic gun ownership, just as they do. A little respect for this fact would occasionally be nice.

"Owning a gun is not a freedom. It isn't something you should be able to do, period, because it is obviously a mistake waiting to happen. Aren't you sick of school shootings yet?

Guns are dangerous weapons. Only trained professionals should have them, and only where necessary. The general public should not be armed! What kind of mentality is it that dictates it is okay for Joe Bloggs on the street to have a leathal weapon?! And you are defending it!"

I must disagree with you on the first part of your statement. here, In the USA. Owning a gun is a freedom gauranteed to US Citizens under the 2nd ammendment to the United States of America Constitution..
I will agree with you that they are dangerous weapons.. They are designed to be such, so are crossbows, bows, swords.etc...
As far as trained professionals being the only ones allowed to own and use firearms.. That actually scares me more than just letting the criminals have them..
As far as the type of mentality that will let "Joe Bloggs" have a firearm?. I think that is actually a very "Liberal" Ideology.. The Idea that most of our citizens have the right to be trusted and afforded the oportunity to have an "arsenal" equivelant to or even sometimes better than our own "Armed forces" Speaks volumes to me, in that our founding Fathers and our own citizenry have such faith in Humanity that this is not only allowed in this country, but it is also a right!!!
I do not expect to change your opinion, nor do I wish to demonize you for having your opinion, You are more than welcome to have a differing opinion than mine, and that does not make you an idiot nor does it mean that you are somehow less intelligent than I.. All it means is that we dissagree, albeit Vehemently, As You may not fathom my stand on this, I also am unable to emote with your view.. But, there is no need for derogatory comments..
