Actually I need to get my bartenders license renewed as that was the best paying job I've had.

The yokel who set me up with the job told me it was an awesome gig...

4 -6 hour shifts, mostly in the middle of the week for a 5 star restaurant working service bar. I had to split tips with the waiters/cooks/Host(ess)etc...my take usually ended up at ~15% of many slow nights and I failed to make gas money back many a night (2 hour commute in L.A. traffic to and fro.

Worst job ever. Quitting that one was the best thing I ever did.

Rant Over.

It's Saturday Morning...bar keep...double shot of whatever is dark and 40%....

Yeah, mine was more, 2 miles from my apartment and close to the capitol. It was a favorite hang out for the various state congressman and senators. Didn't have to split tips that came my way and I still got 10% from the community tips. Had to quit cause of school.

Bartenders.

We DJs used to wipe our shoes on their foreheads.
They also got our "practice" girls.

Well...when we start our debate, you'll have an oppurtunity to experience the flip side of that sentiment...

Pff, when you throw out the Speaker of the House of your state government then get paid off to keep your mouth shut to the media, then you can brag.

Dear lord FS, what on earth are you talking about?

Long story short, one Thursday night abunch of the members of the state legislature were having beers, BSing, typical night. Anyways, as the night progresses, one of them gets completely trashed and starts getting belligerently drunk. Nothing new, you'd be surprised on how much of your tax dollars go into booze btw. Anyways, he gets up and while I'm mixing a drink for another customer goes and grabs a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label from the bar. I notice this and yell at him "Hey, are you gonna pay for that." At which point he basicly tells me to F off. Considering I didn't take anything from anyone there, I went to his table, grabbed the bottle and told him to get out. At which point he tried to physically fight me and a bouncer needed to ,ahem, escort him out of the place. While he's going back into his limo a man comes up to me and says, "I think we could agree this incident could be kept out of the papers." and pulls out the biggest wrap of $100 bills I've ever seen. He hands both the bouncer and I $2000 each and I've kept my mouth shut about it except to close friends and boards where I can be relatively anonymous. I didn't find out he was the Speaker of the house until I later saw a campaign poster for him this election season.

Nice....

My bar/restaurant served Nancy Reagan (no incident; I'm sure she is a sweetheart)...the tips still sucked...

Okelydokely, fair enough, I guess should have known that.

And since I live in DC I am familiar with intoxicated politicians.

May I ask what this has to do with bartenders being relegated to the DJs practice girls?

For those interested...the Debate Final has been scheduled for commencement on Friday due to scheduling conflicts.

Stay Tuned for:

Debate Final...Ian McLean vs Skyfloating

Until then, I recommend debate satiation be found in many of the current Challenge Matches (Oscitate vs Heike; budski vs Schro Dog ((should Schro Dog ever decide to continue...
)) and americandingbat vs FSBlueApocalypse)...and of course, the revelry and inanity that is the Fight Club Pub.

Thank You...
