Last I heard they were supposed to start today.

Although I do know some of them, like mine and Skyfloating at least, won't start until Monday.

Should be up sometime today though.

All you have to do is adjust the url to make it go to the next page. Manually adjust 228 to 229. That is what I did to read your post.

Don't waste your energy Ashley. I've told 'em that before too, but they don't listen to girls.

Still no sign of Lucid btw.

Hey, I'm well aware of how it works, I just flip the page so everybody doesn't have to do that.

Just trying to help the common good.

That's it. We're going to have to plan a take over and show the boys how it's done.

Good morning

Mr. Shock, I'm very pleased with the pairings and topics, but I have one question:

Am I GAOTU or 44soulslayer?

There seems to have been a cut&paste issue

And a non-related issue: if Oscitate and I both have 2-0 records, how come he has 4 points and I have 3? Is this one of those glass-ceiling things we women have to overcome?

Topics and pairings look great MS!

I'll have to be on my toes for this one, even though it's a skirmish, I know skyfloating is looking for revenge.

In related news...it looks like I just made tinWiki editor.

What is the deal with this points thing? And why does anyone care about it? Is there some big prize for having the most points? If not, what kind of points are these that they have such great value? I thought tournaments were the only competitive thing here.

edit to add: I love my debate topic and postion!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!

Bragging rights.

If you have the most points, you can rightfully say that you are on top of the debating mountain.

I think it has to do with ranking and challenges as well. As in, a 'higher up' can't challenge a newbie or 'lower down' to a debate. Something like that, anyways, I read in the rules months ago.

I personally don't care about the points and waived my right to them privately during my last debate if I won. They're not that big of a deal to me and anyone who debates me in the future is more than welcome to keep their points if they lose. But I think they serve a purpose for challenges and tournament rankings. I might be wrong, though. They're not vital but they do serve a purpose... even just for bragging rights sometimes.

I expect that to change after the next tournament, though...

Edit to Add: Ashley is spot on. They are relevant for tournament rankings/pairings so that potential 'Debate Final' worthy match-ups don't always happen in the first round. Much like a playoff system for national sports (except for college football..
).
