I have a rule where I never drink before 7pm, and only on weekends (usually)

It sounds a bit OCD, but it works for me and ensures I don't over imbibe

I like a few drinks, but am past the point (and age) where I want to get drunk - more of a mellow buzz.

Not a bad rule.

I try not to drink except on weekends anymore as well. The only exception being a nice cold beer or two after a stressful day at work.
