@Orange: I don't agree with your translation. ""Wer sich nicht wehrt, lebt verkehrt" would, in my opinion, be more like "Who does not resist, lives wrongly." Although, wrongly is an awkward word. "Verkehrt" is one of those German words that doesn't have a perfect translation, but it means something like "amiss, or the wrong way around."

i have to confess: i didn.t do that translation.
found it on the web.

maybe insteat of that akward "wrongly" incorrect?
the expression is so lovely in german - so i would love to have the correct or appropriate english translation

messed up isn.t the right expression for my feeling.
it is more the meaning, that somebody doesn..t live the right way, the appropriate way
for punks

nobody - at least of the generation younger than 60 cares about nudity. it is kind of normal, which doesn.t mean that german people run around nude.
you also talk very open with other girls about female subjects

does anybody know the show desperate housewives?
some of the prudish attitudes and behaviour of bree and susan is very akward for most of my fellow country (wo)-men

did anybody ever debated without sources?

the 10-sentences-rule is the limit of quoting for one post, isn.t it.

We've had them before - they're rather good fun.

I seem to recall it was going to be a weekly event, but we've been a bit slack about it.

I feel I have the advantage however, as it's 19:45 here and I've started on my beer, so my comedy dial is turned up to max

Never...

I would have to get comfortable with smiling 20 hours out of the day and I sure wouldn't like the morons who buy into 'feel good rhetoric' as if it were holy writ...

Though, idealic as it is, I think it is accurate. Tactics and Strategies, as long as they are within the rules/guidelines, should be varied.

And everyone should keep in mind that Challenge Matches have the unique attribute of having negotiable rules; as long as consensus is reached between the two participants the rules of engagement are up to you guys. Tournaments are pretty much the only non-negotiable periods as far as rules go.

Yes...the ten sentence rule for external sourcing is per post.

why being worried?

the comedy debate is just what i need tonight!

but i am passive in it!

edit to add:

back to quoting:

so it would be entirely ok to built up a whole debate on rhethoric without any quoting?
or do i absolutly need sources to proof my thoughts?

(besides such debates i.g on organic food and similar)

You should run for local office, then. Local politicians don't have to media-plastic-smile all the time.

I bet you would find some interesting stories to tell.

PS: Hey how about posting yvids as links, not embedded video? Am I the only one who thinks they spam up the thread a little?

Oh goodness...someone as 'fringe and liberal' as I would likely have a hard time getting re-elected (I would, of course pander to the middle ground to get elected the first time)...

I second that. It gets a bit redundant after the fortieth Monty Python video...

I actually almost posted something to that effect but didn't want to be a big bad meanie...
