I think that both you and I know where i believe the foundation of the "trinity" lies and its not with any creed.
im sorry, your right, it was the Babylonians that came up with the trinity.
Could i ask with all respect and genuine interest of how the following verse reads with you and if this has come to pass or when and how it will come
to pass?
i promise this is a genuine interest and im not going to argue any particular point as i dont belive there is anything to be gained. im just trying to
understand a point of view. That is if you are okay with this. or we can go U2U on it. up to you
Isaiah 9:6 KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
several things to note
- child, son. these are something you usually refer to a separate being from a father. yes you can say a man can be a father and a son at the same
time, but thats only if you involve another man. noone is ever their own father.
- the bible repeated talks about jesus receiving a kingdom not just from his father, but in revelation he gives it back to his father.
- the names are titles. the first one, wonderful is appropriate, his works and deeds are wonderful
- counsellor, counsellor to whom? GOD perhaps?
- mighty god. notice first that it is not ¨almighty¨. only GOD is called ¨almighty¨. Jesus NEVER was called almighty. there is a major difference
between powerful and all powerful. god too is title, but it is not exclusive to GOD. satan is also refered to as a god. god could be taken to mean
¨someone powerful¨
- everlasting father. since jesus claimed us by his blood, he can be refered to as our father. without him we have no chance at life. but doesnt
nessesarily mean this is the same father as GOD the father
- prince of peace. after armageddon, jesus prince peace. notice its prince, and not king. jesus is still in subject to his father.
john 5:[19] Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father
do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
john 6:[38] For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
john 7:[16] Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
mat 20:[23] And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right
hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
luke 22:[42] Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
