Well, if you follow the Bible or are familiar with it, it says God created the world we now inhabit & formed us in his image. I would be led to
believe we 'sin' because our creator has those same tendencies. This would better explain the origins of evil & the dualities of God's nature
between the Old (vengeful,angry,wiping out populations, acting as a child who does not get what he wants) & New Testaments (kinder, more enlightened &
aware of himself & his creation). God could be seen as being perfect not because he is devoid of evil, but because he is balanced & has become aware
of his own nature. Something akin to the Yin & Yang. God's own sin is that he tried to shield us from this knowledge of ourselves. So when
Adam/Lilith/Eve were enlightened as to their true nature & that of their creator, I'm sure it was a bit of a shock. Would you not rebel against this
hypocrisy, especially if you were tossed from Paradise because you became aware of who you really were?
Perhaps that is why we have the problems in the Abrahamic religions that we do. Instead of coming to grips with who we are & understanding
ourselves & our tendencies, we reject what we believe to be evil as something apart from us, outside of us. We shirk responsibility for our thoughts &
actions because we are told that it is this Devil, Satan, Lucifer, whatever you call him, that is responsible for our woes. This makes no sense, as he
was one of God's children as well, he is as his creator made him, no more, no less. He is the ultimate scapegoat for those who refuse to believe
there exists an inherent evil in us just as there is an inherent good. Maybe that's the idea behind repentance & forgiveness, he will forgive those
who are honestly repentant for their perceived sins, because he understands our nature & his.
So maybe religions & people in general should stop condemning others for their nature & seek to understand their own, making it easier to bridge
gaps & identify with those we may disagree with, making the world a far better place. Perhaps we should worship less & perceive more, learn to
identify with this very 'human' deity if he does in fact exist.
