News reports say that 2 American soldiers were killed and 3 others wounded, along with a civilian translator. They were setting up an outpost and they were under attack by insurgents, and this Iraqi soldier opened fire and fled, but was identified by other Iraqi troops and captured. This pregnant story is just propaganda in hopes of turning Iraqis against Americans since many Iraqis have been working with Americans and violence has been going down. Need some ammunition to help turn the tide. This pregnant story confirms that desperation. Why this make up story? Not enough motivation?

The America Media is trustworthy?

Must have missed that note....

I don't know why people would automaticallu assume this story is false, obviously verification is desireable, but it is hardly a shock considering the behaviour of many of the american troops in Iraq, take this story from 2006 for example
A 14-year old girl gang-raped, killed and burned by americans, the girl had to listen to her parents being shot dead by the evil sick twisted americans as they raped her
www.youtube.com...

Which was absolutely horrible. I know its not much, but atleast the individuals held accountable are all facing life sentences for such brutal acts.

The fact is, once we focus on the bad, we cant see any good. That is exactly what is happening here.

And people are questioning this for good reason. Al Quaeda is very sneaky.

One of the americans involved said he went to Iraq to kill people.

And that is what they are for...They are not a police force. That is the problem I see....

Now if those americans aren't a representation of totally depraved evil, then what is. And those guys are representatives of the nations that sent them there to kill.

Its safe to say that those americans are. I have talked to an Iraqi girl who was very attractive and 21 years old. Im sure she attracted attention from just about everybody. She believed in what the US forces were doing though. She said that things were bad over there, but under saddam, and his sons, they were much worse. I have seen countless pictures, along with videos, of US soldiers holding iraqi children, embracing them, crying with them, and hugging them. There are some bad apples over there, but there are alot of good ppl that are US soldiers that are over there, who believe in what they are doing.

I dont think its fair to look at one side while blindly chooseing to ignore the other side.

And we all know how US soldiers like to shoot Iraqi children...

While I agree with you on that note NewWorldOver, I must say I think that the US Media WOULD cover a story of this magnitude. It makes Bush Look even more foolish which leads to Obama (at least based off of one caucus result) running against romney... and the Repubs are already losing coverage focus because of the historical relevance of Obama's caucus win (first African-American VIABLE presidential candidate)

So Liberal or not the Media is going to support the Dem's as Obama is more of a story... More flash and appeal; and of course the historical relevance of his election. While the media may be corrupt they ARE smart. They make the stories that make the big stories. Why not make one people are actually interested in seeing?

Sorry to go off topic but I have had my bouts with my local media on a recent local campaign. I KNOW how they work... they're bitter, and conniving, but they get the results they want.

Settle down pal, Im not condoning beating pregnant women or anything but
you're treading on a slippery slope that really isn't too far from chopping off hands for theft and public stonings for being in the company of a man who isn't a relative.

No. It's exposing the truth of anti-American bigotry. Deal with it.

common sense

If you actually had 'common sense' you would admit that there is no evidence to support this anti-american propaganda and that those that lap it up are nothing more than anti-American bigots.

against those thick skulled patriots that have never stepped outside America and seen the real world.

America IS part of the real world. Oh .. and I've been to Canada, Venezuela, Bolivia, Croatia, Bosnia, Yugoslavia, Lichtenstein, Germany, France, Italy .. and I lived in Japan for three years. (even if I never left America .. it wouldn't matter)

Stop being so anti-Iraqi,

If I were anti-Iraqi I would have left them all to be mass murdered and raped by Saddam. YOU stop being anti-Iraqi .. and anti-American.

and don't bother replying to me

It doesn't work that way. Grow up.

I wish we still got WATS to award, you'd get mine for this month. Your entire post was excellent. The anti-americans lap up the propaganda ... and don't care that there are no facts to support it.

Thank you for posting the FACTS. Yes it definately is propaganda .. and look at how many people on this thread fell for it - let alone the poor Iraqis. :shk:

For the sake of all that's even remotely good and holy, could you all please cease and desist with the ridiculous stereo-typing?!!
On one side you got: americans bad people
on the other side you got: american haters are bad people
on the other side you got": christians are bad people
on yet another side you got: jews are bad people.
and muslims are bad people. and everyone's a freakn' terrorist, and at the gates of Hell and we're all goign to hades in a handbasket!!

Let me tell you about stereotyping:

If even one of you MEN would like to be held personally responsible for all the bad things other men have done to women down through the course of history (this is stereotyping on stereoids!), then step right up!! If you don't because it's obviously not your fault that other MEN acted improperly, then do me a favor and remember that when referring to other people!

Good freakn' grief. Get the picture already

As an American I love to hear the anti-American hatred on this thread, because you're working to persuade many overly tender Americans of the rightness of my foreign-policy-tips...which are like " All that you foreign unsuitables ( sitting with your grandmother in a dried-up streambed while the sewage flakes rain down from the sky ) have, are things that we have allowed you to have - You hate us - We hate you - We're going to devote our time to throwing you out of the lifeboat from now on." So I very much enjoy reading your semi-English-speaking plaints, as they are both amusing and instructive, and may someday goad us into becoming the bloody-minded genocidal killers that you accuse us of being now.
But from your point of view, I question whether it's really in your interest to wise up us American chumps by exposing your hateful insufficiency...It might work out better for you if you could confine yourselves to toothlessly muttering your febrile curses in your own oh-so-important language from now on...but, hey, knock yourselves out.

They are. Either that or they are incredibly stupid.

They sit here whining and complaining about something ... and there is no evidence to support it. They just blather anti-Americanisms on and on ... and yet it's obvious propaganda.

What I do not comprehend is why are people so quick to assume this story is true? As if what was posted that Americans hurting a pregnant woman is written in stone.

There are some bad people in the military, as there is in any organization. That is a given. Should the unlikely event be true that these soldiers did in fact hurt a pregnant woman, I will be first to say they should have been tried under Iraqi law. I have said the same for the people that raped the Iraqi girl from another incident. There is no excuse for that.

However, I see no evidence so far that these guys hurt anyone.

What's more, we all have the biggest library at our disposal -- The Internet!

I have found NO credible evidence this story is true. What this is leaning towards is there was an insurgent dressed in an Iraqi Army uniform, saw the chance to kill an American officer as well as other Americans, took that chance, then fled the scene.

That is what I have gathered about this story.

C'mon people.... Use your noggin!!

It's not a THEY thing. THEY is a big ugly box to stick individuals in. Get rid of the thing. It causes war, hate, violence, greed. It sucketh the raw tomato!!!

What is your deal? I think just about everybody has condemned those acts along with those scoundrels who committed such atrocities. They do not deserve to be called soldiers. Yet you still bring it up..

Do you notice how there were only 3 convicts? Why not more? imean if all US soldiers do is rape and pillage whatever they want, why so few who committed the above acts? I will tell you why, its because if there had been more US personnel there, it wouldnt have ever happened. Why are you focusing on one tragic event, that had a very small following, and passing it off in a generalized way? You sir, have an agenda... You ignored my videos thus sleeping in your own bed of blissful ignorance.

I hear you undo, but .... Anti-Americans put themselves into a 'they' and 'us' category. It's just the way it is. When someone sits on a computer and whines about America and slams it for something that there is no evidence of ... then THEY become THEY. They did it to themselves.

It's because the person is stuck in THEY mode.

Truth is, THEY are not at fault. It's only about the guys who are actually in charge of this planet. No one group of people is responsible for anything.
We are all individuals.

Past occurences. American soldiers raping a 14 year old girl while murdering her parents, than murdering her and burning her corpse.

I'm pretty sure that's the kind of thing that gives America zero credibility when it comes to news out of Iraq. It doesn't matter anymore how many soldiers say we are doing good over their etc. Something has totally dismantled our faith in our own troops because that's how much of a pathetic mess this entire occupation has become.

But the reasoning is varied. It's never about a particular issue or nationality or religious bent. The reasons and level of anomosity is often contingent on personal experience. For example, I would not like to see the country i live in decimated. Alternatively, there are some things that happen that I disagree with. Some people love America but hate war, and even those reasons are varied. The THEY box is not specific enough and it's just too handy to spread war and hate.

War has always been like that. Every pagan, christian, atheist, judaic, islamic, communist and socialist war, in fact, any kind of war you care to name, has been rife with inhumanity.

We can thank Darwin that this mindset will not be getting better, any time soon.
