Hi Shugo!!

Well done to you - let's go find ET!! Seriously, much appreciated, as we're trying to reach 150kWU's for the team before the move to BOINC takes place!! Every WU helps to achieve this goal!!

Seeing this thread got me looking at the member list more closely. 121 members out of 320 have over 100 work units, and some of the new members are moving up. We are cheering them on, too!

It's actually very easy to get 100 workunits. Took me 2 weeks and a half. I can get 40 WU's done a week.

Well done EXR!!

Well, of course, it *is* easy if you've got a fast machine or access to a bank of "number-crunchers". However, for people who only have access to "slower" machines, it can take a considerable amount of time to complete 1WU (I can remember my first year with SETI@home running on a P2 233Mhz machine where my average WU completion time was 35 hours per WU) so it is very much dependent on the equipment you have available to use.

But, as they say, it could be *that* WU that is being slowly "crunched" that contains the evidence we're seeking - even a slow machine could discover that one!! Every little helps, as they say!!

EDIT: typo's!!

Just FYI.

I had to put my Seti Crunching on a hiatus when pc changes etc were happenning here at home. I will be eventually doing this again to increase my unit count, but am still not there yet.

But wow look at all the 100+ Members now!

Wooo Hooo! well it's taken me five months but, I've just become a part of the 1000+ WU club
I've just downloaded my certificate.
I'm happy now. I was worried that I wouldn't make it before the change over to BOINC. I can sleep easy now

Hi pantha!!

Very many congratulations on your achievement!! As for BOINC, well, I'm waiting the "call" and will be fascinated to see how it compares to SETI@home "original"!!

Excellent stuff pantha - going for the 2.5k certificate?

2.5K? I think thats a bit ambitious! At the rate I'm going, that would take a further 7 1/2 months.
I expect that our beloved SETI@home will just be a distant memory by then as we are shooting up the ranks on the boards for BOINC.
Do we know if there are still going to be certificates for milestones there?

Hmm, beats me pantha!! Forward, please, xn (or one of our stalwart BOINC beta team!! )

Seriously, I guess there *will* be but, as this is (comparatively) "cosmetic", then I suppose all BOINC resources are focussed on the program itself??
