Oil at $88 a barrel now..how much more until we're priced out of energy altogether..solar power aint gonna cut it..we need that alien technology the fascist pigs are keeping to themselves..this could all be resolved..

I'm of the opinion that necessity, not aliens, is the mother of invention. The more expensive oil gets, the more attractive alternative fuels get. And once those are developed, they become relatively less expensive. It's all a matter of simple economics.

Even if the "fasict pigs" do have alien technology tucked away for a rainy day, do you honestly think they're going to give it to you for free, out of the goodness of their hearts? Oh, no. You'll be paying as much or more for it than you did oil.

You'll look back wistfully at the time you once drove around in gas-powered cars and only paid a few bucks for a gallon of the stuff. Ah, those were the days!

Yea I know already, thing is will they slip the technology in through 'normal' channels..time really is running out before bad things happen. China is booming..so is India and they are hungrier for oil than we are somehow I don't think bio-diesel will make things better

There would be an initial startup cost, but of course with economies of scale, the cost would diminish to a point where everybody could have them in their homes and in their cars and everywhere.

Free energy is extracted from the quantum vacuum. It actually comes from 'thin air'. Once you have the apparatus and the means, there is ZERO ongoing cost.

Oil companies would be completely redundant. The "facist pigs" suddenly have no control. They have nothing. They wither and die. People have the power instead - literally.

Wasn't it Nicolai Tesla that invented that, and them rich and powerfull folks destroyed it all and left him bankrupt?

Who needs water and hydrogen fuel.

I guess that assumes that this marvelous little gizmo is going to be the size of a microwave oven, can be repaired by anybody with a Phillips screwdriver, and run on old apple cores. Hopefully, it won't require any exotic materials in short supply.

That's a pretty pleasant dream. It's got a nice revenge angle to it. But my guess is that any efficent zero point power generator will be the size of a current power plant, require extremely high technical skills and computer control to regulate, and require big quantities of stuff like yttrium, which the oil companies will simply buy and the control production of.

Don't want to harsh anybody's buzz, but in my experience, that's just the way things generally work out. There's always a catch, somebody will always find a way to screw the little guy, and there's no such thing as a free lunch.

No it doesn't, Nicolai Tesla did it alone in his lab, its the guy that created the AC for electricity, wireless technology such as radio Waves et c.

It was basically a small container, that could be fit in a car et c. Would probably have become nano today.

But your right it wont be free, there might be an energy tax or something.

I really hope we as humans can come to terms with free energy and all the other technologies that will make life easier. It's just that money is power and without it there's no government. I watched this movie and thought it made alot of since about the Federal Reserve. I just want to say that I don't believe everything that's said and shown in it, so keep an open mind and come to your own conclusions.

Here's the movie.

NO, NO, NO...

You guys got it all wrong. The free energy thing doesn't really come from "thin air".

It was created by Dr. Emmet Brown, It's called the "flux capacitor" He improved it on his journey to the future and installed "Mr. Fusion" It runs on garbage.

That's the ticket laddie....

Oh, sure I've built crystal radio sets that pull energy out of the air for "free." But I'm not running my computer from it. And that big tower of power Tesla built didn't fit in a car.

But if his little free energy machine was so simple and easy to understand and build, where is it now? Oh, of course, the Government Dog ate it. And nobody in the whole world has been able to figure it out again and adequately publicize and market something like it in over 100 years? Oh, there's that danged Government Dog again! You'll forgive me, but you have to admit some parts of that story just don't make sense.

But your right it wont be free, there might be an energy tax or something.

Yeah, somebody is bound to figure out a way to control it and charge for it and tax it. Water falls free from the sky somewhere every day. But I still get a water bill.

we could be living in a utopia with alien technology. where money doesn't equal happiness. In this little utopia of free energy, everyone has free energy, free A.I. robots that cook, clean, build shelters, sew clothing, provide water, etc. for basic necessities We wouldn't have to work in jobs that aren't fun just for money. Instead we'd be working in jobs that we have fun with... like creative jobs to help better ourselves as a society. there wouldn't be a need for money and everyone would be rich. The only difference is that the elitists would lose their power and influence over others. But they would still be just as rich - but this time as rich as everone else. Too bad the elitists are addicted to their power and influence. That's why they aren't releasing this technology.

Yeah I hear ya Nohup. We are paying to die so that all the top notch people can have their way with us. Nobody is free person in this world. We are all slaves to something, but the biggest master is money.
Here's that full version of Zeitgeist the movie.

Even rich people are slaves to their money and social positions. But they can't buy a better Coca-Cola than me, and they might have solid gold toilets but the same thing goes in them.

Karl Marx used to have this pastoral utopian Socialist dream about freedom from the oppression of large instititions, where everybody lives in peace and prospertity on small farms like peaceful hippies. A lot of people died for that dream, too. These days, a lot of folks have another sort of utopia in mind, where we get to drive all day and play our stereos and computer games and nobody has to pay for any of the energy and oil company executives are beggars on the street.

But you know what it is? It's nostalgia for youth, when our parents took care of us and we didn't have to worry about working for a living, and paying bills, and we could play all day. I guess it's a little sad, but we don't get to go back to being kids again. Friendly aliens aren't going to save us, we're still going to have to go to work, and some big corporation or utility company will always get their share.

Of course, who owns the Mr. Fusion Corporation? British Petroleum and Energy Systems, that's who! And the hovercar driver's license fees and fusion neutron smog/safety check fees are very high. Conversion kits are expensive, and fusion system repair is astronomical, particularly at a dealership. It runs on garbage, of course, but who owns all the garbage control and recycling contracts? Organized crime. You can barely find a pop can or chewing gum wrapper on the streets anymore! Biomass is all being converted to food or fertilzers, and they charge you to take it from you!

A flux capacitor would be nice, but they're not just giving them away. Who can afford one? Not me!

I like to get out and drive up to the mountains to get away from things for awhile. I see these big log cabins that had to cost a fortune and I say wow! what a house. But then on back in the mountains I drive by some small run down houses with people that wave at you when you drive by. They have a garden full of veggies and corn. They pretty much take care of themselfs like in the old days. I'm telling ya, we are losing our ability to care for ourselfs anymore. The government like that too! I bet alot of people today would not survive if we lost power and had to fend for themselves.

You do realize that inflation adjusted, we have not yet even reached previous peaks in oil prices? Meaning real prices were higher in the past. So stop complaining. Peak oil is here and prices will be over 100 within a few years. Problem is most people like you are too dumb to profit from it. Instead of buying oil stocks and having a smile on your face at the gas station when your pay $3+ you chose to complain and whine like a little baby. Dont worry if enough people like you get together and complain the government will jack up taxes even more so they can help you.

What you fail to realize was in the 'past' it was the U.S. as the biggest consumer, now there are at least 2 other U.S. size nations or bigger that are as hungry for oil, with the same dwindling supply? China & India are no longer on the side lines..they are here..NOW & experience economic good times. They want the same standards of living as us, they want more cars, more resources than EVER before.
Its getting harder to get at the oil resources as they dry up which also contributes to the price.

Your stock money wont do you much good when the oil runs out, maybe you can buy a vat of linseed oil and run your fat a$$ hummer on that.

My hummer will not be running on oil by the time oil runs out. That I can assure you of. Problem is not of oil running out, that will NEVER happen. What will happen is the supply of oil will becoming increasingly constrained. The oil that is left is more expensive to drill for.

So in the past 150 years weve used about 1 trillion barrels of oil.
There is over 1 trillion PROVEN conventional oil reserves left. No one knows for sure, but estimates are the actual number is around 3 trillion. Then comes "heavy" oil, Alberta, Canada has an estimated 1.8 trillion, Venezuela has 1.2 trillion. Not to mention the 2.6 trillion in shales in US. Include all the "unconventional" reserves and that adds 6.5 trillion. Even all the oil fields that have drilled the past 150 years still have about 50% of their oil left. Oil fields are abandoned once about 50% of the oil is gone because it becomes too costly at that point, they are NEVER sucked dry. Furthermore about 25% of the world has NOT been explored for oil. So you can add another 25% to the 7-9 trillion. If after all that, you still believe we will run our of oil in our lifetime or your grandkids lifetime for that matter, you need help that I cannot offer.

-Really "pwnd."
