Wow Rasobasi420,

have two versions of Jason Voorhees, 2 Freddy Kruegers, Leatherface, Pinhead and all of his Centabites, Candyman, The T-100 from Terminator, Michael Myers, Shawn from Shawn of the Dead, as well as about a half dozen zombies from various zombie movies, like Dawn of the dead, Land of the Dead, Resident evil, and such.

Where do you get these kinds of action figures?

Newbury Comics has them, but a lot of them I have to buy online. They are extremely realistic. I first bought them to take pictures, and set up pose them in different scenes. Now I have so many that I have completely random people fighting each other.

I have a pic set of Ash from Evil Dead fighting Jason Voorhees, and another of Michael Myers killing Bob and Doug Mackenzie. Oh yeah, I also buy normal looking guys like the Mackenzie brothers, Steve Irwin, and others which I then mutilate and pose as victims.

I'm really not insane though, really.

I collect running shoes....have about 40+ pairs....some that I wear and most that i don't....

Have a pair of spikes from the 30's worn by Jesse Owens in the 1936 Olympics....made by Adidas (actually not called Adidas then.....called Adidassler which is the name of the owner of the company, Adi Dassler. The name was later shortened to Adidas. His brother Rudolph Dassler started Puma......)

Have another pair of Adidas from the 50's (also track spikes) and numerous pairs of shoes from the 1970s including alot of rare Nike's...many made in the USA (Nike started in 1972 in Oregon....was originally called Blue Ribbon Sports....they sold running shoes made by another company (Tiger) until they started manufacturing their own....

I have lots of Adidas, Tigers, Nikes, Pumas, Karhu (2 pairs from 1970....Karhu is a Swedish company and originally had the three stripe logo, but sold it to Adidas in the 1950's...the spikes I have from 1936 have no logo on them at all....just AdiDassler written on the bottom of the shoe), Bukta (made in Europe), Reebok, Pony, etc....

I'm in the process of thinning out the collection and selling some on ebay!!

When I was young, about 13 years old I collected business cards. They where like baseball cards to me. They were free and the wealthyer the person of the card the higher the value was to me. I would ride my bike around going to different businesses asking for there business cards. They would always look at me strange but give me the cards. I had five hundred of them.

At the age of 16 when I was around a bunch of people that drank beer. I think it was called Lucky beer, where the bottle caps had a word puzzle to solve. I collected about a hundred different puzzeled caps.

When I was 20 I was a janitor at a department store and collected the tags of dresses that had pictures of women modeling the close. Pretty friggin lame if you ask me. I had fifteen of them.

At the age of 30, I rented porn videos and copied them to videocassette. Most of them I never even watched. I just was collecting something. I rented 300 videos in 2 years at $2.50 a pop. What a waiste of money. I gave the tapes to my friend. It wouldn't of been as much of a waiste if I actualy watched them all.

Now I just try to collect my sanity! :bnghd:

Many people don't realize that they are collecting things because they are tring to fill a void in their lives. It is basic Psychology that is unknown to many. The thing is that we all have voids in our lives, it just that some deal with it differently. Collecting is one of them.

Interesting theory. If this psychology is so basic, why is it unknown to many? Wouldn't it be known to many if it was basic? I would think non-basic psychology would be unknown to many...

Many people do have voids in their lives....example: no hobbies, no interests. Having hobbies and interests actually adds to a person's life. Collecting is a hobby. Collections can have monetary value, sentimental value or both.....but, they do have value.

Just because knowledge is basic does not mean that it is well known. It just means that as soon as you learn about the subject that is one of the first things that you learn.

Most people don't study Psychology, they just look at people and think they can make an educated opinion. That is called "Armchair Psychology"

The voids you mention are deffinately correct. Just because you have a void in your life that doesn't mean that it is something serious.

Sometimes an "uneducated" opinion is better than an "educated" one. Sometimes education gets in the way of truth. Education can cause bias.

This makes no sense. Do you know most people? There are over 6 billion people in the world. Do you know most of them?

But...one can certainly get an education from life. A much better education than any book or class could teach....

So....aren't all opinions educated?

It's people like you that are all over this forum. You have no respect for anyone that is why you never agree with anyone.

I will be honest in saying that the way you act proves that you never learn because you never listen. You are the deffinition of a complete moron.

You think you know it all and you are so insecure that you need to spend all your time proving every comment wrong.

This is why I don't waiste my time with making comments on this forum because it is completely counterproductive.

The reality is that most people that read your crap will see that you are never agreeing with anything and think your an idiot because of it.

Now if you want to have a real conversation, get a grip then learn a little about what your talking about.

See so many of you here are so uneducated and you think you can prove everyone wrong. You never listen or agree, therefore you never learn.

That is why I just play the word games and avoid the idiotic insecure games you guys pull.

Hey look at my point count. It's very low because I have better things to do than argue with some idiot that will never get it.

Gosh MrM. Take a step back and breathe. No need to get hostile. Everyone has a right to their opinion.

Now continuing with the topic at hand - Collectibles: What do you Collect?

I also collect fonts. I only have the basic fonts installed on this computer, but all together I believe I have close to 10,000 different fonts.

Wow, what an interesting collection. Sounds cool.

Excitable_Boy,

Ok, I have never heard of someone collecting running shoes. Congras on your collection you have there. That sounds really nice. Since you collect running shoes and your avatar is running, I’m going to make an assumption that you like to run. Am I right?

Mrmysticism,

You started young on collecting things. Interesting collecting business cards. It’s nice to see now that your collecting your sanity. LOL.

Ok now were back to the topic on > What do you collect?

I collect beer cans. They're hard to find now that people are recycling so I go to the beer store and get full ones and empty them myself.

Hey intrepid, a good friend of mine collects beer cans. I recently went on vacation and picked up some cans for him - had to poke holes in the bottom to pour the beer out - couldn't pop the tab. You should have seen the looks people gave me!

I collect beer steins myself. But not just any old stein that I come across. There has to be something worthy of the stein, like age, commemoration of a particular event and so on.

And I only collect steins with lids.....

EDIT: Spelling. Seems I can't tell the diff. between poor and pour

I love animals, so my wife has created a collection of "Stone Critters" for me. They are small stone replicas of various animals. Very colorful, lifelike and very nice. I also collect wolves of course. Just about anything to do with wolves. I don't have a real live wolf yet, but I do plan on getting one when I have a yard large enough. Probably a husky wolf mix.

I think animal collection is cool. However, live wolves could be dangerous. I don't know though. I don't know much about them. Good luck.

i wouldn't think so, at least not if you don't give them grief. i knew someone that had a wild wolf pack in the woods behind her house. she sort of earned their trust so to speak and they would allow them selves to be petted and would basically act as a house pet. though they acted more like that of a domestic cat rather than a dog as they would pounce and nibble your fingers.

though i think that wolves should be kept in a pack rather than on their own, for their sake. maybe move to a place out in the country where there is some there wild?

anyway... i like huskie dogs though, i have since i was very young.

i actually dont collect anything in particular, i used to get a magazine every 2 weeks, but that stopped

Shot glasses here. My favorite one is the one with the alien on it from Roswell, NM.

I have two alien shot glasses .... They are very tall. You fill up to the line you want and each line says something different. At the bottom is 'I don't believe in aliens'. Next comes 'I believe in aliens'. Then comes 'I have seen an alien'. At the top is 'I AM an alien'.

I have a bunch of candles so I sorta collect those, but what I do collect is old tea pots. I don't have many .. a dozen or so. But what I have is nice.

I collect guns, everytime i get to the gun show i can't leave without buying one. I'd guess that as of now i have somewhere in the neighborhood of 250+ assorted handguns, rifles, and shotguns. I really should get rid of some of them since they just sit locked up in my 10 gun safes, and i don't have ammo for most of them.

Funny pom,
I guess you can reorder your magazine if you liked it. What kind was it?

FlyersFan,

Those shot glasses you have sounds cool. Candles are beautiful they come in all fragrances sizes and shapes. You can never go wrong with candles. Tea pots also sound nice. Do you display them in your kitchen or someplace else?

AegisFang,

That’s a lot of guns you have. You are definitely a gun collector.

I collect several different things..

1. First or second edition, (or just old) books... They have to be in the original bindings..

2. Guns... I have WAY too many...

3. Old Military Memorabilia .. Knives, mess kits, lamps/lanterns, Chevrons, etc

It's really fun looking for all that stuff and takes the edge off of the day..

Flea Markets and yard sales are my particular venue..
