Wish I could find that story. Boats don't drift next to each other for
months. They drift miles apart in just a few days usually. Also,
what size boats? Family members of the crew must have reported
them missing long before now. Wonder why UFO/Aliens are being
suspected in this missing persons incident? So many questions...
Will research some more for this story and keep peeking back at this
thread to see what anyone else finds.
EDIT: Are we sure that the FOX news story is describing the same
incident on which this thread is based? It's not two boats, just one.
Also, the one in the Fox story had only been at sea 5 days before
the men were found missing. No mention of a UFO connection
either...just 3 mysterious disappearances. Happens all the time
on land and at sea.

Were in not for the dinghy (life raft?) missing, I would lean in the
abduction direction too, SemperFi221. BTW, if you're a U.S. Marine,
accept my respect and thank-you.

This has been covered already in the news forum, and there's no evidence or reports of any alien or UFO activity related to this story whatsoever.
Is it really helpful to just take any story, add "maybe the aliens did it! " to the end, and post it in the Aliens & UFOs forum?

The abduction theory definately would be something amazing. But Im leaning more towards piracy. The entire region of Oceania has had a humongous surge
of pirates over the past couple years. I don't know that's just my humble opinion I know it doesn't mean much.

Ok, so a second boat has been found as mentioned above.
ANOTHER ghost boat has been found floating off the coast of Queensland. The six-metre barnacle-encrusted fibreglass boat, which was yesterday
spotted in waters off the Sunshine Coast, is the second mystery vessel to be found in Queensland waters in less than a week.
Here a link to the story: LINK

I was thinking about it being a case of piracy too. But don't pirates usually take stuff? There was a laptop computer, radio equipment,
navigational equipment, all left on the boat. There are other possibilities. But the table set with a dinner is kind of baffling.

Ya that is true they do usually take stuff. But what if they were carrying something more important than the traditional material goods, could be
weapons or information or anything really. I'm sure we will find out more in the couple days, and if this was some sort of black-ops operation we
will never find out the truth or what other cargo was being transported on the boat.

Ok I live in Australia,
The first boat, was a reasonably mid sized catermaran, the crew have been missing for about a week (reported by family members) as such, the reports
of set tables for dinner were crap (just to suck you in to watching), also the 3 onboard were middle age fishing friends. As for pirates, the closest
we have are Indonesian, firstly the currents were all wrong, and secondly, they shoot the crews and take the boat.
The second boat was a small 1/2 cabin cruiser run-about, very small and no good for ocean going in the middle of no-where, it received the big
networks attention as it was found within a week of the first, albeit upside down and covered with barnacles
The second boat was apparently registered to somebody in Mauritious, and evidence suggests it had broke mooring and floated off.
Lots of things get washed up and around, a classic example is about 3 or so years ago a crate containing Russian land mines turned up on a Sydney
beach....the mines were brand new.

It could have been almost anything. Pirates, murder/suicide, a predinner swim interrupted by passing great white sharks, etc., etc., etc....
As said, things like this really aren't that uncommon. No reason to bring Aliens into this at all at this point.
