Deep is right.

There is nothing mysterious about these boats.

My theory on the Catermeran is that one of the fisherman got washed over, and the other 2 attempted to save him, this resulting in the untouched boat with computers still on etc etc.

The second one could be anything, all we know is that it is a boat that has been drifting for at least a month.

Nothing supernatural about it guys, really.

Well it is near where all of our UFOs take off from.

I got to the great barrier reef every year for a holiday. A few days ago we stayed on a boat like the one in the story....

Although I don't beleive that it was an abduction, none the less, it is still weird.

Maybe it's a seabound serial killer. Serial killers tend not to steal from their victims.

I agree completely. I would have to say the main culprit would be pirates, or very dumb captain who dindn't drop the anchor when they went swimming. Anything turn up missing besides the people?

It's like the movie Cocoon. They we're gonna eat dinner but the ship came early. No need for them taking anything with them, so that's why it was left behind.
No really, it could be anything. I don't believe they were abducted by aliens. I'm more on the side of somebody came along side and forced them onto their boat or a shark attack, where one was attacked and the others tried to save him and was attacked to.
Or just maybe they wanted to disappear and not be found. Hopefully we will all find out the truth in a few days or so.

Pirates. There are still many pirates out in the waters. Not the Johnny Depp kind ... but the modern criminal kind. They rob boats and kidnap people.

My thought is a flash storm or whirlpool, all were trying to steady ship and got washed over board, i believe in Aliens, but there is totally no evidence of their involvement in either of these cases.

How did the sail get shredded? I've handled modern sails, they aren't flimsy and take some serious violence to destroy. The story says food and utensils were set on the table and a laptop was booted and running.

Consider that. How did a sail get reduced to tatters, yet the food on the table is still sitting there?

I don't see anything in the stories about the character of those who disappeared. Drug deal gone wrong? If they were on a drug run the family would probably lie or may not know?

Insurance scam. The family may be in on it feigning worry. The more I read about it the more it sounds staged.

As to the life boat - The first report I saw clearly said it was missing. Somebody is misreporting something.

It would be interesting to know who found it and how it was reported. Whoever found it could be in on it. Drop off the crew somewhere, go back and call in a deserted boat?

UFO abduction? Wild speculation at best. But then; who knows? They have got to probe somebody's you know what I guess?

Publicity stunt for yet another movie or reality show? In a few days they show up on an island with a fantastic story.

Rogue Wave spun the boat completely over and the centrifugal force kept everything in place while the sails got tore up?

George Bush had them abducted to use in MKULTRA experiments. Cheney's idea. The Aussie's are in on it and the story is a cover.

The Iranians abducted them. The footage of their beheading will be aired in a week or two.

Might be pirates, but wouldn't the scout plane have seen the bandits? If it took 2 days to get there by boat, they must have been real far out, so the plane would have had a birds eye view of the whole area

Is north Queensland popular for UFO's? They do need alot of water you know.

One of my workmates talked about this piece of news today. She's a normal wife with 3 kids in her 40s, about as average as Joe Citizen can get. She believes they were abducted by a UFO. She said it plain as day, without fear of ridicule. I was kinda calm in response too, the whole thing was very matter-of-fact. This is what's going on now - no one in the media has mentioned a UFO angle on the story, but people in general are now thinking along those lines - and what's more - they are not afraid to say it. I'm sure if she had said that even a couple of years ago, most people would look at her as if she's crazy. Right now, it's certainly becoming a different world.
