I looked at your camera at www.kodak.com...

5 MP should be your default

Your largest picture should be 2576 × 1932

5.0 MP—(2576 × 1932)

Your camera is user friendly, it shouldn't be hard to set the picture quality.
Changing picture-taking settings
You can change settings to get the best results from your camera:
1Turn the Mode dial to the desired mode.
2Press the Menu button. (Some settings are unavailable in some modes.)
3Move the Joystick to highlight a setting, then press the OK button.
4Choose an option, then press the OK button.
5Press the Menu button to exit.

Maybe you accidently put it on a low setting.

When you are blowing up the picture here in this thread, it does no good for quality.

The one picture with the "head" in it reminds me of the kid that played in the System Of A Down video for "Aerials". Other than that, i haven't seen anything like it before.

Here's a link to the video if anybody hasn't seen it

They look like someones torn a hole in the sky lol

But if you say it was morphing into different shapes, it makes me think it's a balloon.

it could be a ballon but why would it stay stationery and it must of been a huge ballon

I've never seen anything like that. The closest would be the morphing UFO video I saw on "Sightings" a couple or so years back that seem to have some kind of rotating field around it. This object you have seems to move and extend in different directions. Fascinating to say the least. I seriously doubt it's a hologram and I don't believe it's a balloon. I do believe it's an artifically created object but by whom? Thanks for the excellent images, Cyrax. These are keepers.

Great pics

In the second picture you listed, 100_2233, it appears there is another anomaly a short distance above the intended target.

Is this a camera defect or possibly something else?

Those pictures didn't impress me much, but the fact that the other guys pics look pretty similiar has me interested. Where abouts in Sydney btw? I'm in sydney too.

Interesting pics but the fact that there are no clouds or anything else in the background make it impossible to gain any perspective or guage size.
This could quite easily be a large deflating helium balloon at height.

Neat picture.

However, please note that it is obviously a high altitude plastic bag. They seem to be everywhere these days.

Hey radardog, I've never heard of a high altitude plastic bag. Are they different from the ones you get in the supermarket?

CYRAX, I think your pics are great. Never seen anything like it. To me it looks like a solid object, but no idea what is could possibly be.
