I'm just wondering where you've come up with the hypothesis that these guys consider themselves "Illuminati". They are not spiritual, nor are they "enlightened". They themselves believe they ARE enlightened. Enlightened to a different god...the god of money and greed. You are taking the word too literally. They believe they are the "Illuminated Ones." The smart ones, the ones that figured it out, the ones that have the power and money to control the world. This is what being "illuminated" means to these people.

Illuminati doesn't have to be the name of a spiritual group or a group that is TRULY enlightened.
