The English some of the biggest immigrants that ever lived. Look how many countries we have eaten up under our empire. Look how many cultures we have changed by the sword/gun. Look at how we have used the geography of other countries to suit our ends. Look at how many backs we have stood on to make our country great.

Now the immigrants come to us. The circle is complete! (karma)

I will emigrate from the UK one day. The only things I like about it is 1. London, 2. The countryside and 3. The Millitary.

Hate the people, hate the attitudes, hate the social problems we have.

If i ever get into the financial position to do so i will as well, for the last 20 years at least this country has seemed to been on a non stop decline.

No matter how much Money I have. I will never immigrate from the UK.

I for one love my country. I just do not like the way it is going. Mulicultural Society right, what a joke. Call me ignorant if you want.) But it is the way I feel.

Influx of immigrants from others countries is not just our problem. Other countries around the World have the exact same problems that we have here in the UK. Bet alot of the population in those countries where Immigrants come from would feel the exact same way if thousands of British folks immigrated to their countries.

Also remember right, the UK went through the exact same thing in the 80's, when the IRA was bombing cities in England. We are tough, takes alot for us to run scared from anyone. Just my opinion. .

Dunno where this idea of falling apart comes from...

And i dont see how our 'vast' immigrant population is swamping the native culture. If anything its damn fools swallowing yankee crap wholesale!

Remember remember the 5th of Novemeber? Nope cos its Halloween five days earlier and all the kids do that instead.

Dont blame immigants, blame ourselves.

Thats a really lame comment. Seeing how Halloween was started in the British Isles ages before Guy Falkes day. Halloween is more British than the latter. And older.

I have to agree, the country does seem to be going down the pan. There are a lot of anti-social problems especially with youngsters and immigrants going around getting drunk, mugging people and smashing things up.

The immigration policies are a joke, fair enough let a limited amount of foreigners in, but there are a lot of UK places you can visit now where there are no white people. I have nothing against other races in their own countries, but this shows the extent of immigration in the UK!

And then you hear stories of immigrants burning the English flag in the streets!? So these people were happy enough to come to our country and live off our taxes, but this is how they show their gratitude? I'm not saying all immigrants are like that but because the police don't do anything about it, more and more people will realise that they can get away with anything!

And I recognise that British history is based on immigrants e.g German descendants, but those immigrants made the country good. Now the country seems to be going downhill...

i dont see how the country is going "down the pan".

i think its a typical agruement by the right that the UK is being crippled and ruined by immigration. immigration is worth £8 billion to the UK economy and they are doing the jobs that me and you refuse to do. no problem there.

the whole is hyped so much by the press that its getting pathetic now.

I didn't mean that immigration was sending in down the pan specifically. More the anti-social behaviour which isn't addressed enough by the authorities. The fact that you cant walk the streets at night without being threatened by some 13 year old chav with a flick knife for lookin at 'im. That's not the sort of environment i'd like to live in or bring kids up in.

I visited a few different German cities this summer and I have to say I was greatly impressed. Everything seemed to be so much more clean, organised and friendly than other European cities especially British ones, and the comparison only reinforced my views on this topic.

Going down the pan? Worse than 20 years ago? I think not. We are wealthier and healthier. We are living longer, our air, rivers and coastal waters are cleaner, we are better educated, the economy is stronger ( and is still doing rather well) and unemployment is low. Yes, the government has shown complete administrative incompetence on the issue of failed asylum seekers and regulating immigration. But I have no problem with the Eastern Europeans who seem on the whole to be young, friendly and very hard working and who are likely to go home as soon as they have made some cash and when the economies of their own countries have developed, as they will (look at Ireland). After all, who wants to live in a country that's falling apart? There's a small graveyard in a country church not far from where I live. There is a line of about eight RAF gravestones in one corner, each on carrying the name of a Polish airman who died serving in The RAF during the war. Those who object to their presence probably also object to the 'Nanny State' and 'Over Government' by 'Socialists' like Blair. They should remember that if the beloved free market didn't need their skills and labour, they wouldn't be here. As for chunks of the indigenous population living on handouts, all I can say is that the person who posted that obviously hasn't experienced the luxury of our welfare state recently. We are and always will be a nation whose glass is half empty. But i just don't recognise the description of my country some of you have posted here. Lads, you need to get out more (and perhaps stop reading The Daily Mail?)

The uk is a fantastic country to live in. We have a thriving multicultural society
from all walks of life that don't all want to kill us. We have easily some of the greatest
music in the world in all forms. Not to mention one of the best FREE healthcare systems
in the world, that gets knocked for all the wrong reasons(no money mostly). The
standard of living is vastly superior to most countries. I could go on....

It seems to me that we take far too much stock in what the media tells us, just because they say things are bad doesn't make it so. Its about how you live your life and enjoy
the benefits that entail it. Remember, murders, terrorists, illegal immigrants are
everywhere in the world, and its been happening since the start of time. Its not just exclusive to the uk neither.

I love living here(besides the weather!) And i wouldn't live anywhere else in the world.

this country is deffo not fantastic im gonna be jumping ship ASAP. the health system is great if you can afford it or if you have freinds in the health service in high places. i see alot of the media coverage but i dont need that as i can see the problems from my own doorstep. i blame uncapped migration and immigration and the government obviously.

I think the greatest problem we face is racism and its little brother xenophobia.

More should be done to integrate immigrants into British culture. We should have state sponsored Islamic schools that teach a curriculum that they find acceptable in a manner which is acceptable to us.

The 'Ghetto communities which predominantly house minorities should be broken up.

Yeah, they're all coming over to steal our wimmin' and torch our villages. I suppose it doesn't even factor into the equation that what I earn in a day is what some of them would earn in a year in their native lands.

Immigration is the adrenaline shot for an economy in which the native population will not do the menial jobs.

If you work, if you pay taxes and if you make an effort to integrate into our society then you're a fellow citizen. It's as simple as that.

It's about control, once groups are folded into the larger body then they become a part of it, when they are neglected they move outside, they become fringe elements and thats where the problems begin.

The health service is free to anyone paying taxes.
Its just a typical knee jerk reaction to being unhappy and blaming society for your own problems. And if thats the case leave then.

England's and to a larger extent, Europe's problem can be stated in one word: Socialism. Socialism punishes productive behavior (via high taxes) and rewards unproductive behavior (via lavish social welfare programs) That's why the EU economy is so moribund

I don't know about the UK, but the liberals and corporate hookers(politicians) here in the US have been spouting that old line about how the illegals do all the work 'we won't do' and how they are such a 'boon to the economy'. That's what I find pathetic is that they still find people that actually believe that nonsense. I wonder how I wonder how we ever built this great country of ours before the illegals came in and saved us from all this manual labor.....

I feel your pain brits, we yanks here are seeing our country go to the crapper for a multitude of reasons but even I have the good sense to say that it is not all just because of immigration. Short of active revolt, there is no solution but ride the wave and hope for the best.

Skadi, while your right that Halloween is an ancient Pagan from England tradition etc it is only rather recently that it has become normal where i live for kids to go trick or treating and all the other crap associated with Halloween.

Instead we looked foreward to Guy Fawkes Night, which is far more culturally English, cherily burning a Catholic traitor in effigy up and down the nation.

As opposed to Halloween which is rampant capitalism, mask and sweet buying and imported from the USA on the back of crappy cartoon series and the gradual Americanisation of our culture.

The UK isnt in decline its changing, as all countries do to survive.
