well since you mention it there is this ad comming up on the right top corner hanging down in the window that suggest you to click it to find where you mate is by tracking his mobile phone.B*****T.
All it does is ask you his number then yours and then you get conned into an 8 € monthly fee without knowing.
It happened to a friend of mine that is not as good with scams.
Besides the fee he was also charged a lot of Euros for incomming messages by them!!!

Do you want the rest of the story?
Well i am quite good with computers and also usin the SYSTEM for and not against me. Guess what. It was awfully hard to get him unsubscribed. These f****g cons make it awfully hard to achieve that by hiding the links and improper descriptions...

Want even more?
When i got to the poin to get him saved he had to pay for incoming messages that contained his log in ........ password.

Do your self a favour. Do not allow to be associated in any way with these scambags. Its not bad for your members and certainly not for your reputation.

Fairwell!

Ohh. By the way, the ad tittle is SPY MIG , track your friends trough GPS!!!!
(in Greek...)

I find the Mirrors ad SO disturbing that I don't want to click on any more threads or load any pages. Each time I do, the same ads show both at the top and side of the pages. There are some things I just don't want in my brain, thank you. I have to close my eyes for a few seconds as each page loads so I don't have to see it. If the ad continues to run here, I might have to take a break from ATS.
Images just stick like super glue in my brain.

I'm shocked and disgusted as well by this MIRRORS ad and yes, it is far more graphic and dusturbing then the previous one.

Come on. Is this really necessary? I think there are now and have been enough complaints in the past to justify removing this ad.

Poor taste IMO.

The campaign just recently began (late yesterday), and the banner contains several redirects between a couple different ad server companies, and was difficult to track down the originating source.

We've identified the provider and have negated all versions of the ads from our rotation... as well as notified them that the creative is inappropriate. It takes anywhere from 1-2 hours for these changes to take effect.

Whenever possible, we work with our ad providers to ensure certain types of ads do not appear on ATS (sexual, gore, etc.), but not all ad providers have predefined categories that enable us to do this.

However, we have a history of being proactive in removing ads that are inappropriate, and I had hoped our members would have remembered that, and not have jumped to incorrect conclusions that cast aspersions.

And it is appreciated that you are giving this particular ad the attention needed to have it resolved. Thank you.

Being that this particular movie ad created such negative attention the last time it ran I just felt that maybe it should have been noted the possibility that it would have been more of the same...if not worse.

At first I didn't understand the hoopla, because on my pc I can't see the side bars, or whatever they are called. The avatars are to the far left and the posts go the far right.

On the lap top I can see the side bars and the offending ads. It must have to do with the setting on each.

Now that I have seen the ads I have to agree, not nice at all. I don't do horror movies to begin with so appreciate that action was taken.

Thank you SO for removing the offensive AD. I understand that it took some time and that it was difficult to track down but I still think that it took too long.

I'm sorry if I appear to be driving this home but I can't understand why others within your business do not have more access to your website in case something like this happens. What if this media advertising decides to add an Ad for a porn site??? If its a holiday what happens if your not around?

This should be given some thought don't you think?

If you look at the comments in this threadSO, which I'm sure you have, you will see people being INFLUENCED by the GORE and MUTILATION that was being constantly flashed at us.

The comments from your STAFF were unacceptable I believe given the wording in that thread. It does state that gore and mutilation pics may result in IMMEDIATE membership cancellation, yet I received the following......

Did you or did you not get an almost IMMEDIATE acknowledgement from the Mods. (Me) How can we do more that that?

I expect much more when it comes to EXPLICIT and EXTREMELY GRAPHIC MURDER scenes being flashed me and other members of the board.

Most of us don't even notice which banner ads comes and goes, but I can assure you that SO knows and makes sure that there's a quality control. The ad may be gone in a day or two... we'll never know.

An eight hour shift would be too much for this AD to make it through let alone a DAY or TWO....

We use the particular ad companies (or whatever they're called) because their ads don't conflict with our T&C. If an ad pops up that conflicts with our T&C, they are likely to be kicked from our "accepted" list.

They DO conflict with the T&C and it should have been obvious when it was first mentioned in August I believe... maybe earlier if you were advised earlier by U2U.

That's a very accusatory tone? Tell me is the ad really your issue, or is there an underlying issue?

Accusatory tone? Is this not accusatory also? Does this not constitute something that should be addressed immediately???? LIKE in the threads OP.

Yes, the ad upsets a couple of folks. Yes, the ad isn't what we want on ATS. Yes, the ad is against the T&C. But surely one ad isn't the downfall of ATS? If each and every ad were blood, gore, porn and what not, I can see how people would not want to visit ATS anymore. BUT it isn't. One distasteful ad made its appearance. It will be taken care of in good time. Surely you can't expect someone to sit and watch the screen for "bad ads" 24/7? If distasteful ads were a constant problem, I would agree. But it isn't.

More than a couple and you know stats right? How do Statistics work to figure out if 200 people are on a website and five mention something what that would work out to be for a populous?...

I truly believe that this will occur again and again until 24/7 access is given to remove occurrences like this.... Even as a private in the military I was given more control than that...

Just my 2cents SO. Hopefully you don't take it as having an ATTITUDE against you.

I think you should put somthing like this in the NWO board and anything that can be linked to a masonic symbol should be taken off.

The new (I think) American Airlines ad seems to freeze my browser up pretty good each time it opens. I don't know if anyone else is having this issue, but if they are you may want to look into it.

I am experiencing redirects from ATS to various search sites. This is not spyware on my pc, it only happens while on ATS.

Whitepages, yellowpages, myshovel... etc.., and a search automatically comes up for stupid things like shoes or lumber dealers.

Just thought you should know that one of your ads is sending people away from your site. Not a popup, a redirect from ATS to another site.

Why is this thread still active?
It doesn't matter what ads are annoying because even if they are taken down there will be other more annoying ads that will take their place.

What a vicious cycle.

But since you asked, i vote to get rid of the pasty white and flabby tummy fat ads

The ad is for a movie called 'The Uninvited' and yes, I agree it is annoying. The ad drops down when you hover your mouse over it even accidentally and covers up all of the navigation bars. I've been meaning to post about this ad for a few days now.

The movie looks ok, but the ad is just plain annoying.

I agree also, it blocks the top half of the screen and you have to close it(click x in top right) to get rid of it... rather annoying.

Was coming here to post about The Uninvited ad banner at the top of the page. Looks like others are experiencing the same problem. Sometimes simply moving my cursor away from the banner changes the ad back to normal, other times I have to refresh the page. Not the end of the world but certainly annoying when the button I was going for - but, missed by a pixel or two - gets covered up by the ad.
