And here it comes ....... wait for it ........

BIDEN: "It's my intention that the federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge and I expect the Congress to support my effort."

So why shouldn't the ship owner's insurance pay right away???????? HMMMMMMM

It's being described as a "Black Swan" event. Not sure why though.

"Black Swan" event: a major event that would be difficult to predict, but, in hindsight, appears inevitable.

However, I would posit that "difficult to predict" only applies if one excludes active intervention.

Thank-you. Personally, I'm amazed we don't have more large-scale events affecting the public. The safety of the aviation industry is unbelievably outstanding, considering all the plane movements and complexity of the aircraft, combined with humans running everything...24/7.

Biden should treat this like it was a Trump ship, and DJT himself was at the helm.

Do you really think they will cave in and pay up straightaway?

Years of litigation would be my guess.

Litigation would take years. Maybe even over a decade. When the 35W Bridge collapsed in 2007, Congress unanimously approved the funds for its replacement. Because of how quickly Congress moved, the new bridge was opened within a year.

What has it got to do with politics WeMustCare?

It's a tragic accident by the looks of things.

Whether or not it could have been preventable is the pertinent issue.

Well that and finding out what happened to the missing people and if they are ok.

I have to agree Andy not everything that happens in life is a conspiracy.
Although I also agree many many things are.

As I pointed out earlier marine ownership can be hard to determine which shelf company holds the insurance.

In the middle of the night?

You would think if indeed this was a planned attack.

They would have timed the event somewhat better to cause maximum casualties.

Just a thought.

That assumes that casualties was the intention.

Stop what? Pointing out that insurance companies are soulless and will do everything in their power to avoid paying out claims?

Human casualties were NOT the Target. 😊

I'm sorry? Why should I "stop it"?

You live in the most litigious country in the World.

I'm a litigation lawyer over here and I can tell you that insurance companies ain't known for being soft touches.

Their will be a protracted investigation into what happened before any claim even gets off the ground.

You think rebuilding should wait for all that?

If Biden did nothing, you'd be the first to have a go at him.
