accomplishing the switchover (ICE to EV) by 2032 is doable if done wisely...

All size cities to be EV/LSV by 2030 within city limits
towns & agriculture communities 75% EV by 2030

ICE vehicles under strict supervision, restraints....

it can be done

Yeah , the Key Word there is " Wisely " . Not a Snowballs Chance in Hell that Happens . Maybe in 100 Years Personal Transportation will have New Energy Sources that can Generate Electricity more Cheaply and be Cost Effective but we All will be Dead by then .....

Like I said, the charger port thing should be figured out by now if not most of not manufacturers have adapters free of charge to new owners.

And our power grid is already due for a do-over so this would help kick start that as we all know the gubment doesn't fix crap till it's kinda.....super broken.

EV sales were down the 2nd half of 2023 in the US and I believe, Germany. These vehicles haven't sold enough NOR been around long enough on a large scale to be proven. They're too new, the too few and far between charging stations have a malfunction rate 20% of the time forcing people to wait in long lines or look for other locations.

Many problems are just now or will be arising. Such as the weight of these vehicles are 2-5 times the weight of current vehicles on the road which will compound issues and quality of roads, increasing prices to repair and maintain. As mentioned earlier, batteries are unrecyclable and will be filling landfills when disposed of. Talk about a toxic environment. The price of the vehicles even with incentives is at the high end of the spectrum, currently about $55k. Even with a full on credit of $7,500 which many can't qualify for, it's over $45k plus the rising interest rates, many people can't afford that.

Add in the major factor of not being able to charge your new expensive toy and current issues of malfunctions/issues both with batteries and the vehicles, it's a no-go for many people. TPTB need to read the room.

Oh, you mean like building more dams and opening more coal mines, pumping more oil to supply the huge demands all those EV's are going to create?

People are truly clueless.

As the number of EVs on the road increases, annual demand for electricity to charge them would surge from 11 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) now to 230 billion kWh in 2030
if their goals are met. Where do people think electricity comes from again????? And uh, what's the real gain here?

Report: Joe Biden Pumping Brakes on Electric Vehicle Mandates Before 2024 Election

In a concession to automakers and labor unions, the Biden administration intends to relax elements of one of its most ambitious strategies to combat climate change, limits on tailpipe emissions that are designed to get Americans to switch from gas-powered cars to electric vehicles, according to three people familiar with the plan. [Emphasis added]

Instead of essentially requiring automakers to rapidly ramp up sales of electric vehicles over the next few years, the administration would give car manufacturers more time, with a sharp increase in sales not required until after 2030, these people said. They asked to remain anonymous because the regulation has not been finalized. The administration plans to publish the final rule by early spring.

i keep on saying and think vehicle manufacturers will start to push hydrogen more and more as they see ev's sale slow.

The first hydrogen-powered vehicle—GM’s Electrovan prototype—debuted in 1966.

Fast-forward nearly 60 years, and fuel-cell electric vehicles, or FCEVs, still aren’t mainstream. But if some big bets within the auto industry pay off, we’ll see hydrogen-powered trucks cruising down highways alongside their battery-powered cousins as fossil fuel–guzzling ICE vehicles someday go the way of the dodo.

GM and Honda recently moved in that direction, beginning commercial production of hydrogen fuel-cell systems at a plant outside of Detroit. The 50-50 joint venture started in 2017, supported by an $85 million investment by the automakers.

Why the auto industry still believes in hydrogen fuel-cell tech despite slow progress

ICE (internal combustion engine) hydrogen powered vehicles are the better choice all the way around and the technology will advance as time goes on.

from 2021,

A report published by Arthur D. Little in 2016 provided an analysis of costs over a 20-year lifetime of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) compared to ICE vehicles. They proposed that for compact ICE versus compact BEV, the BEV had an overall cost that was 44% higher than the ICE vehicle. They also proposed an even larger increase in price of 60% for a mid-size BEV compared to a mid-size ICE vehicle. This total cost analysis not only includes operational costs incurred by the consumer, but also the manufacturing and disposal costs at the end of the vehicle’s lifetime.

The results are highlighted in Figure 1.

Although this seems like a large difference, a more recent assessment provided by Car and Driver magazine showed a decrease in the price difference, with EVs still slightly more expensive. They compared two small ICE vehicles with their EV equivalents, namely the Hyundai Kona and the Mini Hardtop/Mini Electric. For the Mini, the ICE version was calculated to be only around $350 cheaper, however, the ICE version of the Kona was cheaper by almost $8,000. In this study, they accounted for factors such as maintenance, energy usage, gas or charging costs, and depreciation, but they used many price averages and disregarded additional factors like financing and insurance premiums. They also applied a government tax credit for using the electric vehicles, but admitted that this incentive may not apply for every EV.

The money from the pushers of electric cars is big and with deep pockets that since the Obama era has been pumping democrats with donations to enforce commerce on Americans.

During obama it failed miserably, now they got a senile president to make it work.

Is not about how crappy the cars are, how unsustainable and unreliable, they do not care about how many people can die with these vehicles is about the sales and the profits.

They will get away because democrats have no morals and do not care about the working class, just like big pharma and their killer covid scam, is not about who survive, or no is about the profits.

This the America of today, those that have the deepest pocket and can feed the corrupted democrats get first choice.

the electrical grid cannot handle the load currently and it's impossible to update the grid enough to be able to handle the load by 2030. The people making the mandates have no idea what they're getting themselves into.

Seems like a pretty stupid thing to say....
But ya hey lets not move forward with technological innovation.
Hell, even a universal EV charging port was a game changer.
These inventive ways of harnessing power is very good for humanity. And sometimes a few eggs have to be broken.
Don't be a snowflake and get with it or get out of the way.

What is INNOVATIVE about it? Please explain in detail.

Cobalt causes cancer and birth defects.

EV charging ports need.......ELECTRICITY to charge the batteries. They've simply ADDED a new layer. Oil, gas, coal and dams will still be necessary to generate electricity. In fact, even more will be needed to generate the higher demand for electricity.

There is absolutely NOTHING good about EVs. NOT O.N.E. thing.

Eggs huh? Like the thousands of children whipped and forced into slave labor for 80 cents a day or less? Many unfed throughout the day, the lucky ones get one small meal.

Like children denied the ability to go to school because their families are desperate for every penny AAAANNNNDDDD the government increased the cost of schooling to make it pretty much unaffordable for many people.

Like birth defects to many new babies? And cancers and disease to their mothers?

Here are some broken 'eggs' for you.

EVs Release More Toxic Emissions Than Gas Cars

Electric vehicles release more toxic particles into the atmosphere and are worse for the environment than their gas-powered counterparts, according to a resurfaced study.

It found that brakes and tires on EVs release 1,850 times more particle pollution compared to modern tailpipes, which have “efficient” exhaust filters, bringing gas-powered vehicles’ emissions to new lows.

Today, most vehicle-related pollution comes from tire wear. As heavy cars drive on light-duty tires — most often made with synthetic rubber made from crude oil and other fillers and additives — they deteriorate and release harmful chemicals into the air, according to Emission Analytics.

Because EVs are on average 30% heavier, brakes and tires on the battery-powered cars wear out faster than on standard cars.

Emission Analytics found that tire wear emissions on half a metric tonne of battery weight in an EV are more than 400 times as great as direct exhaust particulate emissions.

And some more information on pollution and environmental hazards of EVs -

Almost 4 tonnes of CO2 are released during the production process of a single electric car and, in order to break even, the vehicle must be used for at least 8 years to offset the initial emissions by 0.5 tonens of prevented emissions annually.

Environmental Impact of Battery Production for EVs

In India, batteries contain some combination of lithium, cobalt, and nickel. Currently, India does not have enough lithium reserves to produce batteries and it thereby relies on importing lithium-ion batteries from China.

Mining these materials, however, has a high environmental cost, a factor that inevitably makes the EV manufacturing process more energy intensive than that of an ICE vehicle. The environmental impact of battery production comes from the toxic fumes released during the mining process and the water-intensive nature of the activity. In 2016, hundreds of protestors threw dead fish plucked from the waters of the Liqui river onto the streets of Tagong, Tibet, publicly denouncing the Ganzizhou Ronga Lithium mine’s unethical practice of polluting the local ecosystem through toxic chemical leaks. Similarly, the production of lithium was halted in China’s Yichun city after an investigation into the water quality of the Jin river, the main source of residential water, revealed the presence of toxic pollutants.

That was a short quote. More information on the pollution and environmental impact at the link.
