Houthi ballistic missile strikes US-owned and operated cargo ship, US Central Command says

A Houthi anti-ship ballistic missile struck a US-owned and operated cargo ship on Monday, US Central Command said in a statement.

The attack against the Gibraltar Eagle appears to be the first time the Houthis have successfully struck a US-owned or operated ship, raising the stakes in the Red Sea after the US vowed that further Houthi launches would be met with a response.

It came just days after a US-led coalition carried out strikes against the Iranian-backed rebel group in Yemen and warned more strikes were possible if the Houthi attacks continue.

CNN

I guess the Houthis and Iran were not impressed by US warnings that more strikes were possible if the Houthi attacks continued.

HOUTHI were terrorists, until President Biden said they are NOT terrorists.

Does this mean the Biden administration sees them as potential friends?

The Biden administration has had a contradictory and wishy washy foreign policy. It's likely US adversaries do not know how to fully interpret Biden's policies and his willingness to stick with a plan; that leaves them in the dangerous position to find the boundaries themselves. How far can they push Joe Biden?

Iran's proxy has been firing missiles at U.S. assets, and injuring Americans since October 17, 2023.

But we are only now retaliating against the missile sites and storage facilities!

Horribly embarrassing U.S. Leadership! 😡

Perfectly stated and 100% accurate, unfortunately.

It's going to be interesting to see what Iran's Allies say about this....

Which...Obama or Biden?

Go fishing elsewhere you're not getting a bite here.

Also stop thinking this just effects America, UK also fired on Yemen, you are so blinded by your hatred instead of helpful input you attempt to mock. Grow up!

Thanks for biting.

NONE of this action would've even been necessary if Biden hadn't been such a weak and incompetent fool...emboldening our enemies!

Remember...in February, 2021, it was Joe Biden who took the Houthis OFF Trump's US 'terrorist' designation list...in order to snuggle back up with Iran.
It was one of the very first actions Joe Biden's administration took in office.

Obama said it best:
"Don't underestimate Joe Biden's ability to F- things up."

...AND...let's not forget Obama's Def. Sec, Robert Gates on Joe Biden:
"I think he [Biden] has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades”

Not biting on bi-partisan politics of another country, US politics shape the whole world and it's more interesting than UK politics (mostly), Biden is the Commander in Chief at present so this falls at his feet.
