It was never either countries tanker...its about the oil on board. The US siezed the tanker because it had Iran's oil and they just siezed it because its US oil.

From your link it does not seem to be a US tanker.

Yup, can't see any mrention of it being a US tanker, its going from Iraw to Turkey

It appears to be Greek any flying the Marshall Islands flag (I think this is done to dodge taxes).

Hopefully US and UK special forces can restore order very soon.

Am I reading this right? If I am, Is stealing a tanker back, that was originating stolen from you - really stealing?

Iran obviously feels it's justified to take back anything it wants. It's not like it's worried about Biden doing anything to stop it.

Maybe a planned State Dept "give back" program? 😃

The oil was en route to Turkey. Not the US.

I think the registration it's more to do with employment laws for the sailors, however taxes may be a part as well.

Biden doesn't take aggressive action and he's weak and indecisive.
Biden takes aggressive action and he's a warmonger.

Seems some people are more intent on making it about Biden than they are about the people actually carrying out these acts of piracy and terrorism.

For the record; I think Biden is an awful President, possibly the worst I've known in my lifetime and that's saying something considering some of those who have preceded him.

Biden takes aggressive action and he's a warmonger.

I don’t recall ever seeing anybody accuse him of that.

These events do actually have everything to do with Biden being the weakest president ever on foreign policy. When China takes Taiwan this year he’ll def be the undisputed champ of making America a joke once again.
Even worse than Barry, and that’s no small feat of ineffectiveness.
Most of them wouldn’t have even happened if he wasn’t ‘in charge’.

You not read any Ukraine threads?

I also seem to recall he was criticised here on ATS when he took an aggressive stance with China over Taiwan - could be wrong about that though.

Ooops....quoted wrong part of post, apologies.
Corrected.

Biden has spent his entire career bullying and dismantling eastern Europe, he was the bad guy behind almost every destructive disaster in Yugoslavia. It's no mystery as to why he has close ties to Ukraine. He's of the old stock that was fixated on destabilizing Russia and breaking it up.

Don't be fooled by his aging mind, and babbling gaffs.

HAHAHAHA Good.

Sorry, but that's how I feel about sanctions - they're for children. If we're going to seize their oil, we can expect them to seize ours.

They can. The question is will they be allowed to?

My bet is on no.

Biden has been in political office for so long it's no surprise some of his past actions would eventually come back to him.

Much like iran using weapons against us that we sold to them when they were "friends".

Why would the US do anything? It's not our government property...

Why is the US spending all this money protecting shipping lanes when there are alternatives?

It's all a big show because the rich are losing some money.

I'm not sure why anyone here thinks the US should respond to every action around the globe...the US can't feed it's kids or provide adequate health care to it's citizens, but sure, Biden or Trump should be throwing our money down the toilet protecting the profits of corporations. But yeah, it's Biden's fault...mmmhmm, like the orange man would do anything different.

I would love the world to see the results of the US not protecting international shipping lanes for just one year.
