It's out in the open now. The federal government is meeting to decide on granting the "too-big-to-fail" label to private businesses. This is how Communism works. These businesses will never go bankrupt no matter how corrupt or inept thier executives become. No matter how worthless their products or services become. Taxpayer money will be shoveled into them by the billions and trillions of dollars. You and your family will become indebted and impoverished to Communist overlords who live like nobility growing rich off of your pain and suffering.

This is right out in the opne - the United States is abandoning capitalism and embracing the failed Soviet model of economics.

discussion on reddit

For years i've seen people say we have socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor, when it comes to "too-big-to-fail" banks. Which I would argue is accurate. I like to call it neofeudalism because these elites don't work hard for their money they are born into wealth and have access to billions of dollars whenever they want for whatever reason they want, and live according to a whole different set of laws and expectations than the rest of us do. Basically there is no equal rights. There is no even playing field. This is feudalism and we have noble lords who are parasites and suck out tthe lifeblood of the economy which the poors slave away their entire lives to support them.

But until now, it's just been central banks under direct supervision of the Federal Reserve who could earn the label. Now it's going to be any business owner who is in fear of losing their billions of ill-gotten gains. Private businesses. Possibly even non-financial sector businesses. This is slippery slope in action it's not a fallacy it's a fundamental truth. More and more elites are going to want the "too-big-to-fail" label in order to protect their wealth and the poors are going to be crushed under heel to protect that wealth with their taxes.

Welcome to the Communist States of America.

This caper has been going for years in the UK too,the last 13 years under a 'conservative ' government.
The next step is 15 minute cities,to tie the serfs to the land.

What happened to our anti-monopoly laws?

If a private business has reached the point of being considered "too-big-to-fail" then that means it has long sinced reach the point of needing to be broken up.

I think a major driving factor behind 15 minute cities is that EV's are not going as planned. There hasn't been an expected revolution in battery technology and EV's are either going to be much more expensive than normal cars or sad tiny things that drive half as fast and don't have much range.

With fossil fuels becoming more expensive, what do you do? Well if you don't have a replacecment technology you have to redesign your national infrastructure.

No more commutes. Private vehicle ownership will be replaced with 15-minute cities and mass transporation if you do need to travel long distance.

Of course the elites will still have their yachts and private jets. Different rules.

Well it's interesting how a communist wrote an entire book about the subject (picture below) warning of what happens when capitalism becomes a self consuming monster when it becomes a global entity.

Call it communism all you want, but the proletariat aren't benefitting from it at all. Although, I do agree with your notion about neo feudalism, you should look into a man named Yanis Varoufakis and his theory on "techno fuedslism".

A communist regime would have control over the mega-corporation once it bailed it out.
Our government does not, but rather just spits endless money into it and then steps away and lets them do whatever they want. That's not actually communism. What it is is a bastardized psuedo-Socialism. And under our circumstances this may be worse than full on communism actually.

We need laws that stipulate how many locations a franchise can have.
I say 5 stores is more than enough. We don't need franchises and never did, and they only kill small businesses.
They're a virus.
They undercut prices until stores go out of business, then raise prices again.
My town was starting to boom and had 20 little stores until the Super-Walmart came in.

That said, this is not the first time they've bailed out some giant monsters with our money.
This has been the Corporate States of America for decades now, so what's different about this time?

The people voted for the mega franchises, and continue to. They could've stopped shopping at Walmart and Starbucks, but they didn't.

Monopoly laws have been sliding out the door for decades right? Under Republican and Democrat leadership both. Blaming either party at this point seems a moot practice to me.

I don't know that labeling our plight communism is the best way to define it. To me that is too easy a definition prone to knee jerk reactions. Better I think is your focus on it being more of a Neo-feudalist turn. In my own head I think of it as a return to feudalism. But in the end though I guess it doesn't matter what we call it because it is here and it ain't going away.

But may I ask you this Mal. Here is government, making a move to gain at least some oversight on these massive corporations, at least that is their stated purpose. And I get that. These monsters have become too important to keeping the economy flowing. The corps are so intertwined with board members and policies that one suffering has the others suffering as well and that is not to mention the employment that they control. It's an ugly mess.

But what do you think is worse, some government oversight or just letting them run wild, which seems to me to be the course the corporations have been taking. And this begs the question, just who is the boss in this mess anyway. Governments in charge of corporations or corporations in charge of governments.

HI Z. I have a difficult time with these emojis. The one you left in that post, does it mean you applaud this anger or are disturbed by it. When we were young I would have applauded this notion of a revolution but now I'm not so happy about it. I recognize it on he horizon but I just don't see a positive outcome. Like Watts in 65.

An ugly revolt that only managed to destroy the community the angered lived in. While it's very patriotic to frame this coming outrage in terms of the revolution of 1776 I fear it will be much more like the revolution of 1789 in France.
While the American Revolution was motivated by higher ideals that we now hold so dear, the French revolution demonstrated the nature of revolution based on vengeance. I myself want no part of that.

They had better technologies , but those were surpressed/bought off because there's no money in that (a car run on water).

Have you forgotten Enron and the bank bail-outs?

A big-corporate kleptocracy is different from a communist one.

It's called Crony Capitalism not Communism. In Crony Capitalism the people suffer. In Communism, everyone suffers.

It has been Abused Beyond Recognition in my Eyes , but that is just My Personal Perspective . In no way was I implying Violence , but using " Lawfare " Against the Lawless if Need be . .........
