Two years ago, the DOJ Inspector General reported that numerous Media outlets had reporters and journalists granting favors to top government officials, in return for information...much of it highly classified. The I.G. has been in the process of investigating government officials and journalists since.

Today, the Biden Administration put a stop to investigating journalists and reporters, in most circumstances.

WASHINGTON, July 19 (Reuters) - U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland formalized a new policy on Monday that broadly prohibits prosecutors from subpoenaing reporters' phone and email records, an abrupt shift after the Trump administration secretly seized records from several major news outlets in an effort to root out leaks.

In addition to the new policy, Garland reiterated that the Justice Department would also throw its support behind new media shield legislation to make the policy permanent.

In Your Opinion...Why is the Biden Administration so keen on protecting media personnel who expose classified, or sensitive, or confidential information?

Could Garland be attempting to buy "favor" from reporters and journalists, after the New York Times exposed some very embarrassing information about the inner-workings of the Biden White House?

They are keen on it because most of the journalists and media outlet darlings are married to government officials.

With this President and Administration, Conservative media outlets could have a field-day with these new "protections" in place.

Until they are classified as not valid media outlets and thus get no protections.

I'm sure you can find many more if you bother to look.

www.washingtonpost.com...

The list of prominent news people with close White House relations includes ABC News President Ben Sherwood, who is the brother of Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, a top national-security adviser to President Obama. His counterpart at CBS, news division president David Rhodes, is the brother of Benjamin Rhodes, a key foreign-policy specialist. CNN’s deputy Washington bureau chief, Virginia Moseley, is married to Tom Nides, who until earlier this year was deputy secretary of state under Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Further, White House press secretary Jay Carney’s wife is Claire Shipman, a veteran reporter for ABC. And NPR’s White House correspondent, Ari Shapiro, is married to a lawyer, Michael Gottlieb, who joined the White House counsel’s office in April.

Poster said most, not a few cheesy picked examples.

Most should be over 50 percent.

Waiting.

Tapping my foot

Didn't think so.

More hyperbole, half feelz and wishful thinking by the folks who wish things were a certain way, so they pretend they are...

How dictatorships works? well they get the media and social media in the dictators side in order to control information.

We no longer have a open and unbias media in our nation, since the conglomerates became monopolies the thing that most people do not realize is that a lot of the media is been bought by foreigners. The take over of media outlets to control public opinion started in the late 70s.

The Democrat propaganda ministers (CNN/MSNBC/NYTimes/WaPo) are not happy with the Biden administration.

This Garland move is an attempt to appease them.

I recall Hillary Clinton saying she would, if elected President, reassess what constitutes a legitimate journalism organization. She was angry at Breitbart and Drudge.

No doubt Joe Biden and his admin cronies are looking for ways to punish those who expose his incompetence and weaknesses. Facebook is just the first target.

Who's asking questions of whom?

President Trump used to let the media question him until their brains froze up.

President Biden's brain freezes up before the media can ask many questions.

With Angela Merkel last week, Biden said he couldn't handle more than 2 questions at a time. After 15 minutes, he got frustrated and shut-down the Q&A he and the Germany prime minister were holding.
