Prime rib and anyone who gets in the way of the prime rib.

Got a neighbor that does a lot of smoking meats.
Just picked up 2 of these a little while ago.
He gave me a sample when I picked them up.....I had to sit down when I tasted it.
During the summers, he has slabs of ribs, brisket and burnt ends every weekend.

As for what to bring?...well, you wouldn't hurt my feelings if you picked up a bottle of Laphroaig 25 y/o cask strength Scotch.

Just one bottle?
Laphroaig

Would you settle for this bourbon?

Switching it up this year from the usual turkey/ham tradition and doing Admiral Risty's marinated flank steak

The Admiral Risty was an iconic local restaurant that closed for good about a year ago and this was their signature dish. They were always free with their recipes and I've made this many times over the years. It's a treat and I recommend trying it. 👍

I have to make a brandied fruitcake every year for my dad. He's not the only one who eats. Quite a few of us enjoy it, but right about the beginning of December every time I have him or my mom on the phone, I am told in no uncertain terms there *will* be one coming.

Similar to teriyaki but a completely different taste. I usually make extra marinade to drizzle on after cooking for extra flavor. Damn now I'm hungry and I gotta wait til tomorrow!

We are eating ham. Got it for ninety nine cents a pound at Meijers, it is a cooks ham, but they are not that bad. I have more reaction problem with the expensive hams than with the cheap ones. We never buy the spiral sliced ones either, the brown sugar/pineapple juice mixture goes deep into the ham with the cuts in the ham.

Sweet potatoes, cheesy potato cassorole, and shrimp dip. The wife wanted the cheesy potato instead of baked potatoes....we have to make sure not to eat too many potatoes, the deer would get mad if we started eating all their potatoes and carrots and possibly kick in our patio door. We already lost two stars on our reputation score because we missed them one night when we were eating supper. They could see us eating. The help should never eat before customers do.

Those look wicked awesome!!

Where does he get an uncooked cured ham that is spiral sliced??? Never seen one of those before!

Seen plenty of cooked ones, but you can't smoke those. Seen plenty of uncooked cured hams, but they're not spiral cut.

That's too bad, sorry to hear it.

They discount prime ribs 50-60% around here for Christmas. Ours is certified prime, but off one of our steers. I still picked one up at the store the other day, at that price I can't raise them for that little.

FCD has the best menus always makes what I am having sound like school lunch food. BTW hope for a quick recovery on that shoulder

We will have basic party fair appetizers type stuff tonight Buffalo wings will be my go-to as well as shrimp, chips and cheese dip, and guacamole. Sausage balls etc.

Then stuff myself on Chex mix, my sister basically doubles the Worcestershire sauce and butter and it's addicting as hell.

Tomorrow

Roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and yeast rolls.
