In a report by Independent, Musk revealed that the chip will allow the wearer to hear things that they weren't able to hear before as it was out of a human's hearing range, meaning the Neuralink chip can be used to "extend range of hearing beyond normal frequencies and amplitudes."

Additionally, and perhaps even more interesting and exciting, is that the mysterious chip will apparently be able to help restore movement for people with a fully severed spinal cord.

If that proves to be true, it could help millions of people who have had spinal injuries and were unable to move since then, providing the best and perhaps the only cure available on the market.

It has already been revealed that the chip will also stream music straight to your brain. What else will it be able to do?

I think we are crossing lines that we should not be crossing. How are you going to stop your brain from being hacked? Anything can and will be hacked.

There are so many terrible things that could happen if most people have this chip implanted into their brain. I think this is a bad idea.

Hopefully give me super sensitive hearing powers so I can make out what my wife is muttering under her breath at me.

Tell that to the para/quadriplegics you know. Tell that to the hearing impaired that you know. They might agree with you. Or not.

Like I said, bad idea.

What if she will be able to tell what you are thinking.

Since my ability to hear higher frequencies was damaged while in the US Navy, I'd volunteer for the device to see what happens.

I only think about roughly three things and I'm fairly certain she is aware of each of them.

That is how this will be sold to everyone.

Look at all the good it will do, they will say.

You don't care about people if you don't get an implant.

Actually, in your case, it's more like "I don't care about people who can benefit from an implant."

I care about what will happen to them if they do.

I have seen a few movies like this and it never turns out good.

But that's not what you said.

So, if you ended up being paralysed from the neck down, you would say no to this? I don't think so, and if you say no, then you are simply lying.

It's easy to say this when you do not actually have any problems that something like this chip could help.

Amazing technology that could benefit so many people.

You may be right. Hard to tell till you face that choice.

I know they wanted to put some cow or human bone in me for a surgery once.

I didn't let them do it, even though they sure tried to talk me into it.

I would love to get one of these. I can still hear great, but the power of being able to expand that would be incredible for all sorts of reasons. The benefits would override any worry of hackers, at least for me.

Of course it would be great.

Why not for the eyes too. Be able to see more wavelengths. All kinds of very cool stuff could be done.

To me it Just seems like crossing a line that should not be crossed.

You have already been hacked.

I mean, look at how cochlear implants have enslaved us all.
