Do we have any aircraft that is based in the Philippines or Indonesia, that can fly at 50,000 feet at 1134 mph. Yes 1134 mph not knots.

There's a Japanese Self Defense Force 767 in the area too. It's going over China.

Well that's a weird one.

I'm looking at it now on there and the altitude checks out, but speed is at zero now, and not moving on the map.

Unless it's something spectacular, i'd be inclined to say something has gone buggy. Not least due to the fact the source is ADS-C (Satellite).
I've seen this a couple of times with tracking over UK, where it appears a Cessna is at 55k ft. Looks crazy. But equally I've also seen a very real U-2 coming in to RAF Fairford on the map after having come in 50k ft from over Russia.

Don't know if a U2 can go that fast, it could be a dro... I don't know what it is. It's moving.
Could be a glitch. I've seen weird things on ADS-B before.

Last screen grab.

Yeah I saw that track too - very strange how it goes up over the Pole, then seems to lose contact until Indonesia, then a complete 180 over to China.

Could be something. Could be something very curious.

Lol, yeah it certainly has my attention too. It's at the Chinese Russian border now.

Over the pole...

It's not SR-71 fast, but it's moving.

Edit: and where does it refuel?
Mileage it excellent 😮

Edit: well I'm stumped. 🤔

I just checked in to see where it was. Now I'm REALLY confused..

This has to be a screw up in the system, right?

Very interesting to say the least. Yesterday afternoon I was watching a U2 for a while in California (I am assuming it took off from Edwards). Not sure if this is somehow related.

Mach 1.5 means it can supercruise pretty well but it gets harder at 50,000 feet.

Sorry for the delay. I fell asleep as the sun was coming up.

Whatever it was, it's gone now. Strange how it originated from the U.S. and was being tracked all that time. From time to time I'll see a plane over Lockeed Martin ( on Flightradar24 ) near Dulles international airport at 70,000 feet at zero speed. So it's weird to me how they can just put Ghost Planes in the sky to be tracked on radar.

Right?! Very odd. There is definitely some odd activity that happens at this airfield. I also stumbled onto this www.majorsfieldspyplanes.com.... Slow day at work for me so I am all about the "deep dive" right now.

It's a heavy in a strong jetstream. Speed is measured in groundspeed, not airspeed.

A heavy? As in like C5, C17 or kc135? At 50,000 feet? I've seen them at 45k so perhaps.

Edit: didn't think the jet stream could go straight North over the Arctic. The aircraft was maintaining 1150 mph at 50k. You can't refuel at that height.... or can they?

NP. Not sure how much useful info there really is, it's just very odd that it exists at all.
