Give. us. a. better. candidate.

Sheesh. None of this is rocket surgery. Trump got elected because he was the better pick. Trump is going to get re-elected because he is still the better choice.

Everything else (and all the bitching) is just pigsqueel zooting.

This. All they'd have to do to beat Trump is run a halfway decent candidate. 2 elections in a row, they haven't been able to manage that. Trump has his hardcore base that TerryMcGuire is whining about. The rest of the people who voted for him, the ones that put him over the top, are swing voters.

Until the Democrats find wherever they hid their #ing brain and start worrying about those voters instead of Trump's base, they're gonna keep losing.

Im not so sure its an either/or thing.

Plenty of media connections to China, essentially very large sums of money going to areas with the most social influence in the west (video games, movies, colleges, tech companies) and plenty of suspicious dealings with politicians going back to Clinton/Loral (likely earlier as well).

Im not sure the democrats are worried about winning anything legitimately, either way. At least, they sure dont seem to be.

The American empire is coming to an end, it was inevitable. But it won't collapse like the Roman empire, at least I hope.

But I think you need to lay off the Chris Hedges and Truthdig a little, over the years he and his colleagues have been on point, but a little over zealous.

Perhaps you should ask yourself how that happened, how did the media manipulate you all so easily, how do they have so much control over you....

Sounds a lot like the "# the rich" rhetoric of the Democrats. Which is especially ironic these days considering a lot of "the rich" donate to Democrats. But they still get their sheep to believe they're looking out for the little guy.

All you fools with your head turned inwards to domestic policy and Trump this and Trump that, don't seem to realize that America lost the third world war, which was fought without a single shot being fired.

The third world war was an economic one. America started it against China, and whether you accept it, realize it or deny it, the fact is that America lost it.

With the single release of a microscopic agent, China has crippled American economy. Just look at the crash of the GDP, the exponential increase of unemployment claims, the turmoil of the market, the expansion of people requiring extraordinary measures (such as the money handouts) to keep afloat.

And not only that, but with an uber practical and radical real politik approach, China has been swift in taking advantage of Trump's miopic "America First" diatribes and demagoguery, moving fast to occupy the vaccuum left by the US, in taking a leading role at the international level. Chinese equipment, doctors, supplies, and soft excercises of power have inundated the world the past three weeks, while the US is discussing if Trump's interests in hydrocloiquine companies or Dr. Fauci's facepalms actually mean something.

Maybe you don't see it now, but this pandemic has changed the world. No doubt the world will keep on moving forward. Just not with America in the front this time. If that is a good or bad thing, remains to be seen.

Bro...... I don't even know what to say to convey how dumb your OP is.

I made a thread on this a long time ago. China is the new Japan. India will be the new China.
The #1 buyer of chinese goods is AMERICA. Europe is #2. As soon as Trump moves manufacturing back to this Hemisphere under the USMCA, China is pretty much done. Then add to that India has a billion strong educated workforce. Those things together spell doom for the house of cards that is China. They won't go away. They just won't be a world power. Just like people said Japan was supposed to be the new World Power, China won't either. Huge yawn.

And you really fail to realize that there are so many public relations failures for China to deal with in the coming years.
- Chinese tourists on video in Italy with signs "Hug the Chinese challenge" spreading the virus.
- Lies and failure to communicate information about the virus to the world.
- Locking down their manufacturing and making threats about medicines and medical supplies to the USA.
- Using the virus as an opportunity to further bully Taiwan.
- Buying the WHO leaders and failing to lead them in a plausible denial.

China was already under scrutiny by Europe and the good ole USA before this. NOW? They are just F*(#&$$ing screwed.
There is no way China doesn't tuck tail and apologize for this entire fiasco in the long run. Damage control on the world stage is one thing. Totalitarian control of their own people are now at stake for this. And I doubt Trump lets them off the hook without massive concessions.

China has lifted its lockdown. They are starting to produce again. Personal loss and individual tragedies mean nothing to the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China. The CPP knows that in any war some pain is inevitable.

Above all, the guys running things there are practical. Cynically, cruelly, psycopathologically practical. To them, some hundreds of thousands (or even some millions) dying is an acceptable loss, if it means achieving their ends. They have close to 1.5 billion people. A few million more or less mean nothing.

Karl Popper foresaw this in his magnum opus, "Open Society and its Enemies". Liberal values, democratic values, human rights and morals may well be the downfall of western culture as we know it, when confronted to a worldview that sees all these values as weaknesses and shortcomings that must be taken advantage of.

We are seeing this ideological battle play out right now before our eyes. This are historic times, ladies and gentlemen.
I agree with everything you say in this particular post. But China is going to be hurt far more by this epidemic than the United States. You mention that China’s producing again. Who are they going to sell their products to? The entire world is suffering from a recession of epic proportions that could become another Great Depression. China will be able to sell anything that’s useful re: the pandemic, but the dollar value of those products will be trifling compared to their pre-pandemic export totals. China’s economy is much more trade dependent than the USA’s, and we’re their biggest export customer. And the realization of just how dependent we are on China for so many things needed to deal with the virus will result in a lot of manufacturing moving out of China. Trust in China has plummeted since the pandemic, and token gifts of pandemic supplies are not going to change that.

First of all, I'm not your "bro".

Second, please stick to the facts. I posit that the virus is part of the economic war China and the US waged. I stated that with the virus, the US economy has been crippled. This is a fact, regardless of all the patriotic thumps in the chest you may do.

Unemployment rate in the US is 14.4%. The highest since 1940 and going up.

The market crash has been the worst since 1987.

The worst GDP reduction in the past 100 years is HERE.

China couldn't care less about what the world thinks of them, they're interested in securing allies, clients and that's what they are doing.

Regarding the possible threats, China has the US in its pocket. The US owes 1.07 trillion dollars to China. That means that, on average, each american citizen owes $4,280 to China. All China has to do is cash in that debt.

I mean, you can stick your head in the sand all you want, but that doesn't change anything. Believe all you want the "alternative facts" that your dear leader is feeding you. Reality at the end is overwhelming.

OK sister. Do you understand how the economy works? Do you understand how China increased their economy? Do you understand the history of Japan? Do you understand the history of cycles?
I really don't mean to sound like I'm talking down to a 17 year old. It's kind of hard, there are a lot of people that buy into this line of thinking. And I'm pretty sure it is because they watch too much YouTube doom porn.

I am a proud chest thumping patriot. I spent 25 years serving this country overseas and in wars. I have seen despoticly ruled peoples. And I have never been a fan of the Chinese government, or their recent culture, caused by their government.

If you went to a store in 1970 to buy Japanese products, or bought a Japanese car, you knew you were buying a product that was substandard and was not of quality. That changed overnight in the 1980's. Toyota, Sony, Honda, Subaru, etc so on and so forth are still around today known as innovative leaders in their industry. But Japan will not rule the world. The doom porn that Japan was going to rule the world was actually much stronger in the 1980's that the China doom porn today.

South Korea had a similar increase in their economy over the past two decades. Luckily, or unluckily, doom porn authors didn't pick up on that story. In the 1990's, to buy a Samsung product was akin to buying trash. Today Samsung is higher quality than Sony, as an example.

China has stolen and borrowed technology to steal parts of our economy. Do you actually think that will last? It happened overnight, and the correction will also happen overnight.

The US economy has been hurt by this virus. Bravo to you for recognizing what nobody else recognized. China was also hurt. The entire world has been hurt. We have seen worse. I would easily argue that 2008 was vastly worse. We will rebound from this quickly. And as I stated earlier, the USMCA is a much bigger deal than you are aware. It is now time to build up the Mexican economy and make them a rich country. The China experiment looks to have failed dramatically. You can sell your China doom porn all you want. Just know it is not remotely true. We have China boxed in literally and figuratively.

If all this is true. That China did this on purpose, it will come out. Why would the world move forward lead by the country that literally killed the world ??? Makes little sense to me. China will pay and pay dearly when all this said and done. Whether it was intentional or not. This is the CCP virus, not the trump one.

Guy China is Interwoven with us just as we are with them, and we are not the only country that uses China for cheap labor and manufactoring.

The entire world is in an Economic repression not just China and the USA but the World. Yea we use China for lots of things, But they use us for an equal ammount of things i.e. soy beans, Oil, maybe not the variety we use them for but definatly an equal ammount monetarily.

I'm not sure what is with all this America doom doom doom talk , but its annoying. This Virus was not good for China and anyone who thinks it was is a ''Fool" as you so eloquently put it .

I think also that you misunderstand the way the World works , You really think all of the USA power rest on the brittle nature of money. Oh no the USA and other countries who understand the true nature of Power would never let something as ficial as Money stand in there way. We simply use money to control those who cant see past money, Power is Power and money is but a tool with which to manipulate others who do not know the difference.

It's just people that can't stand America and are constantly making things up about our imminent demise as a world power. It's nothing more than their own wishful thinking, sometimes fueled by some youtube videos or American media (most of whom hate this country too) propaganda that they feel like makes them "in the know."
