Why?

Is there something wrong about having rural roots now?

Hannity goes after the politicians not the populace
nice try tho

I mean... I've heard him speak of "progressives" loosely, or democrats are tearing the country apart. He doesn't isolate it to only politicians.

Anytime you find someone on the "right" doing what lemon does I would love to see it.

Its a broad brush. That said, you can find no shortage of liberal leaning folks in the cities who have bought the narrative.

I can definitely agree with you that there are some very broad brush strokes on either side.

For the record, this city girl has an intense longing and respect for rural America. I am a pastoral type, I guess

It's probably hate speech to talk about the Bernie Bros who want death camps as being a bad thing now.

You know, because gulags are really awesome. They teach you this in college now. But what would we know? We aren't sophisticated enough to have maths and stuff ...

Maybe they don't go off of the same template... But both sides have tropes and doublespeak that their followers often overlook because of bias affirmation while it appears glaring to the opposition.

So the left will make out the right to be all Bible clutching, gay hating, racist misogynists...

And the right will make the left out to be socialists who all want handouts from mummy government.

There are certainly no shortage of extremes to use as case studies to "prove" either point... Because extremes get the loudest platforms while speaking for the smallest of minorities.

But let's be real... Most Democrats or Republicans we know in our day to day lives don't fit in the models the pundits try to sell as the new norm.

You watch Hannity?

I listen to him on the radio while I'm driving a few times a month. I don't watch cable TV as a rule, nothing for me there.

I'm not completely bashing Hannity either, make no mistake. He has been right about quite a bit post Trump. Does he present it in a way I see as what most of us would call old school journalism? Not at all. He's helped found and mainstream the new pundit norm.

Basically half the country hates the other half.

Just look at Virginia. The draconian guns laws.

Leftists don't operate in a vacuum. They get voted in by people who think like their leaders.

The really interesting thing about living in a free society is that enough people can vote away their freedoms while voting for more freedoms rarely works.

It isn't so much that they think so little of us, it's that they do it openly now and with support.

It amazes me that people still watch FOX News or CNN. Both are just as biased, hateful and ludicrous. When will Americans realize that these are FOR PROFIT businesses that are raking in advertising dollars by keeping Americans at each other's throats? This targeted polarization is all about keeping everyone mad as hell so that we all keep watching their networks to find out what the next great thing to be outraged about will be- and here, watch these short messages from our filthy rich advertisers while you are here!

Please, just step away from the Koolaid!

Unfortunately here in Virginia we see national politics bleed into our state politics because of the population density in NOVA, which might as well be DC.

I'd love to see a newfound passion in this country to go back to more state governing, and less federal power. My state is a prime example on what can happen when national conversations influence what happens in our state.

Unfortunately, our new governor as of 2017 has been horrible, and through his scandals I suspect he's gone more mainstream for party backing. As far as this state voting for him (I did not, I disliked both options), it was damned if you did, damned if you don't in the area I live. We had a lot riding on that election, and in hindsight we were screwed either way... Which I suspected as I looked into Northams ties which contradicted his campaigning platform.

This has been a two lane road for some time. People on the sidelines have seen the back and forth of hyperbole and rhetoric for years and years.

We get it. The right hates the left, the left hates the right. Look at all the threads on ATS, hell, look at the last few days and you'll find no shortage of rant threads about the left.

Practice what you preach or change your speech....something to that extend.

Peace

It's hard and I get it. America has seen a lot of change in the past few decades, a lot of it at the expense of the middle class. People want someone to blame, they want a defined enemy. Those that have something to lose have no problem convincing us the enemy is our neighbors. Less chance of us getting behind common causes if we can't cross lines because they like guns, or want pot to be legal.

Not as good as that video or mark dice's, but here is my video on this.

Oh, and in case this sounds familiar, here is a thread I did, about Rick Wilson on a don lemmon panel from a little over a year ago, where he calls all trump supporters ten toothed racists.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

And yes, as another user mentioned, you see trump, right wing politicians and media people go after politicians and others in similar ways (though rarely with this smugness and venom)

Show me them attacking average voters of the dems like this.

Im tired of the both sides do it argument as well.

It absolutely is bigotry too. They don't understand that, because they think bigotry is things like requiring ID to vote, but the way they think about the rural population is the textbook definition of bigotry. It's hilarious how they are the very thing they think they hate.

One should not be giving CNN views OR Fox news views. Both are extremely bias.

Does Fox news hold Trump accountable to the same criticisms as Obama? Nope!

Stop playing into these left vs right mainstream divisive games! How am i still needing to make this point on ATS, a conspiracy website? Is Fox news forums too full?

Stop watching Fox and CNN. Both are there to divide and give heavily bias political opinions.

I don't hate any of you, but you're no less guilty than the leftists.

They attack equally but hide behind the anti-PC self-justification. “It’s just a joke. Can’t people take a joke?”

Peace

Do they need to? Every other network does, and not one of those other nets held Obama to the same criticisms as they hold Trump.

So what's your point? Between them all we get the picture, right? It's only those who shut off what they can't stand hearing who don't get balance.

Cool.

No doubt youll be bale to provide me with a conservative media person or trump making insults about all voters of democrats and saying its just a joke.

Perhaps you are right, Id be willing to look at that.

I keep hearing people say it happens, yet no one will post an example
